ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਏ ਛੁਟੀਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੪॥
आपि छडाए छुटीऐ सतिगुर चरण समालि ॥४॥
Aap chʰadaa▫é chʰutee▫æ saṫgur charaṇ samaal. ||4||
If the Lord Himself saves you, then you shall be saved. Dwell upon the Feet of the True Guru. ||4||
|
ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਦੇਹੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
मन करहला मेरे पिआरिआ विचि देही जोति समालि ॥
Man kar▫halaa méré pi▫aari▫aa vich ḋéhee joṫ samaal.
O my dear beloved camel-like mind, dwell upon the Divine Light within the body.

ਗੁਰਿ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਖਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰੀ ਦਇਆਲਿ ॥੫॥
गुरि नउ निधि नामु विखालिआ हरि दाति करी दइआलि ॥५॥
Gur na▫o niḋʰ naam vikʰaali▫aa har ḋaaṫ karee ḋa▫i▫aal. ||5||
The Guru has shown me the nine treasures of the Naam. The Merciful Lord has bestowed this gift. ||5||

ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲਾ ਤੂੰ ਚੰਚਲਾ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਛਡਿ ਵਿਕਰਾਲਿ ॥
मन करहला तूं चंचला चतुराई छडि विकरालि ॥
Man kar▫halaa ṫooⁿ chanchlaa chaṫuraa▫ee chʰad vikraal.
O camel-like mind, you are so fickle; give up your cleverness and corruption.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂੰ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਅੰਤ ਕਾਲਿ ॥੬॥
हरि हरि नामु समालि तूं हरि मुकति करे अंत कालि ॥६॥
Har har naam samaal ṫooⁿ har mukaṫ karé anṫ kaal. ||6||
Dwell upon the Name of the Lord, Har, Har; at the very last moment, the Lord shall liberate you. ||6||

ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਤੂੰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਰਤਨੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
मन करहला वडभागीआ तूं गिआनु रतनु समालि ॥
Man kar▫halaa vadbʰaagee▫aa ṫooⁿ gi▫aan raṫan samaal.
O camel-like mind, you are so very fortunate; dwell upon the jewel of spiritual wisdom.

ਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਖੜਗੁ ਹਥਿ ਧਾਰਿਆ ਜਮੁ ਮਾਰਿਅੜਾ ਜਮਕਾਲਿ ॥੭॥
गुर गिआनु खड़गु हथि धारिआ जमु मारिअड़ा जमकालि ॥७॥
Gur gi▫aan kʰaṛag haṫʰ ḋʰaari▫aa jam maari▫aṛaa jamkaal. ||7||
You hold in your hands the sword of the Guru’s spiritual wisdom; with this destroyer of death, kill the Messenger of Death. ||7||

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲੇ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭਵਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭਾਲਿ ॥
अंतरि निधानु मन करहले भ्रमि भवहि बाहरि भालि ॥
Anṫar niḋʰaan man kar▫halé bʰaram bʰavėh baahar bʰaal.
The treasure is deep within, O camel-like mind, but you wander around outside in doubt, searching for it.

ਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਲਧੜਾ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੮॥
गुरु पुरखु पूरा भेटिआ हरि सजणु लधड़ा नालि ॥८॥
Gur purakʰ pooraa bʰéti▫aa har sajaṇ laḋʰ▫ṛaa naal. ||8||
Meeting the Perfect Guru, the Primal Being, you shall discover that the Lord, your Best Friend, is with you. ||8||

ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੜੇ ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
रंगि रतड़े मन करहले हरि रंगु सदा समालि ॥
Rang raṫ▫ṛé man kar▫halé har rang saḋaa samaal.
You are engrossed in pleasures, O camel-like mind; dwell upon the Lord’s lasting love instead!

ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੯॥
हरि रंगु कदे न उतरै गुर सेवा सबदु समालि ॥९॥
Har rang kaḋé na uṫræ gur sévaa sabaḋ samaal. ||9||
The color of the Lord’s Love never fades away; serve the Guru, and dwell upon the Word of the Shabad. ||9||

ਹਮ ਪੰਖੀ ਮਨ ਕਰਹਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਤਰਵਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਕਾਲਿ ॥
हम पंखी मन करहले हरि तरवरु पुरखु अकालि ॥
Ham pankʰee man kar▫halé har ṫarvar purakʰ akaal.
We are birds, O camel-like mind; the Lord, the Immortal Primal Being, is the tree.

ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥੧੦॥੨॥
वडभागी गुरमुखि पाइआ जन नानक नामु समालि ॥१०॥२॥
vadbʰaagee gurmukʰ paa▫i▫aa jan Naanak naam samaal. ||10||2||
The Gurmukhs are very fortunate - they find it. O servant Nanak! Dwell upon the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||10||2||

ੴ ਸਤਿਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिनामु करता पुरखु गुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫnaam karṫaa purakʰ gur parsaaḋ.
One Universal Creator God. Truth Is The Name. Creative Being Personified. By Guru’s Grace:

ਜਬ ਇਹੁ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਤ ਗੁਮਾਨਾ ॥
जब इहु मन महि करत गुमाना ॥
Jab ih man mėh karaṫ gumaanaa.
When this mind is filled with pride,
|
ਤਬ ਇਹੁ ਬਾਵਰੁ ਫਿਰਤ ਬਿਗਾਨਾ ॥
तब इहु बावरु फिरत बिगाना ॥
Ṫab ih baavar firaṫ bigaanaa.
then it wanders around like a madman and a lunatic.
|
ਜਬ ਇਹੁ ਹੂਆ ਸਗਲ ਕੀ ਰੀਨਾ ॥
जब इहु हूआ सगल की रीना ॥
Jab ih hoo▫aa sagal kee reenaa.
But when it becomes the dust of all,
|
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਰਮਈਆ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਚੀਨਾ ॥੧॥
ता ते रमईआ घटि घटि चीना ॥१॥
Ṫaa ṫé rama▫ee▫aa gʰat gʰat cheenaa. ||1||
then it recognizes the Lord in each and every heart. ||1||
|
ਸਹਜ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਫਲੁ ਮਸਕੀਨੀ ॥
सहज सुहेला फलु मसकीनी ॥
Sahj suhélaa fal maskeenee.
The fruit of humility is intuitive peace and pleasure.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅਪੁਨੈ ਮੋਹਿ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतिगुर अपुनै मोहि दानु दीनी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṫgur apunæ mohi ḋaan ḋeenee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
My True Guru has given me this gift. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਬ ਕਿਸ ਕਉ ਇਹੁ ਜਾਨਸਿ ਮੰਦਾ ॥
जब किस कउ इहु जानसि मंदा ॥
Jab kis ka▫o ih jaanas manḋaa.
When he believes others to be bad,
|
ਤਬ ਸਗਲੇ ਇਸੁ ਮੇਲਹਿ ਫੰਦਾ ॥
तब सगले इसु मेलहि फंदा ॥
Ṫab saglé is mélėh fanḋaa.
then everyone lays traps for him.
|
ਮੇਰ ਤੇਰ ਜਬ ਇਨਹਿ ਚੁਕਾਈ ॥
मेर तेर जब इनहि चुकाई ॥
Mér ṫér jab inėh chukaa▫ee.
But when he stops thinking in terms of ’mine’ and ’yours’,
|
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਇਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਹੀ ਬੈਰਾਈ ॥੨॥
ता ते इसु संगि नही बैराई ॥२॥
Ṫaa ṫé is sang nahee bæraa▫ee. ||2||
then no one is angry with him. ||2||
|
ਜਬ ਇਨਿ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਅਪਨੀ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
जब इनि अपुनी अपनी धारी ॥
Jab in apunee apnee ḋʰaaree.
When he clings to ’my own, my own’,
|
ਤਬ ਇਸ ਕਉ ਹੈ ਮੁਸਕਲੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
तब इस कउ है मुसकलु भारी ॥
Ṫab is ka▫o hæ muskal bʰaaree.
then he is in deep trouble.
|
ਜਬ ਇਨਿ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
जब इनि करणैहारु पछाता ॥
Jab in karṇæhaar pachʰaaṫaa.
But when he recognizes the Creator Lord,
|
ਤਬ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਤਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
तब इस नो नाही किछु ताता ॥३॥
Ṫab is no naahee kichʰ ṫaaṫaa. ||3||
then he is free of torment. ||3||
|
ਜਬ ਇਨਿ ਅਪੁਨੋ ਬਾਧਿਓ ਮੋਹਾ ॥
जब इनि अपुनो बाधिओ मोहा ॥
Jab in apuno baaḋʰi▫o mohaa.
When he entangles himself in emotional attachment,
|
ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਸਦਾ ਜਮਿ ਜੋਹਾ ॥
आवै जाइ सदा जमि जोहा ॥
Aavæ jaa▫é saḋaa jam johaa.
he comes and goes in reincarnation, under the constant gaze of Death.
|
ਜਬ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਭਰਮਾ ॥
जब इस ते सभ बिनसे भरमा ॥
Jab is ṫé sabʰ binsé bʰarmaa.
But when all his doubts are removed,
|
ਭੇਦੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਹੈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ॥੪॥
भेदु नाही है पारब्रहमा ॥४॥
Bʰéḋ naahee hæ paarbrahmaa. ||4||
then there is no difference between him and the Supreme Lord God. ||4||
|
ਜਬ ਇਨਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੇ ਭੇਦਾ ॥
जब इनि किछु करि माने भेदा ॥
Jab in kichʰ kar maané bʰéḋaa.
When he perceives differences,
|
ਤਬ ਤੇ ਦੂਖ ਡੰਡ ਅਰੁ ਖੇਦਾ ॥
तब ते दूख डंड अरु खेदा ॥
Ṫab ṫé ḋookʰ dand ar kʰéḋaa.
then he suffers pain, punishment and sorrow.
|
ਜਬ ਇਨਿ ਏਕੋ ਏਕੀ ਬੂਝਿਆ ॥
जब इनि एको एकी बूझिआ ॥
Jab in éko ékee boojʰi▫aa.
But when he recognizes the One and Only Lord,
|
ਤਬ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝਿਆ ॥੫॥
तब ते इस नो सभु किछु सूझिआ ॥५॥
Ṫab ṫé is no sabʰ kichʰ soojʰi▫aa. ||5||
he understands everything. ||5||
|
ਜਬ ਇਹੁ ਧਾਵੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਅਰਥੀ ॥
जब इहु धावै माइआ अरथी ॥
Jab ih ḋʰaavæ maa▫i▫aa arṫʰee.
When he runs around for the sake of Maya and riches,
|
ਨਹ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ਨਹ ਤਿਸ ਲਾਥੀ ॥
नह त्रिपतावै नह तिस लाथी ॥
Nah ṫaripṫaavæ nah ṫis laaṫʰee.
he is not satisfied, and his desires are not quenched.
|
ਜਬ ਇਸ ਤੇ ਇਹੁ ਹੋਇਓ ਜਉਲਾ ॥
जब इस ते इहु होइओ जउला ॥
Jab is ṫé ih ho▫i▫o ja▫ulaa.
But when he runs away from Maya,
|
ਪੀਛੈ ਲਾਗਿ ਚਲੀ ਉਠਿ ਕਉਲਾ ॥੬॥
पीछै लागि चली उठि कउला ॥६॥
Peechʰæ laag chalee utʰ ka▫ulaa. ||6||
then the Goddess of Wealth gets up and follows him. ||6||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਓ ॥
करि किरपा जउ सतिगुरु मिलिओ ॥
Kar kirpaa ja▫o saṫgur mili▫o.
When, by His Grace, the True Guru is met,
|
ਮਨ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਜਲਿਓ ॥
मन मंदर महि दीपकु जलिओ ॥
Man manḋar mėh ḋeepak jali▫o.
the lamp is lit within the temple of the mind.
|
ਜੀਤ ਹਾਰ ਕੀ ਸੋਝੀ ਕਰੀ ॥
जीत हार की सोझी करी ॥
Jeeṫ haar kee sojʰee karee.
When he realizes what victory and defeat really are,
|
ਤਉ ਇਸੁ ਘਰ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਪਰੀ ॥੭॥
तउ इसु घर की कीमति परी ॥७॥
Ṫa▫o is gʰar kee keemaṫ paree. ||7||
then he comes to appreciate the true value of his own home. ||7||
