aapay jaanai karay aap jin vaarhee hai laa-ee. ||1||
He Himself knows, and He Himself acts; He laid out the garden of the world. ||1||

rwiesw ipAwry kw rwiesw ijqu sdw suKu hoeI ] rhwau ] (725-1)
raa-isaa pi-aaray kaa raa-isaa jit sadaa sukh ho-ee. rahaa-o.
Savor the story, the story of the Beloved Lord, which brings a lasting peace. ||Pause||

ijin rMig kMqu n rwivAw sw pCo ry qwxI ] (725-2)
jin rang kant na raavi-aa saa pachho ray taanee.
She who does not enjoy the Love of her Husband Lord, shall come to regret and repent in the end.

hwQ pCoVY isru DuxY jb rYix ivhwxI ]2] (725-2)
haath pachhorhay sir Dhunai jab rain vihaanee. ||2||
She wrings her hands, and bangs her head, when the night of her life has passed away. ||2||

pCoqwvw nw imlY jb cUkYgI swrI ] (725-3)
pachhotaavaa naa milai jab chookaigee saaree.
Nothing comes from repentance, when the game is already finished.

qw iPir ipAwrw rwvIAY jb AwvYgI vwrI ]3] (725-3)
taa fir pi-aaraa raavee-ai jab aavaigee vaaree. ||3||
She shall have the opportunity to enjoy her Beloved, only when her turn comes again. ||3||

kMqu lIAw sohwgxI mY qy vDvI eyh ] (725-3)
kant lee-aa sohaaganee mai tay vaDhvee ayh.
The happy soul-bride attains her Husband Lord - she is so much better than I am.

sy gux muJY n AwvnI kY jI dosu Dryh ]4] (725-4)
say gun mujhai na aavnee kai jee dos Dharayh. ||4||
I have none of her merits or virtues; whom should I blame? ||4||

ijnI sKI shu rwivAw iqn pUCaugI jwey ] (725-4)
jinee sakhee saho raavi-aa tin poochh-ugee jaa-ay.
I shall go and ask those sisters who have enjoyed their Husband Lord.

pwie lgau bynqI krau lyaugI pMQu bqwey ]5] (725-5)
paa-ay laga-o bayntee kara-o lay-ugee panth bataa-ay. ||5||
I touch their feet, and ask them to show me the Path. ||5||

hukmu pCwxY nwnkw Bau cMdnu lwvY ] (725-5)
hukam pachhaanai naankaa bha-o chandan laavai.
She who understands the Hukam of His Command, O Nanak, applies the Fear of God as her sandalwood oil;

gux kwmx kwmix krY qau ipAwry kau pwvY ]6] (725-6)
gun kaaman kaaman karai ta-o pi-aaray ka-o paavai. ||6||
she charms her Beloved with her virtue, and so obtains Him. ||6||

jo idil imilAw su imil rihAw imilAw khIAY ry soeI ] (725-6)
jo dil mili-aa so mil rahi-aa mili-aa kahee-ai ray so-ee.
She who meets her Beloved in her heart, remains united with Him; this is truly called union.

jy bhuqyrw locIAY bwqI mylu n hoeI ]7] (725-7)
jay bahutayraa lochee-ai baatee mayl na ho-ee. ||7||
As much as she may long for Him, she shall not meet Him through mere words. ||7||

Dwqu imlY Puin Dwqu kau ilv ilvY kau DwvY ] (725-7)
Dhaat milai fun Dhaat ka-o liv livai ka-o Dhaavai.
As metal melts into metal again, so does love melt into love.

gur prswdI jwxIAY qau AnBau pwvY ]8] (725-8)
gur parsaadee jaanee-ai ta-o anbha-o paavai. ||8||
By Guru's Grace, this understanding is obtained, and then, one obtains the Fearless Lord. ||8||

paanaa vaarhee ho-ay ghar khar saar na jaanai.
There may be an orchard of betel nut trees in the garden, but the donkey does not appreciate its value.

rsIAw hovY musk kw qb PUlu pCwxY ]9] (725-8)
rasee-aa hovai musak kaa tab fool pachhaanai. ||9||
If someone savors a fragrance, then he can truly appreciate its flower. ||9||

Aipau pIvY jo nwnkw BRmu BRim smwvY ] (725-9)
api-o peevai jo naankaa bharam bharam samaavai.
One who drinks in the ambrosia, O Nanak, abandons his doubts and wanderings.

shjy shjy imil rhY Amrw pdu pwvY ]10]1] (725-9)
sehjay sehjay mil rahai amraa pad paavai. ||10||1||
Easily and intuitively, he remains blended with the Lord, and obtains the immortal status. ||10||1||

har kee-aa kathaa kahaanee-aa gur meet sunaa-ee-aa.
The Guru, my friend, has told me the stories and the sermon of the Lord.

bilhwrI gur Awpxy gur kau bil jweIAw ]1] (725-11)
balihaaree gur aapnay gur ka-o bal jaa-ee-aa. ||1||
I am a sacrifice to my Guru; to the Guru, I am a sacrifice. ||1||

Awie imlu gurisK Awie imlu qU myry gurU ky ipAwry ] rhwau ] (725-11)
aa-ay mil gursikh aa-ay mil too mayray guroo kay pi-aaray. rahaa-o.
Come, join with me, O Sikh of the Guru, come and join with me. You are my Guru's Beloved. ||Pause||

hir ky gux hir Bwvdy sy gurU qy pwey ] (725-12)
har kay gun har bhaavday say guroo tay paa-ay.
The Glorious Praises of the Lord are pleasing to the Lord; I have obtained them from the Guru.

ijn gur kw Bwxw mMinAw iqn Guim Guim jwey ]2] (725-12)
jin gur kaa bhaanaa mani-aa tin ghum ghum jaa-ay. ||2||
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to those who surrender to, and obey the Guru's Will. ||2||

ijn siqguru ipAwrw dyiKAw iqn kau hau vwrI ] (725-13)
jin satgur pi-aaraa daykhi-aa tin ka-o ha-o vaaree.
I am dedicated and devoted to those who gaze upon the Beloved True Guru.

ijn gur kI kIqI cwkrI iqn sd bilhwrI ]3] (725-13)
jin gur kee keetee chaakree tin sad balihaaree. ||3||
I am forever a sacrifice to those who perform service for the Guru. ||3||

hir hir qyrw nwmu hY duK mytxhwrw ] (725-14)
har har tayraa naam hai dukh maytanhaaraa.
Your Name, O Lord, Har, Har, is the Destroyer of sorrow.

gur syvw qy pweIAY gurmuiK insqwrw ]4] (725-14)
gur sayvaa tay paa-ee-ai gurmukh nistaaraa. ||4||
Serving the Guru, it is obtained, and as Gurmukh, one is emancipated. ||4||

jo hir nwmu iDAwiedy qy jn prvwnw ] (725-15)
jo har naam Dhi-aa-iday tay jan parvaanaa.
Those humble beings who meditate on the Lord's Name, are celebrated and acclaimed.

iqn ivthu nwnku vwirAw sdw sdw kurbwnw ]5] (725-15)
tin vitahu naanak vaari-aa sadaa sadaa kurbaanaa. ||5||
Nanak is a sacrifice to them, forever and ever a devoted sacrifice. ||5||

sw hir qyrI ausqiq hY jo hir pRB BwvY ] (725-15)
saa har tayree ustat hai jo har parabh bhaavai.
O Lord, that alone is Praise to You, which is pleasing to Your Will, O Lord God.

jo gurmuiK ipAwrw syvdy iqn hir Plu pwvY ]6] (725-16)
jo gurmukh pi-aaraa sayvday tin har fal paavai. ||6||
Those Gurmukhs, who serve their Beloved Lord, obtain Him as their reward. ||6||

ijnw hir syqI iprhVI iqnw jIA pRB nwly ] (725-16)
jinaa har saytee pirharhee tinaa jee-a parabh naalay.
Those who cherish love for the Lord, their souls are always with God.

Eie jip jip ipAwrw jIvdy hir nwmu smwly ]7] (725-17)
o-ay jap jap pi-aaraa jeevday har naam samaalay. ||7||
Chanting and meditating on their Beloved, they live in, and gather in, the Lord's Name. ||7||

ijn gurmuiK ipAwrw syivAw iqn kau Guim jwieAw ] (725-17)
jin gurmukh pi-aaraa sayvi-aa tin ka-o ghum jaa-i-aa.
I am a sacrifice to those Gurmukhs who serve their Beloved Lord.

Eie Awip Cuty prvwr isau sBu jgqu CfwieAw ]8] (725-18)
o-ay aap chhutay parvaar si-o sabh jagat chhadaa-i-aa. ||8||
They themselves are saved, along with their families, and through them, all the world is saved. ||8||

guir ipAwrY hir syivAw guru DMnu guru DMno ] (725-19)
gur pi-aarai har sayvi-aa gur Dhan gur Dhanno.
My Beloved Guru serves the Lord. Blessed is the Guru, Blessed is the Guru.

guir hir mwrgu disAw gur puMnu vf puMno ]9] (725-19)
gur har maarag dasi-aa gur punn vad punno. ||9||
The Guru has shown me the Lord's Path; the Guru has done the greatest good deed. ||9||
