ਗੂਜਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਗਵਾਰਿ ਜਾ ਸਹੁ ਪਾਏ ਆਪਣਾ ॥ गूजरी जाति गवारि जा सहु पाए आपणा ॥ Goojree jaaṫ gavaar jaa saho paa▫é aapṇaa. The milkmaid’s status is very low, but she attains her Husband Lord ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोकु मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlaa 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਜਾਪਣਾ ॥ गुर कै सबदि वीचारि अनदिनु हरि जपु जापणा ॥ Gur kæ sabaḋ veechaar an▫ḋin har jap jaapṇaa. when she reflects upon the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, and chants the Lord’s Name, night and day. ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਉ ਪਵੈ ਸਾ ਕੁਲਵੰਤੀ ਨਾਰਿ ॥ जिसु सतिगुरु मिलै तिसु भउ पवै सा कुलवंती नारि ॥ Jis saṫgur milæ ṫis bʰa▫o pavæ saa kulvanṫee naar. She who meets the True Guru, lives in the Fear of God; she is a woman of noble birth. ਸਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਕੰਤ ਕਾ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ ॥ सा हुकमु पछाणै कंत का जिस नो क्रिपा कीती करतारि ॥ Saa hukam pachʰaaṇæ kanṫ kaa jis no kirpaa keeṫee karṫaar. She alone realizes the Hukam of her Husband Lord’s Command, who is blessed by the Creator Lord’s Mercy. ਓਹ ਕੁਚਜੀ ਕੁਲਖਣੀ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਛੋਡੀ ਭਤਾਰਿ ॥ ओह कुचजी कुलखणी परहरि छोडी भतारि ॥ Oh kuchjee kulkʰaṇee par▫har chʰodee bʰaṫaar. She who is of little merit and ill-mannered, is discarded and forsaken by her Husband Lord. ਭੈ ਪਇਐ ਮਲੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਰੀਰੁ ॥ भै पइऐ मलु कटीऐ निरमल होवै सरीरु ॥ Bʰæ pa▫i▫æ mal katee▫æ nirmal hovæ sareer. By the Fear of God, filth is washed off, and the body becomes immaculately pure. ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਮਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰੁ ॥ अंतरि परगासु मति ऊतम होवै हरि जपि गुणी गहीरु ॥ Anṫar pargaas maṫ ooṫam hovæ har jap guṇee gaheer. The soul is enlightened, and the intellect is exalted, meditating on the Lord, the ocean of excellence. ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਬੈਸੈ ਭੈ ਰਹੈ ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਕਾਰ ॥ भै विचि बैसै भै रहै भै विचि कमावै कार ॥ Bʰæ vich bæsæ bʰæ rahæ bʰæ vich kamaavæ kaar. One who dwells in the Fear of God, lives in the Fear of God, and acts in the Fear of God. ਐਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰ ॥ ऐथै सुखु वडिआईआ दरगह मोख दुआर ॥ Æṫʰæ sukʰ vaḋi▫aa▫ee▫aa ḋargėh mokʰ ḋu▫aar. He obtains peace and glorious greatness here, in the Lord’s Court, and at the Gate of Salvation. ਭੈ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਾਈਐ ਮਿਲਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਅਪਾਰ ॥ भै ते निरभउ पाईऐ मिलि जोती जोति अपार ॥ Bʰæ ṫé nirbʰa▫o paa▫ee▫æ mil joṫee joṫ apaar. Through the Fear of God, the Fearless Lord is obtained, and one’s light merges in the Infinite Light. ਨਾਨਕ ਖਸਮੈ ਭਾਵੈ ਸਾ ਭਲੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਕਰਤਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ नानक खसमै भावै सा भली जिस नो आपे बखसे करतारु ॥१॥ Naanak kʰasmæ bʰaavæ saa bʰalee jis no aapé bakʰsé karṫaar. ||1|| O Nanak! That bride alone is good, who is pleasing to her Lord and Master, and whom the Creator Lord Himself forgives. ||1||
