ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਜਜਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਜਰੁ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਆਏ ॥ इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आए ॥ Ih sareer jajree hæ is no jar pahuchæ aa▫é. This body is frail; old age is overtaking it. ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ वडहंसु महला ३ ॥ vad▫hans mėhlaa 3. Wadahans, Third Mehl: ਹੋਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਵਹਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਹਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ होरि मरि जंमहि आवहि जावहि अंति गए पछुतावहि बिनु नावै सुखु न होई ॥ Hor mar jamėh aavahi jaavėh anṫ ga▫é pachʰuṫaavahi bin naavæ sukʰ na ho▫ee. Others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going, and in the end, they depart regretfully. Without the Name, there is no peace. ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਸੇ ਉਬਰੇ ਹੋਰੁ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ गुरि राखे से उबरे होरु मरि जंमै आवै जाए ॥ Gur raakʰé sé ubré hor mar jammæ aavæ jaa▫é. Those who are protected by the Guru are saved, while others die, to be reincarnated; they continue coming and going. ਐਥੈ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹੈ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥ ऐथै कमावै सो फलु पावै मनमुखि है पति खोई ॥ Æṫʰæ kamaavæ so fal paavæ manmukʰ hæ paṫ kʰo▫ee. As one acts here, so does he obtain his rewards; the self-willed Manmukh loses his honor. ਜਮ ਪੁਰਿ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ਮਹਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਨਾ ਤਿਥੈ ਭੈਣ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥ जम पुरि घोर अंधारु महा गुबारु ना तिथै भैण न भाई ॥ Jam pur gʰor anḋʰaar mahaa gubaar naa ṫiṫʰæ bʰæṇ na bʰaa▫ee. In the City of Death, there is pitch darkness, and huge clouds of dust; neither sister nor brother is there. ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਜਜਰੀ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਜਰੁ ਪਹੁਚੈ ਆਈ ॥੧॥ इहु सरीरु जजरी है इस नो जरु पहुचै आई ॥१॥ Ih sareer jajree hæ is no jar pahuchæ aa▫ee. ||1|| This body is frail; old age is overtaking it. ||1|| ਕਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ काइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जां सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥ Kaa▫i▫aa kanchan ṫaaⁿ ṫʰee▫æ jaaⁿ saṫgur la▫é milaa▫é. The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਚੜੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ भ्रमु माइआ विचहु कटीऐ सचड़ै नामि समाए ॥ Bʰaram maa▫i▫aa vichahu katee▫æ sachṛæ naam samaa▫é. Doubt and Maya have been removed from within me, and I am merged in the Naam, the True Name of the Lord. ਸਚੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ सचै नामि समाए हरि गुण गाए मिलि प्रीतम सुखु पाए ॥ Sachæ naam samaa▫é har guṇ gaa▫é mil pareeṫam sukʰ paa▫é. Merged in the True Name of the Lord, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord; meeting my Beloved, I have found peace. ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ सदा अनंदि रहै दिनु राती विचहु हंउमै जाए ॥ Saḋaa anand rahæ ḋin raaṫee vichahu haⁿ▫umæ jaa▫é. I am in constant bliss, day and night; egotism has been dispelled from within me. ਜਿਨੀ ਪੁਰਖੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਹੰਉ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिनी पुरखी हरि नामि चितु लाइआ तिन कै हंउ लागउ पाए ॥ Jinee purkʰee har naam chiṫ laa▫i▫aa ṫin kæ haⁿ▫u laaga▫o paa▫é. I fall at the feet of those who enshrine the Naam within their consciousness. ਕਾਂਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਤਾਂ ਥੀਐ ਜਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੨॥ कांइआ कंचनु तां थीऐ जा सतिगुरु लए मिलाए ॥२॥ Kaaⁿ▫i▫aa kanchan ṫaaⁿ ṫʰee▫æ jaa saṫgur la▫é milaa▫é. ||2|| The body becomes like gold, when the True Guru unites one with Himself. ||2|| ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥ So sachaa sach salaahee▫æ jé saṫgur ḋé▫é bujʰaa▫é. We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਣੀਆ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸਨਿ ਆਗੈ ਜਾਏ ॥ बिनु सतिगुर भरमि भुलाणीआ किआ मुहु देसनि आगै जाए ॥ Bin saṫgur bʰaram bʰulaaṇee▫aa ki▫aa muhu ḋésan aagæ jaa▫é. Without the True Guru, they are deluded by doubt; going to the world hereafter, what face will they display? ਕਿਆ ਦੇਨਿ ਮੁਹੁ ਜਾਏ ਅਵਗੁਣਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਏ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਏ ॥ किआ देनि मुहु जाए अवगुणि पछुताए दुखो दुखु कमाए ॥ Ki▫aa ḋén muhu jaa▫é avguṇ pachʰuṫaa▫é ḋukʰo ḋukʰ kamaa▫é. What face will they show when they go there? They will regret and repent for their sins; their actions will bring them only pain and suffering. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੀਆ ਸੇ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਾ ਪਿਰ ਕੈ ਅੰਕਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ नामि रतीआ से रंगि चलूला पिर कै अंकि समाए ॥ Naam raṫee▫aa sé rang chaloolaa pir kæ ank samaa▫é. Those who are imbued with the Naam are dyed in the deep crimson color of the Lord’s Love; they merge into the Being of their Husband Lord. ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਸੂਝਈ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਹੀਐ ਜਾਏ ॥ तिसु जेवडु अवरु न सूझई किसु आगै कहीऐ जाए ॥ Ṫis jévad avar na soojʰ▫ee kis aagæ kahee▫æ jaa▫é. I can conceive of no other as great as the Lord; unto whom should I go and speak? ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਜੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਦੇਇ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥੩॥ सो सचा सचु सलाहीऐ जे सतिगुरु देइ बुझाए ॥३॥ So sachaa sach salaahee▫æ jé saṫgur ḋé▫é bujʰaa▫é. ||3|| We truly praise the True Lord, when the True Guru imparts understanding. ||3|| ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिनी सचड़ा सचु सलाहिआ हंउ तिन लागउ पाए ॥ Jinee sachṛaa sach sahaali▫aa haⁿ▫u ṫin laaga▫o paa▫é. I fall at the feet of those who praise the Truest of the True. ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੇ ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ॥ से जन सचे निरमले तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए ॥ Sé jan saché nirmalé ṫin mili▫aa mal sabʰ jaa▫é. Those humble beings are true, and immaculately pure; meeting them, all filth is washed off. ਤਿਨ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਮਲੁ ਸਭ ਜਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਰਿ ਨਾਏ ਸਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ ॥ तिन मिलिआ मलु सभ जाए सचै सरि नाए सचै सहजि सुभाए ॥ Ṫin mili▫aa mal sabʰ jaa▫é sachæ sar naa▫é sachæ sahj subʰaa▫é. Meeting them, all filth is washed off; bathing in the Pool of Truth, one becomes truthful, with intuitive ease. ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥ नामु निरंजनु अगमु अगोचरु सतिगुरि दीआ बुझाए ॥ Naam niranjan agam agochar saṫgur ḋee▫aa bujʰaa▫é. The True Guru has given me the realization of the Naam, the Immaculate Name of the Lord, the unfathomable, the imperceptible. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ अनदिनु भगति करहि रंगि राते नानक सचि समाए ॥ An▫ḋin bʰagaṫ karahi rang raaṫé Naanak sach samaa▫é. Those who perform devotional worship to the Lord night and day, are imbued with His Love; O Nanak! They are absorbed in the True Lord. ਜਿਨੀ ਸਚੜਾ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹੰਉ ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਲਾਗਉ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੪॥ जिनी सचड़ा सचु धिआइआ हंउ तिन कै लागउ पाए ॥४॥४॥ Jinee sachṛaa sach ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa haⁿ▫u ṫin kæ laaga▫o paa▫é. ||4||4|| I fall at the feet of those who meditate on the Truest of the True. ||4||4||
