ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਭਾਂਡੈ ਭਾਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਵਾਰਸੀ ॥ जिन कउ भांडै भाउ तिना सवारसी ॥ Jin ka▫o bʰaaⁿdæ bʰaa▫o ṫinaa savaarasee. Those whose minds are filled with love of the Lord, are blessed and exalted. ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ सूही महला १ ॥ Soohee mėhlaa 1. Soohee, First Mehl: ਸਹਸਾ ਮੂਲੇ ਨਾਹਿ ਸਰਪਰ ਤਾਰਸੀ ॥੧॥ सहसा मूले नाहि सरपर तारसी ॥१॥ Sahsaa moolé naahi sarpar ṫaarsee. ||1|| He will undoubtedly, certainly save them. ||1|| ਸੂਖੀ ਕਰੈ ਪਸਾਉ ਦੂਖ ਵਿਸਾਰਸੀ ॥ सूखी करै पसाउ दूख विसारसी ॥ Sookʰee karæ pasaa▫o ḋookʰ visaarasee. They are blessed with peace, and their pains are forgotten. ਤਿਨੑਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਆਇ ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਲੀਖਿਆ ॥ तिन्हा मिलिआ गुरु आइ जिन कउ लीखिआ ॥ Ṫinĥaa mili▫aa gur aa▫é jin ka▫o leekʰi▫aa. The Guru comes to meet those whose destiny is so preordained. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ਦੇਵੈ ਦੀਖਿਆ ॥ अमृतु हरि का नाउ देवै दीखिआ ॥ Amriṫ har kaa naa▫o ḋévæ ḋeekʰi▫aa. He blesses them with the Teachings of the Ambrosial Name of the Lord. ਚਾਲਹਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ਭਵਹਿ ਨ ਭੀਖਿਆ ॥੨॥ चालहि सतिगुर भाइ भवहि न भीखिआ ॥२॥ Chaalėh saṫgur bʰaa▫é bʰavėh na bʰeekʰi▫aa. ||2|| Those who walk in the Will of the True Guru, never wander begging. ||2|| ਜਾ ਕਉ ਮਹਲੁ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਦੂਜੇ ਨਿਵੈ ਕਿਸੁ ॥ जा कउ महलु हजूरि दूजे निवै किसु ॥ Jaa ka▫o mahal hajoor ḋoojé nivæ kis. And one who lives in the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence, why should he bow down to any other? ਦਰਿ ਦਰਵਾਣੀ ਨਾਹਿ ਮੂਲੇ ਪੁਛ ਤਿਸੁ ॥ दरि दरवाणी नाहि मूले पुछ तिसु ॥ Ḋar ḋarvaaṇee naahi moolé puchʰ ṫis. The gate-keeper at the Lord’s Gate shall not stop him to ask any questions. ਛੁਟੈ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਬੋਲਿ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨਦਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ ॥੩॥ छुटै ता कै बोलि साहिब नदरि जिसु ॥३॥ Chʰutæ ṫaa kæ bol saahib naḋar jis. ||3|| And one who is blessed with the Lord’s Glance of Grace - by his words, others are emancipated as well. ||3|| ਘਲੇ ਆਣੇ ਆਪਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਜਾ ਮਤੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ घले आणे आपि जिसु नाही दूजा मतै कोइ ॥ Gʰalé aaṇé aap jis naahee ḋoojaa maṫæ ko▫é. The Lord Himself sends out, and recalls the mortal beings; no one else gives Him advice. ਢਾਹਿ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਜਿ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਭ ਸੋਇ ॥ ढाहि उसारे साजि जाणै सभ सोइ ॥ Dʰaahi usaaré saaj jaaṇæ sabʰ so▫é. He Himself demolishes, constructs and creates; He knows everything. ਨਾਉ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਨਦਰੀ ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥ नाउ नानक बखसीस नदरी करमु होइ ॥४॥३॥५॥ Naa▫o Naanak bakʰsees naḋree karam ho▫é. ||4||3||5|| O Nanak! The Naam, the Name of the Lord is a blessing, given to those who receive His Mercy, and His Grace. ||4||3||5|| ਭਾਂਡਾ ਅਤਿ ਮਲੀਣੁ ਧੋਤਾ ਹਛਾ ਨ ਹੋਇਸੀ ॥ भांडा अति मलीणु धोता हछा न होइसी ॥ Bʰaaⁿdaa aṫ maleeṇ ḋʰoṫaa hachʰaa na ho▫isee. The filthiest vessel does not become pure, simply by being washed. ਭਾਂਡਾ ਹਛਾ ਸੋਇ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਸੀ ॥ भांडा हछा सोइ जो तिसु भावसी ॥ Bʰaaⁿdaa hachʰaa so▫é jo ṫis bʰaavsee. That vessel alone is pure, which is pleasing to Him.
