ਨਾਨਕ ਵੀਚਾਰਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਜਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਵੇਦ ਕਹੰਦੇ ॥ नानक वीचारहि संत जन चारि वेद कहंदे ॥ Naanak vichaarėh sanṫ jan chaar véḋ kahanḋé. O Nanak! The Saints consider, and the four Vedas proclaim, ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛee. Pauree: ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਪਹਾਰਾ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਣੰਦੇ ॥ प्रगट पहारा जापदा सभि लोक सुणंदे ॥ Pargat pahaaraa jaapḋaa sabʰ lok suṇanḋé. He is manifest in His cosmic workshop. All people hear of this. ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਨਰ ਸੰਤ ਨਾਲਿ ਖਹੰਦੇ ॥ सुखु न पाइनि मुगध नर संत नालि खहंदे ॥ Sukʰ na paa▫in mugaḋʰ nar sanṫ naal kʰahanḋé. The stubborn men who fight with the Saints shall never find peace. ਭਗਤ ਮੁਖੈ ਤੇ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਸੇ ਵਚਨ ਹੋਵੰਦੇ ॥ भगत मुखै ते बोलदे से वचन होवंदे ॥ Bʰagaṫ mukʰæ ṫé bolḋé sé vachan hovanḋé. that whatever the Lord’s devotees utter with their mouths, shall come to pass. ਓਇ ਲੋਚਨਿ ਓਨਾ ਗੁਣੈ ਨੋ ਓਇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਸੜੰਦੇ ॥ ओइ लोचनि ओना गुणै नो ओइ अहंकारि सड़ंदे ॥ O▫é lochan onaa guṇæ no o▫é ahaⁿkaar saṛanḋé. The Saints seek to bless them with virtue, but they only burn in their egos. ਓਇ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਾ ਭਾਗ ਧੁਰਿ ਮੰਦੇ ॥ ओइ विचारे किआ करहि जा भाग धुरि मंदे ॥ O▫é vichaaré ki▫aa karahi jaa bʰaag ḋʰur manḋé. What can those wretched ones do, since, from the very beginning, their destiny is cursed with evil. ਜੋ ਮਾਰੇ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸੇ ਕਿਸੈ ਨ ਸੰਦੇ ॥ जो मारे तिनि पारब्रहमि से किसै न संदे ॥ Jo maaré ṫin paarbarahm sé kisæ na sanḋé. Those who are struck down by the Supreme Lord God are of no use to anyone. ਵੈਰੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਿਰਵੈਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਧਰਮ ਨਿਆਇ ਪਚੰਦੇ ॥ वैरु करहि निरवैर नालि धरम निआइ पचंदे ॥ vær karahi nirvær naal ḋʰaram ni▫aa▫é pachanḋé. Those who hate the One who has no hatred - according to the true justice of Dharma, they shall perish. ਜੋ ਜੋ ਸੰਤਿ ਸਰਾਪਿਆ ਸੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਭਵੰਦੇ ॥ जो जो संति सरापिआ से फिरहि भवंदे ॥ Jo jo sanṫ saraapi▫aa sé firėh bʰavanḋé. Those who are cursed by the Saints will continue wandering aimlessly. ਪੇਡੁ ਮੁੰਢਾਹੂੰ ਕਟਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਡਾਲ ਸੁਕੰਦੇ ॥੧੨॥ पेडु मुंढाहूं कटिआ तिसु डाल सुकंदे ॥१२॥ Péd muⁿdʰaahooⁿ kati▫aa ṫis daal sukanḋé. ||12|| When the tree is cut off at its roots, the branches wither and die. ||12||
