ਕਲਿ ਕਾਤੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਕਾਸਾਈ ਧਰਮੁ ਪੰਖ ਕਰਿ ਉਡਰਿਆ ॥ कलि काती राजे कासाई धरमु पंख करि उडरिआ ॥ Kal kaaṫee raajé kaasaa▫ee ḋʰaram pankʰ kar udri▫aa. The Dark Age of Kali Yuga is the knife, and the kings are butchers; righteousness has sprouted wings and flown away. ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੧ ॥ सलोकु मः १ ॥ Salok mėhlaa 1. Shalok, First Mehl: ਕੂੜੁ ਅਮਾਵਸ ਸਚੁ ਚੰਦ੍ਰਮਾ ਦੀਸੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਹ ਚੜਿਆ ॥ कूड़ु अमावस सचु चंद्रमा दीसै नाही कह चड़िआ ॥ Kooṛ amaavas sach chanḋarmaa ḋeesæ naahee kah chaṛi▫aa. In this dark night of falsehood, the moon of Truth is not visible anywhere. ਹਉ ਭਾਲਿ ਵਿਕੁੰਨੀ ਹੋਈ ॥ हउ भालि विकुंनी होई ॥ Ha▫o bʰaal vikunnee ho▫ee. I have searched in vain, and I am so confused; ਵਿਚਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਰੋਈ ॥ विचि हउमै करि दुखु रोई ॥ vich ha▫umæ kar ḋukʰ ro▫ee. In egotism, they cry out in pain. ਆਧੇਰੈ ਰਾਹੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ आधेरै राहु न कोई ॥ Aaḋʰaaræ raahu na ko▫ee. in this darkness, I cannot find the path. ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਿਨਿ ਬਿਧਿ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥੧॥ कहु नानक किनि बिधि गति होई ॥१॥ Kaho Naanak kin biḋʰ gaṫ ho▫ee. ||1|| Says Nanak, how will they be saved? ||1||
