ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥ गउड़ी कबीर जी ॥ Ga▫oṛee Kabeer jee. Gauree, Kabir Jee: ਜੋ ਜਨ ਪਰਮਿਤਿ ਪਰਮਨੁ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ जो जन परमिति परमनु जाना ॥ Jo jan parmiṫ parman jaanaa. He claims to know the Lord, who is beyond measure and beyond thought; ਬਾਤਨ ਹੀ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਸਮਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ बातन ही बैकुंठ समाना ॥१॥ Baaṫan hee bækuntʰ samaanaa. ||1|| by mere words, he plans to enter heaven. ||1|| ਨਾ ਜਾਨਾ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਕਹਾ ਹੀ ॥ ना जाना बैकुंठ कहा ही ॥ Naa jaanaa bækuntʰ kahaa hee. I do not know where heaven is. ਜਾਨੁ ਜਾਨੁ ਸਭਿ ਕਹਹਿ ਤਹਾ ਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जानु जानु सभि कहहि तहा ही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jaan jaan sabʰ kahėh ṫahaa hee. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Everyone claims that he plans to go there. ||1||Pause|| ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਵਨ ਨਹ ਪਤੀਅਈ ਹੈ ॥ कहन कहावन नह पतीअई है ॥ Kahan kahaavan nah paṫee▫a▫ee hæ. By mere talk, the mind is not appeased. ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨੈ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਈ ਹੈ ॥੨॥ तउ मनु मानै जा ते हउमै जई है ॥२॥ Ṫa▫o man maanæ jaa ṫé ha▫umæ ja▫ee hæ. ||2|| The mind is only appeased, when egotism is conquered. ||2|| ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਮਨਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਕੀ ਆਸ ॥ जब लगु मनि बैकुंठ की आस ॥ Jab lag man bækuntʰ kee aas. As long as the mind is filled with the desire for heaven, ਤਬ ਲਗੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਹੀ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥੩॥ तब लगु होइ नही चरन निवासु ॥३॥ Ṫab lag ho▫é nahee charan nivaas. ||3|| he does not dwell at the Lord’s Feet. ||3||
