ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਭੈਰਉ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀਉ ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ਘਰੁ ੨ भैरउ कबीर जीउ असटपदी घरु २ Bʰæro Kabeer jee▫o asatpaḋee gʰar 2 Bhairao, Kabir Jee, Ashtapadees, Second House: ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥ जा महि जोति करे परगास ॥ Jaa mėh joṫ karé pargaas. There, His Divine Light radiates forth. ਅਗਮ ਦ੍ਰੁਗਮ ਗੜਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਬਾਸ ॥ अगम द्रुगम गड़ि रचिओ बास ॥ Agam ḋarugam gaṛ rachi▫o baas. God constructed a fortress, inaccessible and unreachable, in which He dwells. ਜਿਹ ਪਉੜੑੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ जिह पउड़्हे प्रभ बाल गोबिंद ॥१॥ Jih pa▫oṛĥé parabʰ baal gobinḋ. ||1|| where the Eternally Young Lord God abides. ||1|| ਬਿਜੁਲੀ ਚਮਕੈ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥ बिजुली चमकै होइ अनंदु ॥ Bijulee chamkæ ho▫é anand. Lightning blazes, and bliss prevails there, ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ इहु जीउ राम नाम लिव लागै ॥ Ih jee▫o raam naam liv laagæ. This soul is lovingly attuned to the Lord’s Name. ਜਰਾ ਮਰਨੁ ਛੂਟੈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जरा मरनु छूटै भ्रमु भागै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jaraa maran chʰootæ bʰaram bʰaagæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. It is saved from old age and death, and its doubt runs away. ||1||Pause|| ਅਬਰਨ ਬਰਨ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ अबरन बरन सिउ मन ही प्रीति ॥ Abran baran si▫o man hee pareeṫ. Those who believe in high and low social classes, ਹਉਮੈ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੀਤ ॥ हउमै गावनि गावहि गीत ॥ Ha▫umæ gaavan gaavahi geeṫ. only sing songs and chants of egotism. ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਹੋਤ ਝੁਨਕਾਰ ॥ अनहद सबद होत झुनकार ॥ Anhaḋ sabaḋ hoṫ jʰunkaar. The Unstruck Sound-current of the Shabad, the Word of God, resounds in that place, ਜਿਹ ਪਉੜੑੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੨॥ जिह पउड़्हे प्रभ स्री गोपाल ॥२॥ Jih pa▫oṛĥé parabʰ saree gopaal. ||2|| where the Supreme Lord God abides. ||2|| ਖੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਾ ॥ खंडल मंडल मंडल मंडा ॥ Kʰandal mandal mandal mandaa. He creates planets, solar systems and galaxies; ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੀਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਖੰਡਾ ॥ त्रिअ असथान तीनि त्रिअ खंडा ॥ Ṫari▫a asṫʰaan ṫeen ṫari▫a kʰanda. He destroys the three worlds, the three gods and the three qualities. ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਧਰਨੀਧਰ ਮੰਤ ॥੩॥ पारु न पावै को धरनीधर मंत ॥३॥ Paar na paavæ ko ḋʰarneeḋʰar manṫ. ||3|| No one can find the limits or the secrets of the Lord of the World. ||3|| ਕਦਲੀ ਪੁਹਪ ਧੂਪ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥ कदली पुहप धूप परगास ॥ Kaḋlee puhap ḋʰoop pargaas. The Lord shines forth in the plantain flower and the sunshine. ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਭ ਅੰਤ ॥ अगम अगोचरु रहिआ अभ अंत ॥ Agam agochar rahi▫aa abʰ anṫ. The Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord God dwells in the heart. ਰਜ ਪੰਕਜ ਮਹਿ ਲੀਓ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥ रज पंकज महि लीओ निवास ॥ Raj pankaj mėh lee▫o nivaas. He dwells in the pollen of the lotus flower. ਦੁਆਦਸ ਦਲ ਅਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੰਤ ॥ दुआदस दल अभ अंतरि मंत ॥ Ḋu▫aaḋas ḋal abʰ anṫar manṫ. The Lord’s secret is within the twelve petals of the heart-lotus. ਜਹ ਪਉੜੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਮਲਾ ਕੰਤ ॥੪॥ जह पउड़े स्री कमला कंत ॥४॥ Jah pa▫uṛé saree kamlaa kanṫ. ||4|| The Supreme Lord, the Lord of Lakshmi dwells there. ||4|| ਅਰਧ ਉਰਧ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਕਾਸੁ ॥ अरध उरध मुखि लागो कासु ॥ Araḋʰ uraḋʰ mukʰ laago kaas. He is like the sky, stretching across the lower, upper and middle realms. ਸੁੰਨ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥ सुंन मंडल महि करि परगासु ॥ Sunn mandal mėh kar pargaas. In the profoundly silent celestial realm, He radiates forth. ਊਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਨਾਹੀ ਚੰਦ ॥ ऊहां सूरज नाही चंद ॥ Oohaaⁿ sooraj naahee chanḋ. Neither the sun nor the moon are there, ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਅਨੰਦ ॥੫॥ आदि निरंजनु करै अनंद ॥५॥ Aaḋ niranjan karæ anand. ||5|| but the Primal Immaculate Lord celebrates there. ||5|| ਸੋਹੰ ਸੋ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੈ ਜਾਪ ॥ सोहं सो जा कउ है जाप ॥ Sohaⁿ so jaa ka▫o hæ jaap. Chant “Sohan” - “He is me. ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਿ ਪਿੰਡਿ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੁ ॥ सो ब्रहमंडि पिंडि सो जानु ॥ So barahmand pind so jaan. Know that He is in the universe, and in the body as well. ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥ मान सरोवरि करि इसनानु ॥ Maan sarovar kar isnaan. Take your cleansing bath in the Mansarovar Lake. ਜਾ ਕਉ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਪੁੰਨ ਅਰੁ ਪਾਪ ॥੬॥ जा कउ लिपत न होइ पुंन अरु पाप ॥६॥ Jaa ka▫o lipaṫ na ho▫é punn ar paap. ||6|| He is not affected by either virtue or vice. ||6|| ਅਬਰਨ ਬਰਨ ਘਾਮ ਨਹੀ ਛਾਮ ॥ अबरन बरन घाम नही छाम ॥ Abran baran gʰaam nahee chʰaam. He is not affected by either high or low social class, sunshine or shade. ਅਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਮ ॥ अवर न पाईऐ गुर की साम ॥ Avar na paa▫ee▫æ gur kee saam. He is in the Guru’s Sanctuary, and nowhere else. ਟਾਰੀ ਨ ਟਰੈ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ टारी न टरै आवै न जाइ ॥ Taaree na taræ aavæ na jaa▫é. He is not diverted by diversions, comings or goings. ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੭॥ सुंन सहज महि रहिओ समाइ ॥७॥ Sunn sahj mėh rahi▫o samaa▫é. ||7|| Remain intuitively absorbed in the celestial void. ||7|| ਮਨ ਮਧੇ ਜਾਨੈ ਜੇ ਕੋਇ ॥ मन मधे जानै जे कोइ ॥ Man maḋʰé jaanæ jé ko▫é. One who knows the Lord in the mind - ਜੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਸੋ ਆਪੈ ਹੋਇ ॥ जो बोलै सो आपै होइ ॥ Jo bolæ so aapæ ho▫é. whatever he says, comes to pass. ਜੋਤਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਰੈ ॥ जोति मंत्रि मनि असथिरु करै ॥ Joṫ manṫar man asṫʰir karæ. One who firmly implants the Lord’s Divine Light, and His Mantra within the mind- ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਰੈ ॥੮॥੧॥ कहि कबीर सो प्रानी तरै ॥८॥१॥ Kahi Kabeer so paraanee ṫaræ. ||8||1|| says Kabir, such a mortal crosses over to the other side. ||8||1||
