ਜਿਤਨੇ ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੇ ਤਿਤਨੇ ਸਿਰਿ ਕਾਰ ਲਿਖਾਵੈ ॥ जितने जीअ जंत प्रभि कीने तितने सिरि कार लिखावै ॥ Jiṫné jee▫a janṫ parabʰ keené ṫiṫné sir kaar likʰaavæ. All the beings and creatures which God has created - on their foreheads, He has written their destiny. ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ मलार महला ४ ॥ Malaar mėhlaa 4. Malaar, Fourth Mehl: ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਹਰਿ ਦੀਨੑ ਵਡਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾਰੈ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ हरि जन कउ हरि दीन्ह वडाई हरि जनु हरि कारै लावै ॥१॥ Har jan ka▫o har ḋeenĥ vadaa▫ee har jan har kaaræ laavæ. ||1|| The Lord blesses His humble servant with glorious greatness. The Lord enjoins him to his tasks. ||1|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥ सतिगुरु हरि हरि नामु द्रिड़ावै ॥ Saṫgur har har naam ḋariṛ▫aavæ. The True Guru implants the Naam, the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, within. ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਸਿਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ हरि बोलहु गुर के सिख मेरे भाई हरि भउजलु जगतु तरावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Har bolhu gur ké sikʰ méré bʰaa▫ee har bʰa▫ojal jagaṫ ṫaraavæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Chant the Name of the Lord, O Sikhs of the Guru, O my Siblings of Destiny. Only the Lord will carry you across the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||Pause|| ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਜਨੁ ਪੂਜੇ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ जो गुर कउ जनु पूजे सेवे सो जनु मेरे हरि प्रभ भावै ॥ Jo gur ka▫o jan poojé sévé so jan méré har parabʰ bʰaavæ. That humble being who worships, adores and serves the Guru is pleasing to my Lord God. ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੨॥ हरि की सेवा सतिगुरु पूजहु करि किरपा आपि तरावै ॥२॥ Har kee sévaa saṫgur poojahu kar kirpaa aap ṫaraavæ. ||2|| To worship and adore the True Guru is to serve the Lord. In His Mercy, He saves us and carries us across. ||2|| ਭਰਮਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਫੂਲ ਤੋਰਾਵੈ ॥ भरमि भूले अगिआनी अंधुले भ्रमि भ्रमि फूल तोरावै ॥ Bʰaram bʰoolé agi▫aanee anḋʰulé bʰaram bʰaram fool ṫoraavæ. The ignorant and the blind wander deluded by doubt; deluded and confused, they pick flowers to offer to their idols. ਨਿਰਜੀਉ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਮੜਾ ਸਰੇਵਹਿ ਸਭ ਬਿਰਥੀ ਘਾਲ ਗਵਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ निरजीउ पूजहि मड़ा सरेवहि सभ बिरथी घाल गवावै ॥३॥ Nirjee▫o poojėh maṛaa sarévėh sabʰ birṫʰee gʰaal gavaavæ. ||3|| They worship lifeless stones and serve the tombs of the dead; all their efforts are useless. ||3|| ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਬਿੰਦੇ ਸੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ ब्रहमु बिंदे सो सतिगुरु कहीऐ हरि हरि कथा सुणावै ॥ Barahm binḋé so saṫgur kahee▫æ har har kaṫʰaa suṇaavæ. He alone is said to be the True Guru, who realizes God, and proclaims the Sermon of the Lord, Har, Har. ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਛਾਦਨ ਭੋਜਨ ਪਾਟ ਪਟੰਬਰ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁੰਨ ਕੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਤੋਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥ तिसु गुर कउ छादन भोजन पाट पट्मबर बहु बिधि सति करि मुखि संचहु तिसु पुंन की फिरि तोटि न आवै ॥४॥ Ṫis gur ka▫o chʰaaḋan bʰojan paat patambar baho biḋʰ saṫ kar mukʰ sanchahu ṫis punn kee fir ṫot na aavæ. ||4|| Offer the Guru sacred foods, clothes, silk and satin robes of all sorts; know that He is True. The merits of this shall never leave you lacking. ||4|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਉ ਪਰਤਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਜੋ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਵੈ ॥ सतिगुरु देउ परतखि हरि मूरति जो अमृत बचन सुणावै ॥ Saṫgur ḋé▫o parṫakʰ har mooraṫ jo amriṫ bachan suṇaavæ. The Divine True Guru is the Embodiment, the Image of the Lord; He utters the Ambrosial Word. ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗ ਭਲੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥੫॥੪॥ नानक भाग भले तिसु जन के जो हरि चरणी चितु लावै ॥५॥४॥ Naanak bʰaag bʰalé ṫis jan ké jo har charṇee chiṫ laavæ. ||5||4|| O Nanak! Blessed and good is the destiny of that humble being, who focuses his consciousness on the Feet of the Lord. ||5||4||
