ਤੀਨਿ ਛੰਦੇ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ तीनि छंदे खेलु आछै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ṫeen chʰanḋé kʰél aachʰæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Here is a verse with a three-fold play on words. ||1||Pause|| ਕੁੰਭਾਰ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥ कु्मभार के घर हांडी आछै राजा के घर सांडी गो ॥ Kumbʰaar ké gʰar haaⁿdee aachʰæ raajaa ké gʰar saaⁿdee go. In the potter’s home there are pots, and in the king’s home there are camels. ਬਾਮਨ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥੧॥ बामन के घर रांडी आछै रांडी सांडी हांडी गो ॥१॥ Baaman ké gʰar raaⁿdee aachʰæ raaⁿdee saaⁿdee haaⁿdee go. ||1|| In the Brahmin’s home there are almanacs (fortune telling booklets) that wish fortune for she-camel, and cooking utensils. ||1|| ਬਾਣੀਏ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹੀਂਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਭੈਸਰ ਮਾਥੈ ਸੀਂਗੁ ਗੋ ॥ बाणीए के घर हींगु आछै भैसर माथै सींगु गो ॥ Baaṇee▫é ké gʰar heeⁿg aachʰæ bʰæsar maaṫʰæ seeⁿg go. In the home of the grocer there is asafetida; on the forehead of the buffalo there are horns. ਦੇਵਲ ਮਧੇ ਲੀਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਲੀਗੁ ਸੀਗੁ ਹੀਗੁ ਗੋ ॥੨॥ देवल मधे लीगु आछै लीगु सीगु हीगु गो ॥२॥ Ḋéval maḋʰé leeg aachʰæ leeg seeg heeg go. ||2|| In the temple of Shiva there are lingams. So, there are lingam, horns and asafetida. ||2|| ਤੇਲੀ ਕੈ ਘਰ ਤੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ਜੰਗਲ ਮਧੇ ਬੇਲ ਗੋ ॥ तेली कै घर तेलु आछै जंगल मधे बेल गो ॥ Ṫélee kæ gʰar ṫél aachʰæ jangal maḋʰé bél go. In the house of the oil-presser there is oil; in the forest there are vines. ਮਾਲੀ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਕੇਲ ਆਛੈ ਕੇਲ ਬੇਲ ਤੇਲ ਗੋ ॥੩॥ माली के घर केल आछै केल बेल तेल गो ॥३॥ Maalee ké gʰar kél aachʰæ kél bél ṫél go. ||3|| In the gardener’s home there are bananas. So, there are bananas, vines and oil. ||3|| ਸੰਤਾਂ ਮਧੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਆਛੈ ਗੋਕਲ ਮਧੇ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋ ॥ संतां मधे गोबिंदु आछै गोकल मधे सिआम गो ॥ Sanṫaaⁿ maḋʰé gobinḋ aachʰæ gokal maḋʰé si▫aam go. The Lord of the Universe, Govind, is in the minds of Saints. Lord Krishna is in Gokal. ਨਾਮੇ ਮਧੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋ ॥੪॥੩॥ नामे मधे रामु आछै राम सिआम गोबिंद गो ॥४॥३॥ Naamé maḋʰé raam aachʰæ raam si▫aam gobinḋ go. ||4||3|| The Lord, Ram, is in Namdev. So, there are Ram, Lord Krishna and Govind (God). ||4||3||
