peevat amar bha-ay nihkaam.
Drinking it in, one becomes immortal and free of desire.

qnu mnu sIqlu Agin invwrI ] (887-1)
tan man seetal agan nivaaree.
The body and mind are cooled and soothed, and the fire is extinguished.

And rUp pRgty sMswrI ]2] (887-1)
anad roop pargatay sansaaree. ||2||
Such a being is the embodiment of bliss, famous throughout the world. ||2||

ikAw dyvau jw sBu ikCu qyrw ] (887-2)
ki-aa dayva-o jaa sabh kichh tayraa.
What can I offer You, Lord? Everything belongs to You.

sd bilhwir jwau lK byrw ] (887-2)
sad balihaar jaa-o lakh bayraa.
I am forever a sacrifice to You, hundreds of thousands of times.

qnu mnu jIau ipMfu dy swijAw ] (887-2)
tan man jee-o pind day saaji-aa.
You blessed me, and fashioned my body, mind and soul.

gur ikrpw qy nIcu invwijAw ]3] (887-3)
gur kirpaa tay neech nivaaji-aa. ||3||
By Guru's Grace, this lowly being was exalted. ||3||

Koil ikvwrw mhil bulwieAw ] (887-3)
khol kivaaraa mahal bulaa-i-aa.
Opening the door, You summoned me to the Mansion of Your Presence.

jYsw sw qYsw idKlwieAw ] (887-3)
jaisaa saa taisaa dikhlaa-i-aa.
As You are, so You have revealed Yourself to me.

khu nwnk sBu pVdw qUtw ] (887-4)
kaho naanak sabh parh-daa tootaa.
Says Nanak, the screen is totally torn away;

hau qyrw qU mY min vUTw ]4]3]14] (887-4)
ha-o tayraa too mai man voothaa. ||4||3||14||
I am Yours, and You are enshrined within my mind. ||4||3||14||

sayvak laa-i-o apunee sayv.
He has linked His servant to His service.

amrit naam dee-o mukh dayv.
The Divine Guru has poured the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, into his mouth.

sglI icMqw Awip invwrI ] (887-5)
saglee chintaa aap nivaaree.
He has subdued all his anxiety.

iqsu gur kau hau sd bilhwrI ]1] (887-5)
tis gur ka-o ha-o sad balihaaree. ||1||
I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru. ||1||

kaaj hamaaray pooray satgur.
The True Guru has perfectly resolved my affairs.

baajay anhad tooray satgur. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The True Guru vibrates the unstruck melody of the sound current. ||1||Pause||

mihmw jw kI gihr gMBIr ] (887-7)
mahimaa jaa kee gahir gambheer.
His Glory is profound and unfathomable.

hoie inhwlu dyie ijsu DIr ] (887-7)
ho-ay nihaal day-ay jis Dheer.
One whom He blesses with patience becomes blissful.

jw ky bMDn kwty rwie ] (887-7)
jaa kay banDhan kaatay raa-ay.
One whose bonds are shattered by the Sovereign Lord

so nru bhuir n jonI pwie ]2] (887-7)
so nar bahur na jonee paa-ay. ||2||
is not cast into the womb of reincarnation again. ||2||

jw kY AMqir pRgitE Awp ] (887-8)
jaa kai antar pargati-o aap.
One who is illuminated by the Lord's radiance within,

qw kau nwhI dUK sMqwp ] (887-8)
taa ka-o naahee dookh santaap.
is not touched by pain and sorrow.

lwlu rqnu iqsu pwlY pirAw ] (887-8)
laal ratan tis paalai pari-aa.
He holds in his robe the gems and jewels.

sgl kutMb Ehu jnu lY qirAw ]3] (887-9)
sagal kutamb oh jan lai tari-aa. ||3||
That humble being is saved, along with all his generations. ||3||

nw ikCu Brmu n duibDw dUjw ] (887-9)
naa kichh bharam na dubiDhaa doojaa.
He has no doubt, double-mindedness or duality at all.

eyko eyku inrMjn pUjw ] (887-9)
ayko ayk niranjan poojaa.
He worships and adores the One Immaculate Lord alone.

jq kq dyKau Awip dieAwl ] (887-10)
jat kat daykh-a-u aap da-i-aal.
Wherever I look, I see the Merciful Lord.

kaho naanak parabh milay rasaal. ||4||4||15||
Says Nanak, I have found God, the source of nectar. ||4||4||15||

tan tay chhutkee apnee Dhaaree.
My self-conceit has been eliminated from my body.

parabh kee aagi-aa lagee pi-aaree.
The Will of God is dear to me.

jo ikCu krY su min myrY mITw ] (887-11)
jo kichh karai so man mayrai meethaa.
Whatever He does, seems sweet to my mind.

qw iehu Acrju nYnhu fITw ]1] (887-12)
taa ih achraj nainhu deethaa. ||1||
And then, these eyes behold the wondrous Lord. ||1||

Ab moih jwnI ry myrI geI blwie ] (887-12)
ab mohi jaanee ray mayree ga-ee balaa-ay.
Now, I have become wise and my demons are gone.

buiJ geI iqRsn invwrI mmqw guir pUrY lIE smJwie ]1] rhwau ] (887-12)
bujh ga-ee tarisan nivaaree mamtaa gur poorai lee-o samjhaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My thirst is quenched, and my attachment is dispelled. The Perfect Guru has instructed me. ||1||Pause||

kar kirpaa raakhi-o gur sarnaa.
In His Mercy, the Guru has kept me under His protection.

guir pkrwey hir ky crnw ] (887-14)
gur pakraa-ay har kay charnaa.
The Guru has attached me to the Lord's Feet.

bIs ibsuey jw mn Thrwny ] (887-14)
bees bisu-ay jaa man thehraanay.
When the mind is totally held in check,

gur pwrbRhm eykY hI jwny ]2] (887-14)
gur paarbarahm aykai hee jaanay. ||2||
one sees the Guru and the Supreme Lord God as one and the same. ||2||

jo jo kIno hm iqs ky dws ] (887-14)
jo jo keeno ham tis kay daas.
Whoever You have created, I am his slave.

pRB myry ko sgl invws ] (887-15)
parabh mayray ko sagal nivaas.
My God dwells in all.

nw ko dUqu nhI bYrweI ] (887-15)
naa ko doot nahee bairaa-ee.
I have no enemies, no adversaries.

gil imil cwly eykY BweI ]3] (887-15)
gal mil chaalay aykai bhaa-ee. ||3||
I walk arm in arm, like brothers, with all. ||3||

jw kau guir hir dIey sUKw ] (887-16)
jaa ka-o gur har dee-ay sookhaa.
One whom the Guru, the Lord, blesses with peace,

qw kau bhuir n lwgih dUKw ] (887-16)
taa ka-o bahur na laageh dookhaa.
does not suffer in pain any longer.

Awpy Awip srb pRiqpwl ] (887-16)
aapay aap sarab partipaal.
He Himself cherishes all.

nwnk rwqau rMig gopwl ]4]5]16] (887-17)
naanak raata-o rang gopaal. ||4||5||16||
Nanak is imbued with the love of the Lord of the World. ||4||5||16||

mukh tay parh-taa teekaa sahit.
You read the scriptures, and the commentaries,

hirdai raam nahee pooran rahat.
but the Perfect Lord does not dwell in your heart.

aupdysu kry kir lok idRVwvY ] (887-18)
updays karay kar lok darirh-aavai.
You preach to others to have faith,

Apnw kihAw Awip n kmwvY ]1] (887-18)
apnaa kahi-aa aap na kamaavai. ||1||
but you do not practice what you preach. ||1||

pMifq bydu bIcwir pMifq ] (887-19)
pandit bayd beechaar pandit.
O Pandit, O religious scholar, contemplate the Vedas.

man kaa kroDh nivaar pandit. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Eradicate anger from your mind, O Pandit. ||1||Pause||

You place your stone god before yourself,
