ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੈ ॥ प्रभ जी को नामु मनहि साधारै ॥ Parabʰ jee ko naam manėh saḋʰaaræ. Todee, Fifth Mehl: ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੂਖ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਬਰਤਨਿ ਏਹ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जीअ प्रान सूख इसु मन कउ बरतनि एह हमारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jee▫a paraan sookʰ is man ka▫o barṫan éh hamaaræ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. It is my life, my breath of life, my peace of mind; for me, it is an article of daily use. ||1||Pause|| ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ॥ नामु जाति नामु मेरी पति है नामु मेरै परवारै ॥ Naam jaaṫ naam méree paṫ hæ naam méræ parvaaræ. The Naam is my social status, the Naam is my honor; the Naam is my family. ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ नामु सखाई सदा मेरै संगि हरि नामु मो कउ निसतारै ॥१॥ Naam sakʰaa▫ee saḋaa méræ sang har naam mo ka▫o nisṫaaræ. ||1|| The Naam is my companion; it is always with me. The Lord’s Name is my emancipation. ||1|| ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਚਲਤ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਸੰਗਾਰੈ ॥ बिखै बिलास कहीअत बहुतेरे चलत न कछू संगारै ॥ Bikʰæ bilaas kahee▫aṫ bahuṫéré chalaṫ na kachʰoo sangaaré. Sensual pleasures are talked about a lot, but none of them goes along with anyone in the end. ਇਸਟੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੭॥ इसटु मीतु नामु नानक को हरि नामु मेरै भंडारै ॥२॥२॥७॥ Isat meeṫ naam Naanak ko har naam méræ bʰandaaræ. ||2||2||7|| The Naam is Nanak’s dearest friend; the Lord’s Name is my treasure. ||2||2||7||
