ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ रामकली महला ५ ॥ Raamkalee mėhlaa 5. Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl: ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਬਨਾਈ ਕਾਛਿ ॥ करि संजोगु बनाई काछि ॥ Kar sanjog banaa▫ee kaachʰ. Joining the elements together, the robe of the body is fashioned. ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਇਆਨਾ ਰਾਚਿ ॥ तिसु संगि रहिओ इआना राचि ॥ Ṫis sang rahi▫o i▫aanaa raach. The ignorant fool is engrossed in it. ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥ प्रतिपारै नित सारि समारै ॥ Parṫipaaræ niṫ saar samaaræ. He cherishes it, and constantly takes care of it. ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ अंत की बार ऊठि सिधारै ॥१॥ Anṫ kee baar ootʰ siḋʰaaræ. ||1|| But at the very last moment, he must arise and depart. ||1|| ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥ नाम बिना सभु झूठु परानी ॥ Naam binaa sabʰ jʰootʰ paraanee. Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, everything is false, O mortal. ਗੋਵਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੂਠੁ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गोविद भजन बिनु अवर संगि राते ते सभि माइआ मूठु परानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Goviḋ bʰajan bin avar sang raaṫé ṫé sabʰ maa▫i▫aa mootʰ paraanee. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Those who do not vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the Universe, but instead are imbued with other things, - all those mortals are plundered by Maya. ||1||Pause|| ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਇ ਨ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਮੈਲੁ ॥ तीरथ नाइ न उतरसि मैलु ॥ Ṫiraṫʰ naa▫é na uṫras mæl. Bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, filth is not washed off. ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਫੈਲੁ ॥ करम धरम सभि हउमै फैलु ॥ Karam ḋʰaram sabʰ ha▫umæ fæl. Religious rituals are all just egotistical displays. ਲੋਕ ਪਚਾਰੈ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਇ ॥ लोक पचारै गति नही होइ ॥ Lok pachaaræ gaṫ nahee ho▫é. By pleasing and appeasing people, no one is saved. ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਣੇ ਚਲਸਹਿ ਰੋਇ ॥੨॥ नाम बिहूणे चलसहि रोइ ॥२॥ Naam bihooṇé chalsahi ro▫é. ||2|| Without the Naam, they shall depart weeping. ||2|| ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਟੂਟਸਿ ਪਟਲ ॥ बिनु हरि नाम न टूटसि पटल ॥ Bin har naam na tootas patal. Without the Lord’s Name, the screen is not torn away. ਸੋਧੇ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਗਲ ॥ सोधे सासत्र सिम्रिति सगल ॥ Soḋʰé saasṫar simriṫ sagal. I have studied all the Shastras and Smritis. ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਏ ॥ सो नामु जपै जिसु आपि जपाए ॥ So naam japæ jis aap japaa▫é. He alone chants the Naam, whom the Lord Himself inspires to chant. ਸਗਲ ਫਲਾ ਸੇ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥ सगल फला से सूखि समाए ॥३॥ Sagal falaa sé sookʰ samaa▫é. ||3|| He obtains all fruits and rewards, and merges in peace. ||3|| ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਆਪਿ ॥ राखनहारे राखहु आपि ॥ Raakʰanhaaré raakʰo aap. O Savior Lord, please save me! ਸਗਲ ਸੁਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥ सगल सुखा प्रभ तुमरै हाथि ॥ Sagal sukʰaa parabʰ ṫumræ haaṫʰ. All peace and comforts are in Your Hand, God. ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ जितु लावहि तितु लागह सुआमी ॥ Jiṫ laavėh ṫiṫ laagah su▫aamee. Whatever you attach me to, to that I am attached, O my Lord and Master. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੨੪॥ नानक साहिबु अंतरजामी ॥४॥१३॥२४॥ Naanak saahib anṫarjaamee. ||4||13||24|| O Nanak! The Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||13||24||
