One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

saglee theet paas daar raakhee. astam theet govind janmaa see. ||1||
Setting aside all other days, it is said that the Lord was born on the eighth lunar day. ||1||

Brim BUly nr krq kcrwiex ] (1136-2)
bharam bhoolay nar karat kachraa-in.
Deluded and confused by doubt, the mortal practices falsehood.

janam maran tay rahat naaraa-in. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Lord is beyond birth and death. ||1||Pause||

kir pMjIru KvwieE cor ] (1136-3)
kar panjeer khavaa-i-o chor.
You prepare sweet treats and feed them to your stone god.

Ehu jnim n mrY ry swkq For ]2] (1136-3)
oh janam na marai ray saakat dhor. ||2||
God is not born, and He does not die, you foolish, faithless cynic! ||2||

sgl prwD dyih loronI ] (1136-4)
sagal paraaDh deh loronee.
You sing lullabyes to your stone god - this is the source of all your mistakes.

so muKu jlau ijqu khih Twkuru jonI ]3] (1136-4)
so mukh jala-o jit kaheh thaakur jonee. ||3||
Let that mouth be burnt, which says that our Lord and Master is subject to birth. ||3||

jnim n mrY n AwvY n jwie ] (1136-5)
janam na marai na aavai na jaa-ay.
He is not born, and He does not die; He does not come and go in reincarnation.

nwnk kw pRBu rihE smwie ]4]1] (1136-5)
naanak kaa parabh rahi-o samaa-ay. ||4||1||
The God of Nanak is pervading and permeating everywhere. ||4||1||

aUTq suKIAw bYTq suKIAw ] (1136-6)
oothat sukhee-aa baithat sukhee-aa.
Standing up, I am at peace; sitting down, I am at peace.

Bau nhI lwgY jW AYsy buJIAw ]1] (1136-6)
bha-o nahee laagai jaaN aisay bujhee-aa. ||1||
I feel no fear, because this is what I understand. ||1||

raakhaa ayk hamaaraa su-aamee.
The One Lord, my Lord and Master, is my Protector.

sagal ghataa kaa antarjaamee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of Hearts. ||1||Pause||

so-ay achintaa jaag achintaa.
I sleep without worry, and I awake without worry.

jahaa kahaaN parabh tooN vartantaa. ||2||
You, O God, are pervading everywhere. ||2||

Gir suiK visAw bwhir suKu pwieAw ] (1136-8)
ghar sukh vasi-aa baahar sukh paa-i-aa.
I dwell in peace in my home, and I am at peace outside.

khu nwnk guir mMqRü idRVwieAw ]3]2] (1136-8)
kaho naanak gur mantar drirh-aa-i-aa. ||3||2||
Says Nanak, the Guru has implanted His Mantra within me. ||3||2||

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

vrq n rhau n mh rmdwnw ] (1136-9)
varat na raha-o na mah ramdaanaa.
I do not keep fasts, nor do I observe the month of Ramadaan.

iqsu syvI jo rKY indwnw ]1] (1136-9)
tis sayvee jo rakhai nidaanaa. ||1||
I serve only the One, who will protect me in the end. ||1||

eyku gusweI Alhu myrw ] (1136-9)
ayk gusaa-ee alhu mayraa.
The One Lord, the Lord of the World, is my God Allah.

ihMdU qurk duhW nybyrw ]1] rhwau ] (1136-10)
hindoo turak duhaaN naybayraa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
He adminsters justice to both Hindus and Muslims. ||1||Pause||

hj kwbY jwau n qIrQ pUjw ] (1136-10)
haj kaabai jaa-o na tirath poojaa.
I do not make pilgrimages to Mecca, nor do I worship at Hindu sacred shrines.

eyko syvI Avru n dUjw ]2] (1136-10)
ayko sayvee avar na doojaa. ||2||
I serve the One Lord, and not any other. ||2||

pUjw krau n invwj gujwrau ] (1136-11)
poojaa kara-o na nivaaj gujaara-o.
I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers.

eyk inrMkwr ly irdY nmskwrau ]3] (1136-11)
ayk nirankaar lay ridai namaskaara-o. ||3||
I have taken the One Formless Lord into my heart; I humbly worship Him there. ||3||

nw hm ihMdU n muslmwn ] (1136-11)
naa ham hindoo na musalmaan.
I am not a Hindu, nor am I a Muslim.

Alh rwm ky ipMfu prwn ]4] (1136-12)
alah raam kay pind paraan. ||4||
My body and breath of life belong to Allah - to Raam - the God of both. ||4||

khu kbIr iehu kIAw vKwnw ] (1136-12)
kaho kabeer ih kee-aa vakhaanaa.
Says Kabeer, this is what I say:

gur pIr imil Kuid Ksmu pCwnw ]5]3] (1136-12)
gur peer mil khud khasam pachhaanaa. ||5||3||
meeting with the Guru, my Spiritual Teacher, I realize God, my Lord and Master. ||5||3||

ds imrgI shjy bMiD AwnI ] (1136-13)
das mirgee sehjay banDh aanee.
I easily tied up the deer - the ten sensory organs.

paaNch mirag bayDhay siv kee baanee. ||1||
I shot five of the desires with the Word of the Lord's Bani. ||1||

sMqsMig ly ciVE iskwr ] (1136-14)
satsang lay charhi-o sikaar.
I go out hunting with the Saints,

imRg pkry ibnu Gor hQIAwr ]1] rhwau ] (1136-14)
marig pakray bin ghor hathee-aar. ||1|| rahaa-o.
and we capture the deer without horses or weapons. ||1||Pause||

AwKyr ibriq bwhir AwieE Dwie ] (1136-14)
aakhayr birat baahar aa-i-o Dhaa-ay.
My mind used to run around outside hunting.

Ahyrw pwieE Gr kY gWie ]2] (1136-15)
ahayraa paa-i-o ghar kai gaaN-ay. ||2||
But now, I have found the game within the home of my body-village. ||2||

imRg pkry Gir Awxy hwit ] (1136-15)
marig pakray ghar aanay haat.
I caught the deer and brought them home.

cuK cuK ly gey bWFy bwit ]3] (1136-16)
chukh chukh lay ga-ay baaNdhay baat. ||3||
Dividing them up, I shared them, bit by bit. ||3||

eyhu Ahyrw kIno dwnu ] (1136-16)
ayhu ahayraa keeno daan.
God has given this gift.

nwnk kY Gir kyvl nwmu ]4]4] (1136-16)
naanak kai ghar kayval naam. ||4||4||
Nanak's home is filled with the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||4||

Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:

jy sau loic loic KwvwieAw ] (1136-17)
jay sa-o loch loch khaavaa-i-aa.
Even though he may be fed with hundreds of longings and yearnings,

saakat har har cheet na aa-i-aa. ||1||
still the faithless cynic does not remember the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||

sMq jnw kI lyhu mqy ] (1136-17)
sant janaa kee layho matay.
Take in the teachings of the humble Saints.

swDsMig pwvhu prm gqy ]1] rhwau ] (1136-18)
saaDhsang paavhu param gatay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall obtain the supreme status. ||1||Pause||

pwQr kau bhu nIru pvwieAw ] (1136-18)
paathar ka-o baho neer pavaa-i-aa.
Stones may be kept under water for a long time.

nh BIgY AiDk sUkwieAw ]2] (1136-18)
nah bheegai aDhik sookaa-i-aa. ||2||
Even so, they do not absorb the water; they remain hard and dry. ||2||
