ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ बिलावलु महला ५ ॥ Bilaaval mėhlaa 5. Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl: ਉਦਮੁ ਕਰਤ ਆਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ उदमु करत आनदु भइआ सिमरत सुख सारु ॥ Uḋam karaṫ aanaḋ bʰa▫i▫aa simraṫ sukʰ saar. Try to meditate, and contemplate the source of peace, and bliss will come to you. ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਕਾ ਪੂਰਨ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ जपि जपि नामु गोबिंद का पूरन बीचारु ॥१॥ Jap jap naam gobinḋ kaa pooran beechaar. ||1|| Chanting, and meditating on the Name of the Lord of the Universe, perfect understanding is achieved. ||1|| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਜਪਤ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ॥ चरन कमल गुर के जपत हरि जपि हउ जीवा ॥ Charan kamal gur ké japaṫ har jap ha▫o jeevaa. Meditating on the Lotus Feet of the Guru, and chanting the Name of the Lord, I live. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਆਰਾਧਤੇ ਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ पारब्रहमु आराधते मुखि अमृतु पीवा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Paarbarahm aaraaḋʰ▫ṫé mukʰ amriṫ peevaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. worshiping the Supreme Lord God in adoration, my mouth drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar. ||1||Pause|| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਬਸੇ ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਲੋਚ ॥ जीअ जंत सभि सुखि बसे सभ कै मनि लोच ॥ Jee▫a janṫ sabʰ sukʰ basé sabʰ kæ man loch. All beings and creatures dwell in peace; the minds of all yearn for the Lord. ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੁ ਨਿਤ ਚਿਤਵਤੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੁ ਪੋਚ ॥੨॥ परउपकारु नित चितवते नाही कछु पोच ॥२॥ Par▫upkaar niṫ chiṫvaṫé naahee kachʰ poch. ||2|| Those who continually remember the Lord, do good deeds for others; they harbor no ill will towards anyone. ||2|| ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਬਸੰਤ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ धंनु सु थानु बसंत धंनु जह जपीऐ नामु ॥ Ḋʰan so ṫʰaan basanṫ ḋʰan jah japee▫æ naam. Blessed is that place, and blessed are those who dwell there, where they chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਤਿ ਘਨਾ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮੁ ॥੩॥ कथा कीरतनु हरि अति घना सुख सहज बिस्रामु ॥३॥ Kaṫʰaa keerṫan har aṫ gʰanaa sukʰ sahj bisraam. ||3|| The Sermon and the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises are sung there very often; there is peace, poise and tranquility. ||3|| ਮਨ ਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਅਨਾਥ ਕੋ ਨਾਥ ॥ मन ते कदे न वीसरै अनाथ को नाथ ॥ Man ṫé kaḋé na veesræ anaaṫʰ ko naaṫʰ. In my mind, I never forget the Lord; He is the Master of the masterless. ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹਾਥ ॥੪॥੨੯॥੫੯॥ नानक प्रभ सरणागती जा कै सभु किछु हाथ ॥४॥२९॥५९॥ Naanak parabʰ sarṇaagaṫee jaa kæ sabʰ kichʰ haaṫʰ. ||4||29||59|| Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God; everything is in His hands. ||4||29||59|| ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਬੰਧਿ ਕਰਿ ਛੋਡਿਆ ਫੁਨਿ ਸੁਖ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ जिनि तू बंधि करि छोडिआ फुनि सुख महि पाइआ ॥ Jin ṫoo banḋʰ kar chʰodi▫aa fun sukʰ mėh paa▫i▫aa. The One who bound you in the womb and then released you, placed you in the world of joy. ਸਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਸੀਤਲ ਹੋਤਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ सदा सिमरि चरणारबिंद सीतल होताइआ ॥१॥ Saḋaa simar charṇaarbinḋ seeṫal hoṫaa▫i▫aa. ||1|| Contemplate His Lotus Feet forever, and you shall be cooled and soothed. ||1||
