Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:

ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਰਮੈ ਪਾਇਆ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
करमु होवै ता सतिगुरु पाईऐ विणु करमै पाइआ न जाइ ॥
Karam hovæ ṫaa saṫgur paa▫ee▫æ viṇ karmæ paa▫i▫aa na jaa▫é.
If it is in his karma, then he finds the True Guru; without such karma, He cannot be found.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਈਐ ਜਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਹੋਇ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
सतिगुरु मिलिऐ कंचनु होईऐ जां हरि की होइ रजाइ ॥१॥
Saṫgur mili▫æ kanchan ho▫ee▫æ jaaⁿ har kee ho▫é rajaa▫é. ||1||
He meets the True Guru, and he is transformed into gold, if it is the Lord’s Will. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
मन मेरे हरि हरि नामि चितु लाइ ॥
Man méré har har naam chiṫ laa▫é.
O my mind! Focus your consciousness on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਾਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतिगुर ते हरि पाईऐ साचा हरि सिउ रहै समाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṫgur ṫé har paa▫ee▫æ saachaa har si▫o rahæ samaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Lord is found through the True Guru, and then he remains merged with the True Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੰਸਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
सतिगुर ते गिआनु ऊपजै तां इह संसा जाइ ॥
Saṫgur ṫé gi▫aan oopjæ ṫaaⁿ ih sansaa jaa▫é.
Spiritual wisdom wells up through the True Guru, and then this cynicism is dispelled.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਬੁਝੀਐ ਗਰਭ ਜੋਨੀ ਨਹ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
सतिगुर ते हरि बुझीऐ गरभ जोनी नह पाइ ॥२॥
Saṫgur ṫé har bujʰee▫æ garabʰ jonee nah paa▫é. ||2||
Through the True Guru, the Lord is realized, and then, he is not consigned to the womb of reincarnation ever again. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਮਰਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
गुर परसादी जीवत मरै मरि जीवै सबदु कमाइ ॥
Gur parsaadee jeevaṫ maræ mar jeevæ sabaḋ kamaa▫é.
By Guru’s Grace, the mortal dies while living (removes worldly desires), and by so dying, lives to practice the Word of the Shabad.

ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਏ ਜਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੩॥
मुकति दुआरा सोई पाए जि विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥३॥
Mukaṫ ḋu▫aaraa so▫ee paa▫é jė vichahu aap gavaa▫é. ||3||
He alone finds the Door of Salvation, who eradicates self-conceit from within himself. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਿਵ ਘਰਿ ਜੰਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਸਕਤਿ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
गुर परसादी सिव घरि जंमै विचहु सकति गवाइ ॥
Gur parsaadee siv gʰar jammæ vichahu sakaṫ gavaa▫é.
By Guru’s Grace, the mortal is reincarnated into the Home of the Lord, having eradicated Maya from within.

ਅਚਰੁ ਚਰੈ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਏ ਪੁਰਖੈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
अचरु चरै बिबेक बुधि पाए पुरखै पुरखु मिलाइ ॥४॥
Achar charæ bibék buḋʰ paa▫é purkʰæ purakʰ milaa▫é. ||4||
If one controls the difficult mind, he is blessed with a discriminating intellect; he meets the Supreme Person, the Primal Lord God. ||4||

ਧਾਤੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਅਚੇਤੁ ਹੈ ਚਲੈ ਮੂਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
धातुर बाजी संसारु अचेतु है चलै मूलु गवाइ ॥
Ḋʰaaṫur baajee sansaar achéṫ hæ chalæ mool gavaa▫é.
The world is unconscious, like a passing show; the mortal departs, having lost his capital.

ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮੀ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥੫॥
लाहा हरि सतसंगति पाईऐ करमी पलै पाइ ॥५॥
Laahaa har saṫsangaṫ paa▫ee▫æ karmee palæ paa▫é. ||5||
The profit of the Lord is obtained in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; by good karma, it is found. ||5||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਵਿਣੁ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥
सतिगुर विणु किनै न पाइआ मनि वेखहु रिदै बीचारि ॥
Saṫgur viṇ kinæ na paa▫i▫aa man vékʰhu riḋæ beechaar.
Without the True Guru, no one finds it; see this in your mind, and consider this in your heart.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਉਤਰੇ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੬॥
वडभागी गुरु पाइआ भवजलु उतरे पारि ॥६॥
vadbʰaagee gur paa▫i▫aa bʰavjal uṫré paar. ||6||
By great good fortune, the mortal finds the Guru, and crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. ||6||
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
हरि नामां हरि टेक है हरि हरि नामु अधारु ॥
Har naamaaⁿ har ték hæ har har naam aḋʰaar.
The Name of the Lord is my Anchor and Support. I take only the Support of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.

ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਵਉ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੭॥
क्रिपा करहु गुरु मेलहु हरि जीउ पावउ मोख दुआरु ॥७॥
Kirpaa karahu gur mélhu har jee▫o paava▫o mokʰ ḋu▫aar. ||7||
O Dear Lord, please be kind and lead me to meet the Guru, so that I may find the Door of Salvation. ||7||

ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਲਾਟਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਮੇਟਣਾ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
मसतकि लिलाटि लिखिआ धुरि ठाकुरि मेटणा न जाइ ॥
Masṫak lilaat likʰi▫aa ḋʰur tʰaakur métṇaa na jaa▫é.
The preordained destiny inscribed on the mortal’s forehead by our Lord and Master cannot be erased.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਏ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਇ ॥੮॥੧॥
नानक से जन पूरन होए जिन हरि भाणा भाइ ॥८॥१॥
Naanak sé jan pooran ho▫é jin har bʰaaṇaa bʰaa▫é. ||8||1||
O Nanak! Those humble beings are perfect, who are pleased by the Lord’s Will. ||8||1||

ਬੇਦ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਗੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਕਰੇ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
बेद बाणी जगु वरतदा त्रै गुण करे बीचारु ॥
Béḋ baṇee jag varaṫḋaa ṫaræ guṇ karé beechaar.
The world is involved with the words of the Vedas, thinking about the three gunas - the three dispositions.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ ਸਹੈ ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥
बिनु नावै जम डंडु सहै मरि जनमै वारो वार ॥
Bin naavæ jam dand sahæ mar janmæ vaaro vaar.
Without the Name, it suffers punishment by the Messenger of Death; it comes and goes in reincarnation, over and over again.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਾਏ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥੧॥
सतिगुर भेटे मुकति होइ पाए मोख दुआरु ॥१॥
Saṫgur bʰété mukaṫ ho▫é paa▫é mokʰ ḋu▫aar. ||1||
Meeting with the True Guru, the world is liberated, and finds the Door of Salvation. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
मन रे सतिगुरु सेवि समाइ ॥
Man ré saṫgur sév samaa▫é.
O mortal, immerse yourself in service to the True Guru.
|
ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
वडै भागि गुरु पूरा पाइआ हरि हरि नामु धिआइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
vadæ bʰaag gur pooraa paa▫i▫aa har har naam ḋʰi▫aa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
By great good fortune, the mortal finds the Perfect Guru, and meditates on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
हरि आपणै भाणै स्रिसटि उपाई हरि आपे देइ अधारु ॥
Har aapṇæ bʰaaṇæ sarisat upaa▫ee har aapé ḋé▫é aḋʰaar.
The Lord, by the Pleasure of His Own Will, created the Universe, and the Lord Himself gives it sustenance and support.

ਹਰਿ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਕੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
हरि आपणै भाणै मनु निरमलु कीआ हरि सिउ लागा पिआरु ॥
Har aapṇæ bʰaaṇæ man nirmal kee▫aa har si▫o laagaa pi▫aar.
The Lord, by His Own Will, makes the mortal’s mind immaculate, and lovingly attunes him to the Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਸਭੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੨॥
हरि कै भाणै सतिगुरु भेटिआ सभु जनमु सवारणहारु ॥२॥
Har kæ bʰaaṇæ saṫgur bʰéti▫aa sabʰ janam savaaraṇhaar. ||2||
The Lord, by His Own Will, leads the mortal to meet the True Guru, the Embellisher of all his lives. ||2||

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
वाहु वाहु बाणी सति है गुरमुखि बूझै कोइ ॥
vaahu vaahu baṇee saṫ hæ gurmukʰ boojʰæ ko▫é.
‘Waaho! Waaho!’ Blessed and Great is the True Word of His Bani. Only a few, as Gurmukh, understand.

ਵਾਹੁ ਵਾਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
वाहु वाहु करि प्रभु सालाहीऐ तिसु जेवडु अवरु न कोइ ॥
vaahu vaahu kar parabʰ salaahee▫æ ṫis jévad avar na ko▫é.
‘Waaho! Waaho!’ Praise God as Great! No one else is as Great as He.

ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
आपे बखसे मेलि लए करमि परापति होइ ॥३॥
Aapé bakʰsé mél la▫é karam paraapaṫ ho▫é. ||3||
When God’s Grace is received, He Himself forgives the mortal, and unites him with Himself. ||3||
|
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮਾਹਰੋ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ਦਿਖਾਇ ॥
साचा साहिबु माहरो सतिगुरि दीआ दिखाइ ॥
Saachaa saahib maahro saṫgur ḋee▫aa ḋikʰaa▫é.
The True Guru has revealed our True, Supreme Lord and Master.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਵਰਸੈ ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਐ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
अमृतु वरसै मनु संतोखीऐ सचि रहै लिव लाइ ॥
Amriṫ varsæ man sanṫokʰee▫æ sach rahæ liv laa▫é.
The Ambrosial Nectar rains down and the mind is satisfied, remaining lovingly attuned to the True Lord.

ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਹਰੀਆਵਲੀ ਫਿਰਿ ਸੁਕੈ ਨਾ ਕੁਮਲਾਇ ॥੪॥
हरि कै नाइ सदा हरीआवली फिरि सुकै ना कुमलाइ ॥४॥
Har kæ naa▫é saḋaa haree▫aavalee fir sukæ naa kumlaa▫é. ||4||
In the Lord’s Name, it is forever rejuvenated; it shall never wither and dry up again. ||4||
