ਉਦਾਹਰਨ:
ਤਬ ਨਰਕ ਸੁਰਗ ਕਹੁ ਕਉਨ ਅਉਤਾਰ ॥ Raga Gaurhee 5, Sukhmanee 21, 2:4 (P: 291).
2. ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੇ ਮਹਾਦੇਵ ਅਉਧੂਤਾ ॥ Raga Soohee 5, 49, 3:1 (P: 747).

ਸੰ. ਅਵਤਾਰ. ਨਾਮ/n. ਜਨਮ ਧਾਰਨਾ। 2. ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਹੇਠ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾ। 3. ਹਿੰਦੂਮਤ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਦਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਣਾ. “ਹੁਕਮਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰਾ.” (ਮਾਰੂ ਸੋਲਹੇ ਮਃ ੧) ਦੇਖੋ- ਚੌਬੀਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਦਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ. Footnotes:
