ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥ हरि बिनु जनमु अकारथ जात ॥ Har bin janam akaaraṫʰ jaaṫ. Without the Lord, life is useless. ਤਜਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਆਨ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਤ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਪਹਿਰਤ ਖਾਤ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ तजि गोपाल आन रंगि राचत मिथिआ पहिरत खात ॥ रहाउ ॥ Ṫaj gopaal aan rang raachaṫ miṫʰi▫aa pahiraṫ kʰaaṫ. Rahaa▫o. Those who forsake the Lord, and become engrossed in other pleasures - false and useless are the clothes they wear, and the food they eat. ||Pause|| ਕੇਦਾਰਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ केदारा महला ५ ॥ Kéḋaaraa mėhlaa 5. Kaydaaraa, Fifth Mehl: ਧਨੁ ਜੋਬਨੁ ਸੰਪੈ ਸੁਖ ਭੋੁਗਵੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਨਿਬਹਤ ਮਾਤ ॥ धनु जोबनु स्मपै सुख भुोगवै संगि न निबहत मात ॥ Ḋʰan joban sampæ sukʰ bʰogvæ sang na nibhaṫ maaṫ. The pleasures of wealth, youth, property and comforts will not stay with you, O mother. ਮ੍ਰਿਗ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਬਾਵਰ ਦ੍ਰੁਮ ਛਾਇਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤ ॥੧॥ म्रिग त्रिसना देखि रचिओ बावर द्रुम छाइआ रंगि रात ॥१॥ Marig ṫarisnaa ḋékʰ rachi▫o baavar ḋarum chʰaa▫i▫aa rang raaṫ. ||1|| Seeing the mirage, the madman is entangled in it; he is imbued with pleasures that pass away, like the shade of a tree. ||1|| ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਮਦ ਮੋਹਤ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਕੈ ਖਾਤ ॥ मान मोह महा मद मोहत काम क्रोध कै खात ॥ Maan moh mahaa maḋ mohaṫ kaam kroḋʰ kæ kʰaaṫ. Totally intoxicated with the wine of pride and attachment, he has fallen into the pit of sexual desire and anger. ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਇ ਸਹਾਤ ॥੨॥੫॥੭॥ करु गहि लेहु दास नानक कउ प्रभ जीउ होइ सहात ॥२॥५॥७॥ Kar gėh lého ḋaas Naanak ka▫o parabʰ jee▫o ho▫é sahaaṫ. ||2||5||7|| O Dear God, please be the Help and Support of servant Nanak; please take me by the hand, and uplift me. ||2||5||7||
