ਗੁਰ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥ गुर सरणाई सगल निधान ॥ Gur sarṇaa▫ee sagal niḋʰaan. All treasures are found in the Sanctuary of the Guru. ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ मलार महला ५ ॥ Malaar mėhlaa 5. Malaar, Fifth Mehl: ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਜਾਇ ॥ भ्रमु भउ दूखु दरदु सभु जाइ ॥ Bʰaram bʰa▫o ḋookʰ ḋaraḋ sabʰ jaa▫é. Doubt, fear, pain and suffering are taken away, ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਦ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੧॥ साधसंगि सद हरि गुण गाइ ॥१॥ Saaḋʰsang saḋ har guṇ gaa▫é. ||1|| forever singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1|| ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ साची दरगहि पाईऐ मानु ॥ Saachee ḋargahi paa▫ee▫æ maan. Honor is obtained in the True Court of the Lord. ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ॥ मन मेरे गुरु पूरा सालाहि ॥ Man méré gur pooraa saalaahi. O my mind! Praise the Perfect Guru. ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦੇ ਫਲ ਪਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ नामु निधानु जपहु दिनु राती मन चिंदे फल पाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Naam niḋʰaan japahu ḋin raaṫee man chinḋé fal paa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Chant the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, day and night. You shall obtain the fruits of your mind’s desires. ||1||Pause|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ सतिगुर जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥ Saṫgur jévad avar na ko▫é. No one else is as great as the True Guru. ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ गुरु पारब्रहमु परमेसरु सोइ ॥ Gur paarbarahm parmésar so▫é. The Guru is the Supreme Lord, the Transcendent Lord God. ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੂਖ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ॥ जनम मरण दूख ते राखै ॥ Janam maraṇ ḋookʰ ṫé raakʰæ. He saves us from the pains of death and birth, ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ॥ गुरु परमेसरु साचै नाइ ॥ Gur parmésar saachæ naa▫é. The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, in the True Name. ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ गुर की महिमा कथनु न जाइ ॥ Gur kee mahimaa kaṫʰan na jaa▫é. The Guru’s glorious grandeur cannot be described. ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਚਾਖੈ ॥੨॥ माइआ बिखु फिरि बहुड़ि न चाखै ॥२॥ Maa▫i▫aa bikʰ fir bahuṛ na chaakʰæ. ||2|| and we will not have to taste the poison of Maya ever again. ||2|| ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚੀ ॥ सचु संजमु करणी सभु साची ॥ Sach sanjam karṇee sabʰ saachee. True is His self-discipline, and True are all His actions. ਸੋ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਜੋ ਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚੀ ॥੩॥ सो मनु निरमलु जो गुर संगि राची ॥३॥ So man nirmal jo gur sang raachee. ||3|| Immaculate and pure is that mind, which is imbued with love for the Guru. ||3|| ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਡ ਭਾਗਿ ॥ गुरु पूरा पाईऐ वड भागि ॥ Gur pooraa paa▫ee▫æ vad bʰaag. The Perfect Guru is obtained by great good fortune. ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਤਿਆਗਿ ॥ कामु क्रोधु लोभु मन ते तिआगि ॥ Kaam kroḋʰ lobʰ man ṫé ṫi▫aag. Drive out sexual desire, anger and greed from your mind. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸਿ ॥ करि किरपा गुर चरण निवासि ॥ Kar kirpaa gur charaṇ nivaas. By His Grace, the Guru’s Feet are enshrined within. ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਚੁ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੪॥੨੨॥ नानक की प्रभ सचु अरदासि ॥४॥४॥२२॥ Naanak kee parabʰ sach arḋaas. ||4||4||22|| Nanak offers his prayer to the True Lord God. ||4||4||22||
