ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਹੈ ਬਣੀ ॥
सतिगुर सेवा सफल है बणी ॥
Saṫgur sévaa safal hæ baṇee.
Service to the True Guru is fruitful and rewarding;
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਧਣੀ ॥
जितु मिलि हरि नामु धिआइआ हरि धणी ॥
Jiṫ mil har naam ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa har ḋʰaṇee.
meeting Him, I meditate on the Name of the Lord, the Lord Master.

ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੀਛੈ ਛੂਟੀ ਘਣੀ ॥੧॥
जिन हरि जपिआ तिन पीछै छूटी घणी ॥१॥
Jin har japi▫aa ṫin peechʰæ chʰootee gʰaṇee. ||1||
So many are emancipated along with those who meditate on the Lord. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਹੁ ਮੇਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥
गुरसिख हरि बोलहु मेरे भाई ॥
Gursikʰ har bolhu méré bʰaa▫ee.
O GurSikhs, chant the Name of the Lord, O my Siblings of Destiny.

ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲਤ ਸਭ ਪਾਪ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि बोलत सभ पाप लहि जाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har bolaṫ sabʰ paap lėh jaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Chanting the Lord’s Name, all sins are washed away. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਬ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਤਬ ਮਨੁ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
जब गुरु मिलिआ तब मनु वसि आइआ ॥
Jab gur mili▫aa ṫab man vas aa▫i▫aa.
When one meets the Guru, then the mind becomes centered.
|
ਧਾਵਤ ਪੰਚ ਰਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
धावत पंच रहे हरि धिआइआ ॥
Ḋʰaavaṫ panch rahé har ḋʰi▫aa▫i▫aa.
The five passions, running wild, are brought to rest by meditating on the Lord.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਗਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
अनदिनु नगरी हरि गुण गाइआ ॥२॥
An▫ḋin nagree har guṇ gaa▫i▫aa. ||2||
Night and day, within the body-village, the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||2||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਧੂਰਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਈ ॥
सतिगुर पग धूरि जिना मुखि लाई ॥
Saṫgur pag ḋʰoor jinaa mukʰ laa▫ee.
Those who apply the dust of the Feet of the True Guru to their faces,
|
ਤਿਨ ਕੂੜ ਤਿਆਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ ॥
तिन कूड़ तिआगे हरि लिव लाई ॥
Ṫin kooṛ ṫi▫aagé har liv laa▫ee.
renounce falsehood and enshrine love for the Lord.

ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਭਾਈ ॥੩॥
ते हरि दरगह मुख ऊजल भाई ॥३॥
Ṫé har ḋargėh mukʰ oojal bʰaa▫ee. ||3||
Their faces are radiant in the Court of the Lord, O Siblings of Destiny. ||3||
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥
गुर सेवा आपि हरि भावै ॥
Gur sévaa aap har bʰaavæ.
Service to the Guru is pleasing to the Lord Himself.
|
ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨੁ ਬਲਭਦ੍ਰੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਗ ਲਗਿ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
क्रिसनु बलभद्रु गुर पग लगि धिआवै ॥
Krisan balbʰaḋaro gur pag lag ḋʰi▫aavæ.
Even Krishna and Balbhadar meditated on the Lord, falling at the Guru’s Feet.

ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਤਰਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੫॥੪੩॥
नानक गुरमुखि हरि आपि तरावै ॥४॥५॥४३॥
Naanak gurmukʰ har aap ṫaraavæ. ||4||5||43||
O Nanak! The Lord Himself saves the Gurmukhs. ||4||5||43||

ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜੋਗੀ ਡੰਡਾਧਾਰੀ ॥
हरि आपे जोगी डंडाधारी ॥
Har aapé jogee dandaaḋʰaaree.
The Lord Himself is the Yogi, who wields the staff of authority.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
हरि आपे रवि रहिआ बनवारी ॥
Har aapé rav rahi▫aa banvaaree.
The Lord Himself is deeply absorbed in His primal trance.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਤਪੁ ਤਾਪੈ ਲਾਇ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
हरि आपे तपु तापै लाइ तारी ॥१॥
Har aapé ṫap ṫaapæ laa▫é ṫaaree. ||1||
The Lord Himself practices tapa - intense self-disciplined meditation. ||1||
|
ਐਸਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
ऐसा मेरा रामु रहिआ भरपूरि ॥
Æsaa méraa raam rahi▫aa bʰarpoor.
Such is my Lord, who is all-pervading everywhere.

ਨਿਕਟਿ ਵਸੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
निकटि वसै नाही हरि दूरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Nikat vasæ naahee har ḋoor. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He dwells near at hand - the Lord is not far away. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਆਪੇ ॥
हरि आपे सबदु सुरति धुनि आपे ॥
Har aapé sabaḋ suraṫ ḋʰun aapé.
The Lord Himself is the Word of the Shabad. He Himself is the awareness, attuned to its music.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਵਿਗਸੈ ਆਪੇ ॥
हरि आपे वेखै विगसै आपे ॥
Har aapé vékʰæ vigsæ aapé.
The Lord Himself beholds, and He Himself blossoms forth.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਇ ਆਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੇ ॥੨॥
हरि आपि जपाइ आपे हरि जापे ॥२॥
Har aap japaa▫é aapé har jaapé. ||2||
The Lord Himself chants, and the Lord Himself inspires others to chant. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਧਾਰਾ ॥
हरि आपे सारिंग अमृतधारा ॥
Har aapé saaring amriṫ▫ḋʰaara.
He Himself is the rainbird, and the Ambrosial Nectar raining down.
|
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਪਿ ਪੀਆਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
हरि अमृतु आपि पीआवणहारा ॥
Har amriṫ aap pee▫aavaṇhaaraa.
The Lord is the Ambrosial Nectar; He Himself leads us to drink it in.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਆਪੇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥੩॥
हरि आपि करे आपे निसतारा ॥३॥
Har aap karé aapé nisṫaaraa. ||3||
The Lord Himself is the Doer; He Himself is our Saving Grace. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਬੇੜੀ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਤਾਰਾ ॥
हरि आपे बेड़ी तुलहा तारा ॥
Har aapé béṛee ṫulhaa ṫaaraa.
The Lord Himself is the Boat, the Raft and the Boatman.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ॥
हरि आपे गुरमती निसतारा ॥
Har aapé gurmaṫee nisṫaaraa.
The Lord Himself, through the Guru’s Teachings, saves us.
|
ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਵੈ ਪਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੪੪॥
हरि आपे नानक पावै पारा ॥४॥६॥४४॥
Har aapé Naanak paavæ paaraa. ||4||6||44||
O Nanak! The Lord Himself carries us across to the other side. ||4||6||44||

ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥
गउड़ी बैरागणि महला ४ ॥
Ga▫oṛee bæraagaṇ mėhlaa 4.
Gauree Bairaagan, Fourth Mehl:

ਸਾਹੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਧਣੀ ਜੈਸੀ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਸਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਤੈਸੀ ਹਮ ਲੇਹਿ ॥
साहु हमारा तूं धणी जैसी तूं रासि देहि तैसी हम लेहि ॥
Saahu hamaaraa ṫooⁿ ḋʰaṇee jæsee ṫooⁿ raas ḋėh ṫæsee ham léhi.
O Master, You are my Banker. I receive only that capital which You give me.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਣੰਜਹ ਰੰਗ ਸਿਉ ਜੇ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਦੇਹਿ ॥੧॥
हरि नामु वणंजह रंग सिउ जे आपि दइआलु होइ देहि ॥१॥
Har naam vaṇnjah rang si▫o jé aap ḋa▫i▫aal ho▫é ḋėh. ||1||
I would purchase the Lord’s Name with love, if You Yourself, in Your Mercy, would sell it to me. ||1||
|
ਹਮ ਵਣਜਾਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਕੇ ॥
हम वणजारे राम के ॥
Ham vaṇjaaré raam ké.
I am the merchant, the peddler of the Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਦੇ ਰਾਸਿ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि वणजु करावै दे रासि रे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har vaṇaj karaavæ ḋé raas ré. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I trade in the merchandise and capital of the Lord’s Name. ||1||Pause||
|
ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
लाहा हरि भगति धनु खटिआ हरि सचे साह मनि भाइआ ॥
Laahaa har bʰagaṫ ḋʰan kʰati▫aa har saché saah man bʰaa▫i▫aa.
I have earned the profit, the wealth of devotional worship of the Lord. I have become pleasing to the Mind of the Lord, the True Banker.

ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਖਰੁ ਲਦਿਆ ਜਮੁ ਜਾਗਾਤੀ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
हरि जपि हरि वखरु लदिआ जमु जागाती नेड़ि न आइआ ॥२॥
Har jap har vakʰar laḋi▫aa jam jaagaaṫee néṛ na aa▫i▫aa. ||2||
I chant and meditate on the Lord, loading the merchandise of the Lord’s Name. The Messenger of Death, the tax collector, does not even approach me. ||2||
|
ਹੋਰੁ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਵਾਪਾਰੀਏ ਅਨੰਤ ਤਰੰਗੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
होरु वणजु करहि वापारीए अनंत तरंगी दुखु माइआ ॥
Hor vaṇaj karahi vaapaaree▫é ananṫ ṫarangee ḋukʰ maa▫i▫aa.
Those traders who trade in other merchandise, are caught up in the endless waves of the pain of Maya.

ਓਇ ਜੇਹੈ ਵਣਜਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਇਆ ਫਲੁ ਤੇਹਾ ਤਿਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
ओइ जेहै वणजि हरि लाइआ फलु तेहा तिन पाइआ ॥३॥
O▫é jéhæ vaṇaj har laa▫i▫aa fal ṫéhaa ṫin paa▫i▫aa. ||3||
According to the business in which the Lord has placed them, so are the rewards they obtain. ||3||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵਣਜੁ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਦੇਈ ॥
हरि हरि वणजु सो जनु करे जिसु क्रिपालु होइ प्रभु देई ॥
Har har vaṇaj so jan karé jis kirpaal ho▫é parabʰ ḋé▫ee.
People trade in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, when God shows His Mercy and bestows it.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਲੇਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥੪੫॥
जन नानक साहु हरि सेविआ फिरि लेखा मूलि न लेई ॥४॥१॥७॥४५॥
Jan Naanak saahu har sévi▫aa fir lékʰaa mool na lé▫ee. ||4||1||7||45||
Servant Nanak serves the Lord, the Banker; he shall never again be called to render his account. ||4||1||7||45||

ਜਿਉ ਜਨਨੀ ਗਰਭੁ ਪਾਲਤੀ ਸੁਤ ਕੀ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਾ ॥
जिउ जननी गरभु पालती सुत की करि आसा ॥
Ji▫o jannee garabʰ paalṫee suṫ kee kar aasaa.
The mother nourishes the fetus in the womb, hoping for a son,
|
ਵਡਾ ਹੋਇ ਧਨੁ ਖਾਟਿ ਦੇਇ ਕਰਿ ਭੋਗ ਬਿਲਾਸਾ ॥
वडा होइ धनु खाटि देइ करि भोग बिलासा ॥
vadaa ho▫é ḋʰan kʰaat ḋé▫é kar bʰog bilaasaa.
who will grow and earn and give her money to enjoy herself.
|
ਤਿਉ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਦਾ ਦੇ ਆਪਿ ਹਥਾਸਾ ॥੧॥
तिउ हरि जन प्रीति हरि राखदा दे आपि हथासा ॥१॥
Ṫi▫o har jan pareeṫ har raakʰ▫ḋaa ḋé aap haṫʰaasaa. ||1||
In just the same way, the humble servant of the Lord loves the Lord, who extends His Helping Hand to us. ||1||
