ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਹਨ ਮਲਨ ਦਹਨ ਲਹਨ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਆਨ ਨਹੀ ਉਪਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ प्रभ कहन मलन दहन लहन गुर मिले आन नही उपाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Parabʰ kahan malan ḋahan lahan gur milé aan nahee upaa▫o. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Speaking of God, filth and pollution are burnt away; This comes by meeting with the Guru, and not by any other efforts. ||1||Pause|| ਕਾਨੜਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ कानड़ा महला ५ ॥ Kaanṛaa mėhlaa 5. Kaanraa, Fifth Mehl: ਤਟਨ ਖਟਨ ਜਟਨ ਹੋਮਨ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੰਡਧਾਰ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥ तटन खटन जटन होमन नाही डंडधार सुआउ ॥१॥ Ṫatan kʰatan jatan homan naahee dandḋʰaar su▫aa▫o. ||1|| Making pilgrimages to sacred rivers, observing the six rituals, wearing matted and tangled hair, performing fire sacrifices and carrying ceremonial walking sticks - none of these are of any use. ||1|| ਜਤਨ ਭਾਂਤਨ ਤਪਨ ਭ੍ਰਮਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਕਥਨ ਕਥਤੇ ਨਹੀ ਥਾਹ ਪਾਈ ਠਾਉ ॥ जतन भांतन तपन भ्रमन अनिक कथन कथते नही थाह पाई ठाउ ॥ Jaṫan bʰaaⁿṫan ṫapan bʰarman anik kaṫʰan kaṫʰṫé nahee ṫʰaah paa▫ee tʰaa▫o. All sorts of efforts, austerities, wanderings and various speeches - none of these will lead you to find the Lord’s Place. ਸੋਧਿ ਸਗਰ ਸੋਧਨਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਜੁ ਨਾਉ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੯॥ सोधि सगर सोधना सुखु नानका भजु नाउ ॥२॥२॥३९॥ Soḋʰ sagar soḋʰnaa sukʰ naankaa bʰaj naa▫o. ||2||2||39|| I have considered all considerations, O Nanak! But peace comes only by vibrating and meditating on the Name. ||2||2||39||
