ਕਲਿਆਨੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ कलिआनु महला ४ ॥ Kali▫aan mėhlaa 4. Kalyaan, Fourth Mehl: ਰਾਮਾ ਰਮ ਰਾਮੋ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਵੀਜੈ ॥ रामा रम रामो रामु रवीजै ॥ Raamaa ram raamo raam raveejæ. Chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord, the All-pervading Lord. ਸਾਧੂ ਸਾਧ ਸਾਧ ਜਨ ਨੀਕੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ साधू साध साध जन नीके मिलि साधू हरि रंगु कीजै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Saaḋʰoo saaḋʰ saaḋʰ jan neeké mil saaḋʰoo har rang keejæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. The Holy, the humble and Holy, are noble and sublime. Meeting with the Holy, I joyfully love the Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਹੈ ਜੇਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਡੋਲਤ ਡੋਲ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥ जीअ जंत सभु जगु है जेता मनु डोलत डोल करीजै ॥ Jee▫a janṫ sabʰ jag hæ jéṫaa man dolaṫ dol kareejæ. The minds of all the beings and creatures of the world waver unsteadily. ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸਾਧੁ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਥੰਮਨ ਕਉ ਥੰਮੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੧॥ क्रिपा क्रिपा करि साधु मिलावहु जगु थंमन कउ थंमु दीजै ॥१॥ Kirpaa kirpaa kar saaḋʰ milaavhu jag ṫʰamman ka▫o ṫʰamm ḋeejæ. ||1|| Please take pity on them, be merciful to them, and unite them with the Holy; establish this support to support the world. ||1|| ਬਸੁਧਾ ਤਲੈ ਤਲੈ ਸਭ ਊਪਰਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਚਰਨ ਰੁਲੀਜੈ ॥ बसुधा तलै तलै सभ ऊपरि मिलि साधू चरन रुलीजै ॥ Basuḋʰaa ṫalæ ṫalæ sabʰ oopar mil saaḋʰoo charan ruleejæ. The earth is beneath us, and yet its dust falls down on all; let yourself be covered by the dust of the feet of the Holy. ਅਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਅਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਵਹੁ ਸਭ ਸਿਸਟਿ ਚਰਨ ਤਲ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੨॥ अति ऊतम अति ऊतम होवहु सभ सिसटि चरन तल दीजै ॥२॥ Aṫ ooṫam aṫ ooṫam hovhu sabʰ sisat charan ṫal ḋeejæ. ||2|| You shall be utterly exalted, the most noble and sublime of all; the whole world will place itself at your feet. ||2|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਭਲੀ ਸਿਵ ਨੀਕੀ ਆਨਿ ਪਾਨੀ ਸਕਤਿ ਭਰੀਜੈ ॥ गुरमुखि जोति भली सिव नीकी आनि पानी सकति भरीजै ॥ Gurmukʰ joṫ bʰalee siv neekee aan paanee sakaṫ bʰareejæ. The Gurmukhs are blessed with the Divine Light of the Lord; Maya comes to serve them. ਮੈਨਦੰਤ ਨਿਕਸੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸਾਰੁ ਚਬਿ ਚਬਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਜੈ ॥੩॥ मैनदंत निकसे गुर बचनी सारु चबि चबि हरि रसु पीजै ॥३॥ Mænḋanṫ niksé gur bachnee saar chab chab har ras peejæ. ||3|| Through the Word of the Guru’s Teachings, they bite with teeth of wax and chew iron, drinking in the Sublime Essence of the Lord. ||3|| ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਅਨੁਗ੍ਰਹੁ ਬਹੁ ਕੀਆ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੁਰਖ ਮਿਲੀਜੈ ॥ राम नाम अनुग्रहु बहु कीआ गुर साधू पुरख मिलीजै ॥ Raam naam anoograhu baho kee▫aa gur saaḋʰoo purakʰ mileejæ. The Lord has shown great mercy, and bestowed His Name; I have met with the Holy Guru, the Primal Being. ਗੁਨ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਸਥੀਰਨ ਕੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਸਗਲ ਭਵਨ ਜਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੪॥ गुन राम नाम बिसथीरन कीए हरि सगल भवन जसु दीजै ॥४॥ Gun raam naam bisṫʰeeran kee▫é har sagal bʰavan jas ḋeejæ. ||4|| The Glorious Praises of the Lord’s Name have spread out everywhere; the Lord bestows fame all over the world. ||4|| ਸਾਧੂ ਸਾਧ ਸਾਧ ਮਨਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੇਖੇ ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕੀਜੈ ॥ साधू साध साध मनि प्रीतम बिनु देखे रहि न सकीजै ॥ Saaḋʰoo saaḋʰ saaḋʰ man pareeṫam bin ḋékʰé rėh na sakeejæ. The Beloved Lord is within the minds of the Holy, the Holy Sadhus; without seeing Him, they cannot survive. ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਮੀਨ ਜਲੰ ਜਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹੈ ਖਿਨੁ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਫੂਟਿ ਮਰੀਜੈ ॥੫॥ जिउ जल मीन जलं जल प्रीति है खिनु जल बिनु फूटि मरीजै ॥५॥ Ji▫o jal meen jalaⁿ jal pareeṫ hæ kʰin jal bin foot mareejæ. ||5|| The fish in the water loves only the water. Without water, it bursts and dies in an instant. ||5|| ਮਹਾ ਅਭਾਗ ਅਭਾਗ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ ਕੇ ਤਿਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਨ ਪੀਜੈ ॥ महा अभाग अभाग है जिन के तिन साधू धूरि न पीजै ॥ Mahaa abʰaag abʰaag hæ jin ké ṫin saaḋʰoo ḋʰoor na peejæ. Those who have terrible luck and bad fortune do not drink the water which washes the dust of the feet of the Holy. ਤਿਨਾ ਤਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਤ ਜਲਤ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਡੰਡੁ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ਕਾ ਦੀਜੈ ॥੬॥ तिना तिसना जलत जलत नही बूझहि डंडु धरम राइ का दीजै ॥६॥ Ṫinaa ṫisnaa jalaṫ jalaṫ nahee boojʰėh dand ḋʰaram raa▫é kaa ḋeejæ. ||6|| The burning fire of their desires is not extinguished; they are beaten and punished by the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||6|| ਸਭਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਬਰਤ ਜਗੵ ਪੁੰਨ ਕੀਏ ਹਿਵੈ ਗਾਲਿ ਗਾਲਿ ਤਨੁ ਛੀਜੈ ॥ सभि तीरथ बरत जग्य पुंन कीए हिवै गालि गालि तनु छीजै ॥ Sabʰ ṫiraṫʰ baraṫ jag▫y punn kee▫é hivæ gaal gaal ṫan chʰeejæ. You may visit all the sacred shrines, observe fasts and sacred feasts, give generously in charity and waste away the body, melting it in the snow. ਅਤੁਲਾ ਤੋਲੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਕੋ ਪੁਜੈ ਨ ਤੋਲ ਤੁਲੀਜੈ ॥੭॥ अतुला तोलु राम नामु है गुरमति को पुजै न तोल तुलीजै ॥७॥ Aṫulaa ṫol raam naam hæ gurmaṫ ko pujæ na ṫol ṫuleejæ. ||7|| The weight of the Lord’s Name is un-weighable, according to the Guru’s Teachings; nothing can equal its weight. ||7|| ਤਵ ਗੁਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਤੂ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਪਰੀਜੈ ॥ तव गुन ब्रहम ब्रहम तू जानहि जन नानक सरनि परीजै ॥ Ṫav gun barahm barahm ṫoo jaanėh jan Naanak saran pareejæ. O God, You alone know Your Glorious Virtues. Servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ਤੂ ਜਲ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੀਨ ਹਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਖੀਜੈ ॥੮॥੩॥ तू जल निधि मीन हम तेरे करि किरपा संगि रखीजै ॥८॥३॥ Ṫoo jal niḋʰ meen ham ṫéré kar kirpaa sang rakʰeejæ. ||8||3|| You are the Ocean of water, and I am Your fish. Please be kind, and keep me always with You. ||8||3||
