ਪ੍ਰਭਾਤੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ प्रभाती महला ५ ॥ Parbʰaaṫee mėhlaa 5. Prabhaatee, Fifth Mehl: ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਤ ਮਨਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦ ॥ गुन गावत मनि होइ अनंद ॥ Gun gaavaṫ man ho▫é anand. Singing His Glorious Praises, the mind is in ecstasy. ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਮ ਚਰਨੀ ਪਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ तिसु गुर की हम चरनी पाहि ॥१॥ Ṫis gur kee ham charnee paahi. ||1|| I fall at the Feet of that Guru. ||1|| ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਭਗਵੰਤ ॥ आठ पहर सिमरउ भगवंत ॥ Aatʰ pahar simra▫o bʰagvanṫ. Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate in remembrance of God. ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਕਲਮਲ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ जा कै सिमरनि कलमल जाहि ॥ Jaa kæ simran kalmal jaahi. Remembering Him in meditation, the sins go away. ਸੁਮਤਿ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ सुमति देवहु संत पिआरे ॥ Sumaṫ ḋévhu sanṫ pi▫aaré. O beloved Saints, please bless me with wisdom; ਸਿਮਰਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ सिमरउ नामु मोहि निसतारे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Simra▫o naam mohi nisṫaaré. ||1|| rahaa▫o. let me meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, and be emancipated. ||1||Pause|| ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸੀਧਾ ॥ जिनि गुरि कहिआ मारगु सीधा ॥ Jin gur kahi▫aa maarag seeḋʰaa. The Guru has shown me the straight path; ਸਗਲ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੀਧਾ ॥ सगल तिआगि नामि हरि गीधा ॥ Sagal ṫi▫aag naam har geeḋʰaa. I have abandoned everything else. I am enraptured with the Name of the Lord. ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ॥ तिसु गुर कै सदा बलि जाईऐ ॥ Ṫis gur kæ saḋaa bal jaa▫ee▫æ. I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru; ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ हरि सिमरनु जिसु गुर ते पाईऐ ॥२॥ Har simran jis gur ṫé paa▫ee▫æ. ||2|| I meditate in remembrance of the Lord, through the Guru. ||2|| ਬੂਡਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ॥ बूडत प्रानी जिनि गुरहि तराइआ ॥ Boodaṫ paraanee jin gurėh ṫaraa▫i▫aa. The Guru carries those mortal beings across, and saves them from drowning. ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹੈ ਨਹੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ जिसु प्रसादि मोहै नही माइआ ॥ Jis parsaaḋ mohæ nahee maa▫i▫aa. By His Grace, they are not enticed by Maya; ਤਿਸੁ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ॥੩॥ तिसु गुर ऊपरि सदा हउ वारिआ ॥३॥ Ṫis gur oopar saḋaa ha▫o vaari▫aa. ||3|| I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru. ||3|| ਹਲਤੁ ਪਲਤੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥ हलतु पलतु जिनि गुरहि सवारिआ ॥ Halaṫ palaṫ jin gurėh savaari▫aa. in this world and the next, they are embellished and exalted by the Guru. ਮਹਾ ਮੁਗਧ ਤੇ ਕੀਆ ਗਿਆਨੀ ॥ महा मुगध ते कीआ गिआनी ॥ Mahaa mugaḋʰ ṫé kee▫aa gi▫aanee. From the most ignorant, I have been made spiritually wise, ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥ गुर पूरे की अकथ कहानी ॥ Gur pooré kee akaṫʰ kahaanee. through the Unspoken Speech of the Perfect Guru. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ पारब्रहम नानक गुरदेव ॥ Paarbarahm Naanak gurḋév. The Divine Guru, O Nanak! Is the Supreme Lord God. ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ॥੪॥੩॥ वडै भागि पाईऐ हरि सेव ॥४॥३॥ vadæ bʰaag paa▫ee▫æ har sév. ||4||3|| By great good fortune, I serve the Lord. ||4||3||
