ਬਿਆਪਤ ਹਰਖ ਸੋਗ ਬਿਸਥਾਰ ॥
बिआपत हरख सोग बिसथार ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ harakʰ sog bisṫʰaar.
It torments us with the expression of pleasure and pain.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਸੁਰਗ ਨਰਕ ਅਵਤਾਰ ॥
बिआपत सुरग नरक अवतार ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ surag narak avṫaar.
It torments us through incarnations in heaven and hell.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਧਨ ਨਿਰਧਨ ਪੇਖਿ ਸੋਭਾ ॥
बिआपत धन निरधन पेखि सोभा ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ ḋʰan nirḋʰan pékʰ sobʰaa.
It is seen to afflict the rich, the poor and the glorious.

ਮੂਲੁ ਬਿਆਧੀ ਬਿਆਪਸਿ ਲੋਭਾ ॥੧॥
मूलु बिआधी बिआपसि लोभा ॥१॥
Mool bi▫aaḋʰee bi▫aapas lobʰaa. ||1||
The source of this illness which torments us is greed. ||1||
|
ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰੀ ॥
माइआ बिआपत बहु परकारी ॥
Maa▫i▫aa bi▫aapaṫ baho parkaaree.
Maya torments us in so many ways.
|
ਸੰਤ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਓਟ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
संत जीवहि प्रभ ओट तुमारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sanṫ jeevėh parabʰ ot ṫumaaree. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
But the Saints live under Your Protection, God. ||1||Pause||

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
बिआपत अह्मबुधि का माता ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ ahaⁿ▫buḋʰ kaa maaṫaa.
It torments us through intoxication with intellectual pride.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
बिआपत पुत्र कलत्र संगि राता ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ puṫar kalṫar sang raaṫaa.
It torments us through the love of children and spouse.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਹਸਤਿ ਘੋੜੇ ਅਰੁ ਬਸਤਾ ॥
बिआपत हसति घोड़े अरु बसता ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ hasaṫ gʰoṛé ar basṫaa.
It torments us through elephants, horses and beautiful clothes.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਰੂਪ ਜੋਬਨ ਮਦ ਮਸਤਾ ॥੨॥
बिआपत रूप जोबन मद मसता ॥२॥
Bi▫aapaṫ roop joban maḋ masṫaa. ||2||
It torments us through the intoxication of wine and the beauty of youth. ||2||
|
ਬਿਆਪਤ ਭੂਮਿ ਰੰਕ ਅਰੁ ਰੰਗਾ ॥
बिआपत भूमि रंक अरु रंगा ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ bʰoom rank ar rangaa.
It torments landlords, paupers and lovers of pleasure.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਦ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੰਗਾ ॥
बिआपत गीत नाद सुणि संगा ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ geeṫ naaḋ suṇ sangaa.
It torments us through the sweet sounds of music and parties.

ਬਿਆਪਤ ਸੇਜ ਮਹਲ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
बिआपत सेज महल सीगार ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ séj mahal seegaar.
It torments us through beautiful beds, palaces and decorations.
|
ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਅੰਧਿਆਰ ॥੩॥
पंच दूत बिआपत अंधिआर ॥३॥
Panch ḋooṫ bi▫aapaṫ anḋʰi▫aar. ||3||
It torments us through the darkness of the five evil passions. ||3||
|
ਬਿਆਪਤ ਕਰਮ ਕਰੈ ਹਉ ਫਾਸਾ ॥
बिआपत करम करै हउ फासा ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ karam karæ ha▫o faasaa.
It torments those who act, entangled in ego.
|
ਬਿਆਪਤਿ ਗਿਰਸਤ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਉਦਾਸਾ ॥
बिआपति गिरसत बिआपत उदासा ॥
Bi▫aapaṫ girsaṫ bi▫aapaṫ uḋaasaa.
It torments us through household affairs, and it torments us in renunciation.

ਆਚਾਰ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਇਹ ਜਾਤਿ ॥
आचार बिउहार बिआपत इह जाति ॥
Aachaar bi▫uhaar bi▫aapaṫ ih jaaṫ.
It torments us through character, lifestyle and social status.

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਆਪਤ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰਾਤ ॥੪॥
सभ किछु बिआपत बिनु हरि रंग रात ॥४॥
Sabʰ kichʰ bi▫aapaṫ bin har rang raaṫ. ||4||
It torments us through everything, except for those who are imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||4||
|
ਸੰਤਨ ਕੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
संतन के बंधन काटे हरि राइ ॥
Sanṫan ké banḋʰan kaaté har raa▫é.
The Sovereign Lord King has cut away the bonds of His Saints.

ਤਾ ਕਉ ਕਹਾ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਮਾਇ ॥
ता कउ कहा बिआपै माइ ॥
Ṫaa ka▫o kahaa bi▫aapæ maa▫é.
How can Maya torment them?
|
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਧੂਰਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਈ ॥
कहु नानक जिनि धूरि संत पाई ॥
Kaho Naanak jin ḋʰoor sanṫ paa▫ee.
Says Nanak, who have obtained the dust of the feet of the Saints,

ਤਾ ਕੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਮਾਈ ॥੫॥੧੯॥੮੮॥
ता कै निकटि न आवै माई ॥५॥१९॥८८॥
Ṫaa kæ nikat na aavæ maa▫ee. ||5||19||88||
Maya does not draw near them. ||5||19||88||

गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ५ ॥

ਨੈਨਹੁ ਨੀਦ ਪਰ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥
नैनहु नीद पर द्रिसटि विकार ॥
Nænhu neeḋ par ḋarisat vikaar.
The eyes are asleep in corruption, gazing upon the beauty of another.
|
ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਸੋਏ ਸੁਣਿ ਨਿੰਦ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥
स्रवण सोए सुणि निंद वीचार ॥
Sarvaṇ so▫é suṇ ninḋ veechaar.
The ears are asleep, listening to slanderous stories.
|
ਰਸਨਾ ਸੋਈ ਲੋਭਿ ਮੀਠੈ ਸਾਦਿ ॥
रसना सोई लोभि मीठै सादि ॥
Rasnaa so▫ee lobʰ meetʰæ saaḋ.
The tongue is asleep, in its desire for sweet flavors.
|
ਮਨੁ ਸੋਇਆ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਸਮਾਦਿ ॥੧॥
मनु सोइआ माइआ बिसमादि ॥१॥
Man so▫i▫aa maa▫i▫aa bismaaḋ. ||1||
The mind is asleep, fascinated by Maya. ||1||
|
ਇਸੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਮਹਿ ਕੋਈ ਜਾਗਤੁ ਰਹੈ ॥
इसु ग्रिह महि कोई जागतु रहै ॥
Is garih mėh ko▫ee jaagaṫ rahæ.
Those who remain awake in this house are very rare;
|
ਸਾਬਤੁ ਵਸਤੁ ਓਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਲਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
साबतु वसतु ओहु अपनी लहै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saabaṫ vasaṫ oh apnee lahæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
by doing so, they receive the whole thing. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਗਲ ਸਹੇਲੀ ਅਪਨੈ ਰਸ ਮਾਤੀ ॥
सगल सहेली अपनै रस माती ॥
Sagal sahélee apnæ ras maaṫee.
All of my companions are intoxicated with their sensory pleasures;
|
ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਤੀ ॥
ग्रिह अपुने की खबरि न जाती ॥
Garih apuné kee kʰabar na jaaṫee.
they do not know how to guard their own home.

ਮੁਸਨਹਾਰ ਪੰਚ ਬਟਵਾਰੇ ॥
मुसनहार पंच बटवारे ॥
Musanhaar panch batvaaré.
The five thieves have plundered them;
|
ਸੂਨੇ ਨਗਰਿ ਪਰੇ ਠਗਹਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
सूने नगरि परे ठगहारे ॥२॥
Sooné nagar paré tʰag▫haaré. ||2||
the thugs descend upon the unguarded village. ||2||
|
ਉਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਬਾਪੁ ਨ ਮਾਈ ॥
उन ते राखै बापु न माई ॥
Un ṫé raakʰæ baap na maa▫ee.
Our mothers and fathers cannot save us from them;
|
ਉਨ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੈ ਮੀਤੁ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥
उन ते राखै मीतु न भाई ॥
Un ṫé raakʰæ meeṫ na bʰaa▫ee.
friends and brothers cannot protect us from them -
|
ਦਰਬਿ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਾ ਓਇ ਰਹਤੇ ॥
दरबि सिआणप ना ओइ रहते ॥
Ḋarab si▫aaṇap naa o▫é rahṫé.
they cannot be restrained by wealth or cleverness.
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਓਇ ਦੁਸਟ ਵਸਿ ਹੋਤੇ ॥੩॥
साधसंगि ओइ दुसट वसि होते ॥३॥
Saaḋʰsang o▫é ḋusat vas hoṫé. ||3||
Only through the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, can those villains be brought under control. ||3||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਾਰਿੰਗਪਾਣਿ ॥
करि किरपा मोहि सारिंगपाणि ॥
Kar kirpaa mohi saaringpaaṇ.
Have Mercy upon me, O Lord, Sustainer of the world.

ਸੰਤਨ ਧੂਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
संतन धूरि सरब निधान ॥
Sanṫan ḋʰoor sarab niḋʰaan.
The dust of the feet of the Saints is all the treasure I need.
|
ਸਾਬਤੁ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
साबतु पूंजी सतिगुर संगि ॥
Saabaṫ poonjee saṫgur sang.
In the Company of the True Guru, one’s investment remains intact.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਾਗੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੪॥
नानकु जागै पारब्रहम कै रंगि ॥४॥
Naanak jaagæ paarbarahm kæ rang. ||4||
Nanak is awake to the Love of the Supreme Lord. ||4||
|
ਸੋ ਜਾਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ॥
सो जागै जिसु प्रभु किरपालु ॥
So jaagæ jis parabʰ kirpaal.
He alone is awake, unto whom God shows His Mercy.

ਇਹ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੨੦॥੮੯॥
इह पूंजी साबतु धनु मालु ॥१॥ रहाउ दूजा ॥२०॥८९॥
Ih poonjee saabaṫ ḋʰan maal. ||1|| rahaa▫o ḋoojaa. ||20||89||
This investment, wealth and property shall remain intact. ||1||Second. Pause||20||89||

गउड़ी गुआरेरी महला ५ ॥

ਜਾ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਖਾਨ ਸੁਲਤਾਨ ॥
जा कै वसि खान सुलतान ॥
Jaa kæ vas kʰaan sulṫaan.
Kings and emperors are under His Power.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਵਸਿ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਜਹਾਨ ॥
जा कै वसि है सगल जहान ॥
Jaa kæ vas hæ sagal jahaan.
The whole world is under His Power.
|
ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕੀਆ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
जा का कीआ सभु किछु होइ ॥
Jaa kaa kee▫aa sabʰ kichʰ ho▫é.
Everything is done by His doing;
|
ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ॥੧॥
तिस ते बाहरि नाही कोइ ॥१॥
Ṫis ṫé baahar naahee ko▫é. ||1||
other than Him, there is nothing at all. ||1||
|
ਕਹੁ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
कहु बेनंती अपुने सतिगुर पाहि ॥
Kaho bénanṫee apuné saṫgur paahi.
Offer your prayers to your True Guru;
|
ਕਾਜ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ਦੇਇ ਨਿਬਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
काज तुमारे देइ निबाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kaaj ṫumaaré ḋé▫é nibaahi. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
He will resolve your affairs. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਦਰਬਾਰੁ ॥
सभ ते ऊच जा का दरबारु ॥
Sabʰ ṫé ooch jaa kaa ḋarbaar.
The Darbaar of His Court is the most exalted of all.
|
ਸਗਲ ਭਗਤ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
सगल भगत जा का नामु अधारु ॥
Sagal bʰagaṫ jaa kaa naam aḋʰaar.
His Name is the Support of all His devotees.

ਸਰਬ ਬਿਆਪਿਤ ਪੂਰਨ ਧਨੀ ॥
सरब बिआपित पूरन धनी ॥
Sarab bi▫aapaṫ pooran ḋʰanee.
The Perfect Master is pervading everywhere.
|
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਸੋਭਾ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਬਨੀ ॥੨॥
जा की सोभा घटि घटि बनी ॥२॥
Jaa kee sobʰaa gʰat gʰat banee. ||2||
His Glory is manifest in each and every heart. ||2||
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖ ਡੇਰਾ ਢਹੈ ॥
जिसु सिमरत दुख डेरा ढहै ॥
Jis simraṫ ḋukʰ déraa dʰahæ.
Remembering Him in meditation, the home of sorrow is abolished.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਜਮੁ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਕਹੈ ॥
जिसु सिमरत जमु किछू न कहै ॥
Jis simraṫ jam kichʰoo na kahæ.
Remembering Him in meditation, the Messenger of Death shall not touch you.
|
ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਹੋਤ ਸੂਕੇ ਹਰੇ ॥
जिसु सिमरत होत सूके हरे ॥
Jis simraṫ hoṫ sooké haré.
Remembering Him in meditation, the dry branches become green again.
