ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ ਘਰੁ ੨ आसा महला ३ असटपदीआ घरु २ Aasaa mėhlaa 3 asatpaḋee▫aa gʰar 2 Aasaa, Third Mehl, Ashtapadees, Second House: ਸਾਖਾ ਤੀਨਿ ਮੂਲੁ ਮਤਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਰਬ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ साखा तीनि मूलु मति रावै तूं तां सरब विडाणी ॥१॥ Saakʰaa ṫeen mool maṫ raavæ ṫooⁿ ṫaaⁿ sarab vidaaṇee. ||1|| The intellect can understand the world of the three modes, but You, O Primal Lord, are totally astounding. ||1|| ਸਾਸਤੁ ਬੇਦੁ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਚਰਣ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ सासतु बेदु सिंम्रिति सरु तेरा सुरसरी चरण समाणी ॥ Saasaṫ béḋ simriṫ sar ṫéraa sursaree charaṇ samaaṇee. The Shastras, the Vedas and the Smritis are contained in the ocean of Your Name; the River Ganges is held in Your Feet. ਤਾ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ता के चरण जपै जनु नानकु बोले अमृत बाणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ṫaa ké charaṇ japæ jan Naanak bolé amriṫ baṇee. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Servant Nanak meditates on His Feet, and chants the Ambrosial Word of His Bani. ||1||Pause|| ਤੇਤੀਸ ਕਰੋੜੀ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥ तेतीस करोड़ी दास तुम्हारे रिधि सिधि प्राण अधारी ॥ Ṫéṫees karoṛee ḋaas ṫumĥaaré riḋʰ siḋʰ paraaṇ aḋʰaaree. Three hundred thirty million gods are Your servants. You bestow wealth, and the supernatural powers of the Siddhas; You are the Support of the breath of life. ਤਾ ਕੇ ਰੂਪ ਨ ਜਾਹੀ ਲਖਣੇ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਆਖਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ ता के रूप न जाही लखणे किआ करि आखि वीचारी ॥२॥ Ṫaa ké roop na jaahee lakʰ▫ṇé ki▫aa kar aakʰ veechaaree. ||2|| His beauteous forms cannot be comprehended; what can anyone accomplish by discussing and debating? ||2|| ਤੀਨਿ ਗੁਣਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਜੁਗ ਹੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਚਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੀਆ ਖਾਣੀ ॥ तीनि गुणा तेरे जुग ही अंतरि चारे तेरीआ खाणी ॥ Ṫeen guṇaa ṫéré jug hee anṫar chaaré ṫéree▫aa kʰaaṇee. Throughout the ages, You are the three qualities, and the four sources of creation. ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਥੇ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਣੀ ॥੩॥ करमु होवै ता परम पदु पाईऐ कथे अकथ कहाणी ॥३॥ Karam hovæ ṫaa param paḋ paa▫ee▫æ kaṫʰé akaṫʰ kahaaṇee. ||3|| If You show Your Mercy, then one obtains the supreme-status, and speaks the Unspoken Speech. ||3|| ਤੂੰ ਕਰਤਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਕਿਆ ਕੋ ਕਰੇ ਪਰਾਣੀ ॥ तूं करता कीआ सभु तेरा किआ को करे पराणी ॥ Ṫooⁿ karṫaa kee▫aa sabʰ ṫéraa ki▫aa ko karé paraaṇee. You are the Creator; all are created by You. What can any mortal being do? ਜਾ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪਣੀ ਸਾਈ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੪॥ जा कउ नदरि करहि तूं अपणी साई सचि समाणी ॥४॥ Jaa ka▫o naḋar karahi ṫooⁿ apṇee saa▫ee sach samaaṇee. ||4|| He alone, upon whom You shower Your Grace, is absorbed into the Truth. ||4|| ਨਾਮੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਲੇਤੁ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੀ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ नामु तेरा सभु कोई लेतु है जेती आवण जाणी ॥ Naam ṫéraa sabʰ ko▫ee léṫ hæ jéṫee aavaṇ jaaṇee. Everyone who comes and goes chants Your Name. ਜਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਹੋਰ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਇਆਣੀ ॥੫॥ जा तुधु भावै ता गुरमुखि बूझै होर मनमुखि फिरै इआणी ॥५॥ Jaa ṫuḋʰ bʰaavæ ṫaa gurmukʰ boojʰæ hor manmukʰ firæ i▫aaṇee. ||5|| When it is pleasing to Your Will, then the Gurmukh understands. Otherwise, the self-willed Manmukhs wander in ignorance. ||5|| ਤਾ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਬਪੁੜਾ ਨਰਕਿ ਸੁਰਗਿ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ॥੬॥ ता का हुकमु न बूझै बपुड़ा नरकि सुरगि अवतारी ॥६॥ Ṫaa kaa hukam na boojʰæ bapuṛaa narak surag avṫaaree. ||6|| The wretched one does not understand His Command, and is reincarnated into heaven and hell. ||6|| ਚਾਰੇ ਵੇਦ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੇ ਕਉ ਦੀਏ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ चारे वेद ब्रहमे कउ दीए पड़ि पड़ि करे वीचारी ॥ Chaaré véḋ barahmé ka▫o ḋee▫é paṛ paṛ karé veechaaree. You gave the four Vedas to Brahma, for him to read and read continually, and reflect upon. ਜੁਗਹ ਜੁਗਹ ਕੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੀਏ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਅਵਤਾਰੀ ॥ जुगह जुगह के राजे कीए गावहि करि अवतारी ॥ Jugah jugah ké raajé kee▫é gaavahi kar avṫaaree. In each and every age, He creates the kings, who are sung of as His Incarnations. ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਿ ਆਖਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੭॥ तिन भी अंतु न पाइआ ता का किआ करि आखि वीचारी ॥७॥ Ṫin bʰee anṫ na paa▫i▫aa ṫaa kaa ki▫aa kar aakʰ veechaaree. ||7|| Even they have not found His limits; what can I speak of and contemplate? ||7|| ਤੂੰ ਸਚਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਸਾਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ तूं सचा तेरा कीआ सभु साचा देहि त साचु वखाणी ॥ Ṫooⁿ sachaa ṫéraa kee▫aa sabʰ saachaa ḋėh ṫa saach vakʰaaṇee. You are True, and all that You do is True. If You bless me with the Truth, I will speak on it. ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਵਹਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥੮॥੧॥੨੩॥ जा कउ सचु बुझावहि अपणा सहजे नामि समाणी ॥८॥१॥२३॥ Jaa ka▫o sach bujʰaavėh apṇaa sėhjé naam samaaṇee. ||8||1||23|| One whom You inspire to understand the Truth, is easily absorbed into the Naam. ||8||1||23||
