ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ बसंतु महला ५ ॥ Basanṫ mėhlaa 5. Basant, Fifth Mehl: ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਿਉ ਹਰੇ ਬੂਟ ॥ मिलि पाणी जिउ हरे बूट ॥ Mil paaṇee ji▫o haré boot. As the plant turns green upon receiving water, ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਿਉ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੂਟ ॥ साधसंगति तिउ हउमै छूट ॥ Saaḋʰsangaṫ ṫi▫o ha▫umæ chʰoot. just so, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, egotism is eradicated. ਜੈਸੀ ਦਾਸੇ ਧੀਰ ਮੀਰ ॥ जैसी दासे धीर मीर ॥ Jæsee ḋaasé ḋʰeer meer. Just as the servant is encouraged by his ruler, ਤੈਸੇ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਗੁਰਹ ਪੀਰ ॥੧॥ तैसे उधारन गुरह पीर ॥१॥ Ṫæsé uḋʰaaran gurah peer. ||1|| we are saved by the Guru. ||1|| ਤੁਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਨਹਾਰ ॥ तुम दाते प्रभ देनहार ॥ Ṫum ḋaaṫé parabʰ ḋénhaar. You are the Great Giver, O Generous Lord God. ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ निमख निमख तिसु नमसकार ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Nimakʰ nimakʰ ṫis namaskaar. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Each and every instant, I humbly bow to You. ||1||Pause|| ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥ जिसहि परापति साधसंगु ॥ Jisahi paraapaṫ saaḋʰsang. Whoever enters the Saadh Sangat- ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ तिसु जन लागा पारब्रहम रंगु ॥ Ṫis jan laagaa paarbarahm rang. that humble being is imbued with the Love of the Supreme Lord God. ਤੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਮੁਕਤਿ ॥ ते बंधन ते भए मुकति ॥ Ṫé banḋʰan ṫé bʰa▫é mukaṫ. He is liberated from bondage. ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ॥੨॥ भगत अराधहि जोग जुगति ॥२॥ Bʰagaṫ araaḋʰėh jog jugaṫ. ||2|| His devotees worship Him in adoration; they are united in His Union. ||2|| ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ॥ नेत्र संतोखे दरसु पेखि ॥ Néṫar sanṫokʰé ḋaras pékʰ. My eyes are content, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ਮਨੁ ਆਘਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਹਿ ਸੁਆਦਿ ॥੩॥ मनु आघाना हरि रसहि सुआदि ॥३॥ Man aagʰaanaa har rasėh su▫aaḋ. ||3|| My mind is satisfied with the sublime taste of the Lord’s subtle essence. ||3|| ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੀ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ त्रिसना बूझी गुर प्रसादि ॥ Ṫarisnaa boojʰee gur parsaaḋ. My thirst is quenched, by Guru’s Grace. ਰਸਨਾ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਣ ਅਨੇਕ ॥ रसना गाए गुण अनेक ॥ Rasnaa gaa▫é guṇ anék. My tongue sings the Infinite Praises of God. ਸੇਵਕੁ ਲਾਗੋ ਚਰਣ ਸੇਵ ॥ सेवकु लागो चरण सेव ॥ Sévak laago charaṇ sév. Your servant is committed to the service of Your Feet, ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਦੇਵ ॥ आदि पुरख अपर्मपर देव ॥ Aaḋ purakʰ aprampar ḋév. O Primal Infinite Divine Being. ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ सगल उधारण तेरो नामु ॥ Sagal uḋʰaaraṇ ṫéro naam. Your Name is the Saving Grace of all. ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਓ ਇਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੬॥ नानक पाइओ इहु निधानु ॥४॥६॥ Naanak paa▫i▫o ih niḋʰaan. ||4||6|| Nanak has received this treasure. ||4||6||
