ਜਉ ਲਗੁ ਜੀਉ ਪਰਾਣ ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
जउ लगु जीउ पराण सचु धिआईऐ ॥
Ja▫o lag jee▫o paraaṇ sach ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ.
As long as there is the breath of life, meditate on the True Lord.

ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
लाहा हरि गुण गाइ मिलै सुखु पाईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Laahaa har guṇ gaa▫é milæ sukʰ paa▫ee▫æ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
You shall receive the profit of singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and find peace. ||1||Pause||

ਸਚੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਾਰ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲ ਤੂੰ ॥
सची तेरी कार देहि दइआल तूं ॥
Sachee ṫéree kaar ḋėh ḋa▫i▫aal ṫooⁿ.
True is Your Service; bless me with it, O Merciful Lord.

ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹਿ ਮੈ ਟੇਕ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਤੂੰ ॥੨॥
हउ जीवा तुधु सालाहि मै टेक अधारु तूं ॥२॥
Ha▫o jeevaa ṫuḋʰ saalaahi mæ ték aḋʰaar ṫooⁿ. ||2||
I live by praising You; You are my Anchor and Support. ||2||
|
ਦਰਿ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਦਰਵਾਨੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਹੀ ॥
दरि सेवकु दरवानु दरदु तूं जाणही ॥
Ḋar sévak ḋarvaan ḋaraḋ ṫooⁿ jaaṇhee.
I am Your servant, the gate-keeper at Your Gate; You alone know my pain.

ਭਗਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੈਰਾਨੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਗਵਾਵਹੀ ॥੩॥
भगति तेरी हैरानु दरदु गवावही ॥३॥
Bʰagaṫ ṫéree hæraan ḋaraḋ gavaavhee. ||3||
How wonderful is Your devotional worship! It removes all pains. ||3||
|
ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣਸੀ ॥
दरगह नामु हदूरि गुरमुखि जाणसी ॥
Ḋargėh naam haḋoor gurmukʰ jaaṇsee.
The Gurmukhs know that by chanting the Naam, they shall dwell in His Court, in His Presence.

ਵੇਲਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਸੀ ॥੪॥
वेला सचु परवाणु सबदु पछाणसी ॥४॥
vélaa sach parvaaṇ sabaḋ pachʰaaṇsee. ||4||
True and acceptable is that time, when one recognizes the Word of the Shabad. ||4||
|
ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਕਰਿ ਭਾਉ ਤੋਸਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇਇ ॥
सतु संतोखु करि भाउ तोसा हरि नामु सेइ ॥
Saṫ sanṫokʰ kar bʰaa▫o ṫosaa har naam sé▫é.
Those who practice Truth, contentment and love, obtain the supplies of the Lord’s Name.

ਮਨਹੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਇ ॥੫॥
मनहु छोडि विकार सचा सचु देइ ॥५॥
Manhu chʰod vikaar sachaa sach ḋé▫é. ||5||
So, banish corruption from your mind, and the True One will grant you Truth. ||5||
|
ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਨੇਹੁ ਸਚੈ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
सचे सचा नेहु सचै लाइआ ॥
Saché sachaa néhu sachæ laa▫i▫aa.
The True Lord inspires true love in the truthful people.
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਆਉ ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੬॥
आपे करे निआउ जो तिसु भाइआ ॥६॥
Aapé karé ni▫aa▫o jo ṫis bʰaa▫i▫aa. ||6||
He Himself administers justice, as it pleases His Will. ||6||
|
ਸਚੇ ਸਚੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ॥
सचे सची दाति देहि दइआलु है ॥
Saché sachee ḋaaṫ ḋėh ḋa▫i▫aal hæ.
True is the gift of the True, Compassionate Lord.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵੀ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਮੋਲੁ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
तिसु सेवी दिनु राति नामु अमोलु है ॥७॥
Ṫis sévee ḋin raaṫ naam amol hæ. ||7||
Day and night, I serve the One whose Name is priceless. ||7||
|
ਤੂੰ ਉਤਮੁ ਹਉ ਨੀਚੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਕਾਂਢੀਆ ॥
तूं उतमु हउ नीचु सेवकु कांढीआ ॥
Ṫooⁿ uṫam ha▫o neech sévak kaaⁿdʰee▫aa.
You are so sublime, and I am so lowly, but I am called Your slave.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇਹੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਵਾਂਢੀਆ ॥੮॥੨੧॥
नानक नदरि करेहु मिलै सचु वांढीआ ॥८॥२१॥
Naanak naḋar karéhu milæ sach vaaⁿdʰee▫aa. ||8||21||
Please, shower Nanak with Your Glance of Grace, that he, the separated one, may merge with You again, O Lord. ||8||21||

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਕਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਕਿਉ ਮੇਲਾ ਹੋਈ ॥
आवण जाणा किउ रहै किउ मेला होई ॥
Aavaṇ jaaṇaa ki▫o rahæ ki▫o mélaa ho▫ee.
How can coming and going, the cycle of reincarnation be ended? And how can one meet the Lord?

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਕਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਘਣੋ ਨਿਤ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੋਈ ॥੧॥
जनम मरण का दुखु घणो नित सहसा दोई ॥१॥
Janam maraṇ kaa ḋukʰ gʰaṇo niṫ sahsaa ḋo▫ee. ||1||
The pain of birth and death is so great, in constant skepticism and duality. ||1||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਜੀਵਨਾ ਫਿਟੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥
बिनु नावै किआ जीवना फिटु ध्रिगु चतुराई ॥
Bin naavæ ki▫aa jeevnaa fit ḋʰarig chaṫuraa▫ee.
Without the Name, what is life? Cleverness is detestable and cursed.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਾਧੁ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतिगुर साधु न सेविआ हरि भगति न भाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṫgur saaḋʰ na sévi▫aa har bʰagaṫ na bʰaa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
One who does not serve the Holy True Guru, is not pleased by devotion to the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਵਣੁ ਤਉ ਰਹੈ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
आवणु जावणु तउ रहै पाईऐ गुरु पूरा ॥
Aavaṇ jaavaṇ ṫa▫o rahæ paa▫ee▫æ gur pooraa.
Coming and going is ended only when one finds the True Guru.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ਦੇਇ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕੂਰਾ ॥੨॥
राम नामु धनु रासि देइ बिनसै भ्रमु कूरा ॥२॥
Raam naam ḋʰan raas ḋé▫é binsæ bʰaram kooraa. ||2||
He gives the wealth and capital of the Lord’s Name, and false doubt is destroyed. ||2||
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਧਨੁ ਧਨੁ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਏ ॥
संत जना कउ मिलि रहै धनु धनु जसु गाए ॥
Sanṫ janaa ka▫o mil rahæ ḋʰan ḋʰan jas gaa▫é.
Joining the humble Saintly beings, let us sing the blessed, blessed Praises of the Lord.

ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥
आदि पुरखु अपर्मपरा गुरमुखि हरि पाए ॥३॥
Aaḋ purakʰ apramparaa gurmukʰ har paa▫é. ||3||
The Primal Lord, the Infinite, is obtained by the Gurmukh. ||3||
|
ਨਟੂਐ ਸਾਂਗੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਬਾਜੀ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
नटूऐ सांगु बणाइआ बाजी संसारा ॥
Natoo▫æ saaⁿg baṇaa▫i▫aa baajee sansaaraa.
The drama of the world is staged like the show of a buffoon.

ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਬਾਜੀ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਉਝਰਤ ਨਹੀ ਬਾਰਾ ॥੪॥
खिनु पलु बाजी देखीऐ उझरत नही बारा ॥४॥
Kʰin pal baajee ḋékʰee▫æ ujʰraṫ nahee baaraa. ||4||
For an instant, for a moment, the show is seen, but it disappears in no time at all. ||4||
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਚਉਪੜਿ ਖੇਲਣਾ ਝੂਠੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥
हउमै चउपड़ि खेलणा झूठे अहंकारा ॥
Ha▫umæ cha▫upaṛ kʰélṇaa jʰootʰé ahaⁿkaaraa.
The game of chance is played on the board of egotism, with the pieces of falsehood and ego.

ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਹਾਰੈ ਸੋ ਜਿਣੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੫॥
सभु जगु हारै सो जिणै गुर सबदु वीचारा ॥५॥
Sabʰ jag haaræ so jiṇæ gur sabaḋ veechaaraa. ||5||
The whole world loses; he alone wins, who reflects upon the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||5||

ਜਿਉ ਅੰਧੁਲੈ ਹਥਿ ਟੋਹਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥
जिउ अंधुलै हथि टोहणी हरि नामु हमारै ॥
Ji▫o anḋʰulæ haṫʰ tohṇee har naam hamaaræ.
As is the cane in the hand of the blind man, so is the Lord’s Name for me.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਹਰਿ ਟੇਕ ਹੈ ਨਿਸਿ ਦਉਤ ਸਵਾਰੈ ॥੬॥
राम नामु हरि टेक है निसि दउत सवारै ॥६॥
Raam naam har ték hæ nis ḋa▫uṫ savaaræ. ||6||
The Lord’s Name is my Support, night and day and morning. ||6||
|
ਜਿਉ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਰਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
जिउ तूं राखहि तिउ रहा हरि नाम अधारा ॥
Ji▫o ṫooⁿ raakʰahi ṫi▫o rahaa har naam aḋʰaaraa.
As You keep me, Lord, I live; the Lord’s Name is my only Support.

ਅੰਤਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਨ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥੭॥
अंति सखाई पाइआ जन मुकति दुआरा ॥७॥
Anṫ sakʰaa▫ee paa▫i▫aa jan mukaṫ ḋu▫aaraa. ||7||
It is my only comfort in the end; the gate of salvation is found by His humble servants. ||7||
|
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਜਪਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
जनम मरण दुख मेटिआ जपि नामु मुरारे ॥
Janam maraṇ ḋukʰ méti▫aa jap naam muraaré.
The pain of birth and death is removed, by chanting and meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵੀਸਰੈ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੁ ਤਾਰੇ ॥੮॥੨੨॥
नानक नामु न वीसरै पूरा गुरु तारे ॥८॥२२॥
Naanak naam na veesræ pooraa gur ṫaaré. ||8||22||
O Nanak! One who does not forget the Naam, is saved by the Perfect Guru. ||8||22||

ਸਾਸਤੁ ਬੇਦੁ ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸੁਰਸਰੀ ਚਰਣ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
सासतु बेदु सिंम्रिति सरु तेरा सुरसरी चरण समाणी ॥
Saasaṫ béḋ simriṫ sar ṫéraa sursaree charaṇ samaaṇee.
The Shastras, the Vedas and the Smritis are contained in the ocean of Your Name; the River Ganges is held in Your Feet.

ਸਾਖਾ ਤੀਨਿ ਮੂਲੁ ਮਤਿ ਰਾਵੈ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਸਰਬ ਵਿਡਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
साखा तीनि मूलु मति रावै तूं तां सरब विडाणी ॥१॥
Saakʰaa ṫeen mool maṫ raavæ ṫooⁿ ṫaaⁿ sarab vidaaṇee. ||1||
The intellect can understand the world of the three modes, but You, O Primal Lord, are totally astounding. ||1||
|
ਤਾ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਜਪੈ ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੋਲੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ता के चरण जपै जनु नानकु बोले अमृत बाणी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫaa ké charaṇ japæ jan Naanak bolé amriṫ baṇee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Servant Nanak meditates on His Feet, and chants the Ambrosial Word of His Bani. ||1||Pause||

ਤੇਤੀਸ ਕਰੋੜੀ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮੑਾਰੇ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥
तेतीस करोड़ी दास तुम्हारे रिधि सिधि प्राण अधारी ॥
Ṫéṫees karoṛee ḋaas ṫumĥaaré riḋʰ siḋʰ paraaṇ aḋʰaaree.
Three hundred thirty million gods are Your servants. You bestow wealth, and the supernatural powers of the Siddhas; You are the Support of the breath of life.
