ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ करि किरपा मेरे प्रीतम सुआमी नेत्र देखहि दरसु तेरा राम ॥ Kar kirpaa méré pareeṫam su▫aamee néṫar ḋékʰėh ḋaras ṫéraa raam. Be Merciful, O my Beloved Lord and Master, so that I may behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan with my eyes. ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सूही महला ५ ॥ Soohee mėhlaa 5. Soohee, Fifth Mehl: ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਸਾਧੇ ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਕੋਈ ॥ हरि आराधे जम पंथु साधे दूखु न विआपै कोई ॥ Har aaraaḋʰé jam panṫʰ saaḋʰé ḋookʰ na vi▫aapæ ko▫ee. worshiping the Lord in adoration, the Path of Death is overcome, and no pain or suffering will afflict you. ਲਾਖ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੁਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ लाख जिहवा देहु मेरे पिआरे मुखु हरि आराधे मेरा राम ॥ Laakʰ jihvaa ḋéh méré pi▫aaré mukʰ har aaraaḋʰé méraa raam. Please bless me, O my Beloved, with thousands of tongues, to worship and adore You with my mouth, O Lord. ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜਤ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਤ ਸੋਈ ॥ जलि थलि महीअलि पूरन सुआमी जत देखा तत सोई ॥ Jal ṫʰal mahee▫al pooran su▫aamee jaṫ ḋékʰaa ṫaṫ so▫ee. The Lord and Master is pervading and permeating the water, the land and the sky; wherever I look, there He is. ਭਰਮ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਨਾਠੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਨੇਰ ਹੂ ਤੇ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ भरम मोह बिकार नाठे प्रभु नेर हू ते नेरा ॥ Bʰaram moh bikaar naatʰé parabʰ nér hoo ṫé néraa. Doubt, attachment and corruption are gone. God is the nearest of the near. ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਦਰਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ नानक कउ प्रभ किरपा कीजै नेत्र देखहि दरसु तेरा ॥१॥ Naanak ka▫o parabʰ kirpaa keejæ néṫar ḋékʰėh ḋaras ṫéraa. ||1|| Please bless Nanak with Your Merciful Grace, O God, so that his eyes may behold the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||1|| ਕੋਟਿ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਜਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੀਅਹਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ कोटि करन दीजहि प्रभ प्रीतम हरि गुण सुणीअहि अबिनासी राम ॥ Kot karan ḋeejėh parabʰ pareeṫam har guṇ suṇee▫ah abʰinaasee raam. Please bless me, O Beloved God, with millions of ears, with which I may hear the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable Lord. ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਕਟੀਐ ਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ਰਾਮ ॥ सुणि सुणि इहु मनु निरमलु होवै कटीऐ काल की फासी राम ॥ Suṇ suṇ ih man nirmal hovæ katee▫æ kaal kee faasee raam. Listening, listening to these, this mind becomes spotless and pure, and the noose of Death is cut. ਕਟੀਐ ਜਮ ਫਾਸੀ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਗਲ ਮੰਗਲ ਸੁਗਿਆਨਾ ॥ कटीऐ जम फासी सिमरि अबिनासी सगल मंगल सुगिआना ॥ Katee▫æ jam faasee simar abʰinaasee sagal mangal sugi▫aanaa. The noose of Death is cut, meditating on the Imperishable Lord, and all happiness and wisdom are obtained. ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪੁ ਜਪੀਐ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥ हरि हरि जपु जपीऐ दिनु राती लागै सहजि धिआना ॥ Har har jap japee▫æ ḋin raaṫee laagæ sahj ḋʰi▫aanaa. Chant, and meditate, day and night, on the Lord, Har, Har. Focus your meditation on the Celestial Lord. ਕਲਮਲ ਦੁਖ ਜਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਸੀ ॥ कलमल दुख जारे प्रभू चितारे मन की दुरमति नासी ॥ Kalmal ḋukʰ jaaré parabʰoo chiṫaaré man kee ḋurmaṫ naasee. The painful sins are burnt away, by keeping God in one’s thoughts; evil-mindedness is erased. ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਸੁਣੀਅਹਿ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ॥੨॥ कहु नानक प्रभ किरपा कीजै हरि गुण सुणीअहि अविनासी ॥२॥ Kaho Naanak parabʰ kirpaa keejæ har guṇ suṇee▫ah avinaasee. ||2|| Says Nanak, O God, please be Merciful to me, so that I may listen to Your Glorious Praises, O Imperishable Lord. ||2|| ਕਰੋੜਿ ਹਸਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਟਹਲ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਚਰਣ ਚਲਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ॥ करोड़ि हसत तेरी टहल कमावहि चरण चलहि प्रभ मारगि राम ॥ Karoṛ hasaṫ ṫéree tahal kamaavėh charaṇ chalėh parabʰ maarag raam. Please give me millions of hands to serve You, God, and let my feet walk on Your Path. ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰ ਨਾਵ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਜੋ ਚੜੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਤਾਰਗਿ ਰਾਮ ॥ भव सागर नाव हरि सेवा जो चड़ै तिसु तारगि राम ॥ Bʰav saagar naav har sévaa jo chaṛæ ṫis ṫaarag raam. Service to the Lord is the boat to carry us across the terrifying world-ocean. ਭਵਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ भवजलु तरिआ हरि हरि सिमरिआ सगल मनोरथ पूरे ॥ Bʰavjal ṫari▫aa har har simri▫aa sagal manoraṫʰ pooré. So, cross over the terrifying world-ocean, meditating in remembrance of the Lord, Har, Har; all wishes shall be fulfilled. ਮਹਾ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਗਏ ਸੁਖ ਉਪਜੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਅਨਹਦ ਤੂਰੇ ॥ महा बिकार गए सुख उपजे बाजे अनहद तूरे ॥ Mahaa bikaar ga▫é sukʰ upjé baajé anhaḋ ṫooré. Even the worst corruption is taken away; peace wells up, and the unstruck celestial harmony vibrates and resounds. ਮਨ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਕੀਮ ਅਪਾਰਗਿ ॥ मन बांछत फल पाए सगले कुदरति कीम अपारगि ॥ Man baaⁿchʰaṫ fal paa▫é saglé kuḋraṫ keem apaarag. All the fruits of the mind’s desires are obtained; His creative power is infinitely valuable. ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ਮਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਚਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ॥੩॥ कहु नानक प्रभ किरपा कीजै मनु सदा चलै तेरै मारगि ॥३॥ Kaho Naanak parabʰ kirpaa keejæ man saḋaa chalæ ṫéræ maarag. ||3|| Says Nanak, please be Merciful to me, God, so that my mind may follow Your Path forever. ||3|| ਏਹੋ ਵਰੁ ਏਹਾ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਇਹੁ ਧਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ एहो वरु एहा वडिआई इहु धनु होइ वडभागा राम ॥ Ého var éhaa vadi▫aa▫ee ih ḋʰan ho▫é vadbʰaagaa raam. This opportunity, this glorious greatness, this blessing and wealth, come by great good fortune. ਏਹੋ ਰੰਗੁ ਏਹੋ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਾ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਰਾਮ ॥ एहो रंगु एहो रस भोगा हरि चरणी मनु लागा राम ॥ Ého rang ého ras bʰogaa har charṇee man laagaa raam. These pleasures, these delightful enjoyments, come when my mind is attached to the Lord’s Feet. ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਚਰਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣੇ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਗੋਪਾਲਾ ॥ मनु लागा चरणे प्रभ की सरणे करण कारण गोपाला ॥ Man laagaa charṇé parabʰ kee sarṇé karaṇ kaaraṇ gopaalaa. My mind is attached to God’s Feet; I seek His Sanctuary. He is the Creator, the Cause of all causes, the Cherisher of the world. ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ सभु किछु तेरा तू प्रभु मेरा मेरे ठाकुर दीन दइआला ॥ Sabʰ kichʰ ṫéraa ṫoo parabʰ méraa méré tʰaakur ḋeen ḋa▫i▫aalaa. Everything is Yours; You are my God, O my Lord and Master, Merciful to the meek. ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥ मोहि निरगुण प्रीतम सुख सागर संतसंगि मनु जागा ॥ Mohi nirguṇ pareeṫam sukʰ saagar saṫsang man jaagaa. I am worthless, O my Beloved, ocean of peace. In the Saints’ Congregation, my mind is awakened. ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਨੑੀ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥੪॥੩॥੬॥ कहु नानक प्रभि किरपा कीन्ही चरण कमल मनु लागा ॥४॥३॥६॥ Kaho Naanak parabʰ kirpaa keenĥee charaṇ kamal man laagaa. ||4||3||6|| Says Nanak, God has been Merciful to me; my mind is attached to His Lotus Feet. ||4||3||6||
