ਜਿਹ ਕਰਣੀ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਸਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਇਹਾ ਕਮਾਨੀ ਰੀਤਿ ॥ जिह करणी होवहि सरमिंदा इहा कमानी रीति ॥ Jih karṇee hovėh sarminḋaa ihaa kamaanee reeṫ. You have made it your habit to practice those deeds which will bring you shame. ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ धनासरी महला ५ ॥ Ḋʰanaasree mėhlaa 5. Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl: ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਸਾਕਤ ਕੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਐਸੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੑੀ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ संत की निंदा साकत की पूजा ऐसी द्रिड़्ही बिपरीति ॥१॥ Sanṫ kee ninḋaa saakaṫ kee poojaa æsee ḋariṛ▫ee bipreeṫ. ||1|| You slander the Saints, and you worship the faithless cynics; such are the corrupt ways you have adopted. ||1|| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਭੂਲੋ ਅਵਰੈ ਹੀਤ ॥ माइआ मोह भूलो अवरै हीत ॥ Maa▫i▫aa moh bʰoolo avræ heeṫ. Deluded by your emotional attachment to Maya, you love other things, ਹਰਿਚੰਦਉਰੀ ਬਨ ਹਰ ਪਾਤ ਰੇ ਇਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਰੋ ਬੀਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ हरिचंदउरी बन हर पात रे इहै तुहारो बीत ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Harichanḋ▫uree ban har paaṫ ré ihæ ṫuhaaro beeṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. like the enchanted city of Hari-chandauree, or the green leaves of the forest - such is your way of life. ||1||Pause|| ਚੰਦਨ ਲੇਪ ਹੋਤ ਦੇਹ ਕਉ ਸੁਖੁ ਗਰਧਭ ਭਸਮ ਸੰਗੀਤਿ ॥ चंदन लेप होत देह कउ सुखु गरधभ भसम संगीति ॥ Chanḋan lép hoṫ ḋéh ka▫o sukʰ garḋʰabʰ bʰasam sangeeṫ. Its body may be anointed with sandalwood oil, but the donkey still loves to roll in the mud. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਹਿ ਰੁਚ ਆਵਤ ਬਿਖੈ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥ अमृत संगि नाहि रुच आवत बिखै ठगउरी प्रीति ॥२॥ Amriṫ sang naahi ruch aavaṫ bikʰæ tʰag▫uree pareeṫ. ||2|| He is not fond of the Ambrosial Nectar; instead, he loves the poisonous drug of corruption. ||2|| ਉਤਮ ਸੰਤ ਭਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਪਵਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ॥ उतम संत भले संजोगी इसु जुग महि पवित पुनीत ॥ Uṫam sanṫ bʰalé sanjogee is jug mėh paviṫ puneeṫ. The Saints are noble and sublime; they are blessed with good fortune. They alone are pure and holy in this world. ਜਾਤ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਕਾਚ ਬਾਦਰੈ ਜੀਤ ॥੩॥ जात अकारथ जनमु पदारथ काच बादरै जीत ॥३॥ Jaaṫ akaaraṫʰ janam paḋaaraṫʰ kaach baaḋræ jeeṫ. ||3|| The jewel of this human life is passing away uselessly, lost in exchange for mere glass. ||3|| ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਭਾਗੇ ਗੁਰਿ ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੀਤ ॥ जनम जनम के किलविख दुख भागे गुरि गिआन अंजनु नेत्र दीत ॥ Janam janam ké kilvikʰ ḋukʰ bʰaagé gur gi▫aan anjan néṫar ḋeeṫ. The sins and sorrows of uncounted incarnations run away, when the Guru applies the healing ointment of spiritual wisdom to the eyes. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਇਨ ਦੁਖ ਤੇ ਨਿਕਸਿਓ ਨਾਨਕ ਏਕ ਪਰੀਤ ॥੪॥੯॥ साधसंगि इन दुख ते निकसिओ नानक एक परीत ॥४॥९॥ Saaḋʰsang in ḋukʰ ṫé niksi▫o Naanak ék pareeṫ. ||4||9|| In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I have escaped from these troubles; Nanak loves the One Lord. ||4||9||
