ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.

ਕਾਹੇ ਰੇ ਮਨ ਚਿਤਵਹਿ ਉਦਮੁ ਜਾ ਆਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਰਿਆ ॥
काहे रे मन चितवहि उदमु जा आहरि हरि जीउ परिआ ॥
Kaahé ré man chiṫvahi uḋam jaa aahar har jee▫o pari▫aa.
Why, O mind, do you contrive your schemes, when the Dear Lord Himself provides for your care?

ਸੈਲ ਪਥਰ ਮਹਿ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਏ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਆਗੈ ਕਰਿ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੧॥
सैल पथर महि जंत उपाए ता का रिजकु आगै करि धरिआ ॥१॥
Sæl paṫʰar mėh janṫ upaa▫é ṫaa kaa rijak aagæ kar ḋʰari▫aa. ||1||
From rocks and stones, He created the living beings, and He places before them their sustenance. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਾਧਉ ਜੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸਿ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
मेरे माधउ जी सतसंगति मिले सि तरिआ ॥
Méré maaḋʰa▫o jee saṫsangaṫ milé sė ṫari▫aa.
O my Dear Lord of Souls, one who meets with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, is saved.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੂਕੇ ਕਾਸਟ ਹਰਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर परसादि परम पदु पाइआ सूके कासट हरिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur parsaaḋ param paḋ paa▫i▫aa sooké kaasat hari▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
By Guru’s Grace, he obtains the supreme-status, and the dry branch blossoms forth in greenery. ||1||Pause||

ਜਨਨਿ ਪਿਤਾ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਕਿਸ ਕੀ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
जननि पिता लोक सुत बनिता कोइ न किस की धरिआ ॥
Janan piṫaa lok suṫ baniṫaa ko▫é na kis kee ḋʰari▫aa.
Mother, father, friends, children, and spouse - no one is the support of any other.

ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹੇ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਕਾਹੇ ਮਨ ਭਉ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
सिरि सिरि रिजकु स्मबाहे ठाकुरु काहे मन भउ करिआ ॥२॥
Sir sir rijak sambaahé tʰaakur kaahé man bʰa▫o kari▫aa. ||2||
For each and every individual, the Lord and Master provides sustenance; why do you fear, O my mind? ||2||
|
ਊਡੈ ਊਡਿ ਆਵੈ ਸੈ ਕੋਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਪਾਛੈ ਬਚਰੇ ਛਰਿਆ ॥
ऊडै ऊडि आवै सै कोसा तिसु पाछै बचरे छरिआ ॥
Oodæ ood aavæ sæ kosaa ṫis paachʰæ bachré chʰari▫aa.
The flamingos fly hundreds of miles, leaving their young ones behind.

ਉਨ ਕਵਨੁ ਖਲਾਵੈ ਕਵਨੁ ਚੁਗਾਵੈ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਕਰਿਆ ॥੩॥
उन कवनु खलावै कवनु चुगावै मन महि सिमरनु करिआ ॥३॥
Un kavan kʰalaavæ kavan chugaavæ man mėh simran kari▫aa. ||3||
Who feeds them, and who teaches them to feed themselves? Have you ever thought of this in your mind? ||3||
|
ਸਭ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਸ ਅਸਟ ਸਿਧਾਨ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਰ ਤਲ ਧਰਿਆ ॥
सभ निधान दस असट सिधान ठाकुर कर तल धरिआ ॥
Sabʰ niḋʰaan ḋas asat sidʰaan tʰaakur kar ṫal ḋʰari▫aa.
All treasures and the eighteen supernatural spiritual powers of the Siddhas are held by the Lord and Master in the palm of His hand.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਤੇਰਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਰਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥
जन नानक बलि बलि सद बलि जाईऐ तेरा अंतु न पारावरिआ ॥४॥१॥
Jan Naanak bal bal saḋ bal jaa▫ee▫æ ṫéraa anṫ na paraavari▫aa. ||4||1||
Servant Nanak is devoted, dedicated, and forever a sacrifice to You - Your vast expanse has no limit. ||4||1||

ਕਿਰਿਆਚਾਰ ਕਰਹਿ ਖਟੁ ਕਰਮਾ ਇਤੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
किरिआचार करहि खटु करमा इतु राते संसारी ॥
Kiri▫aachaar karahi kʰat karmaa iṫ raaṫé sansaaree.
They perform the four rituals and six religious rites; the world is engrossed in these.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
अंतरि मैलु न उतरै हउमै बिनु गुर बाजी हारी ॥१॥
Anṫar mæl na uṫræ ha▫umæ bin gur baajee haaree. ||1||
They are not cleansed of the filth of their ego within; without the Guru, they lose the game of life. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
मेरे ठाकुर रखि लेवहु किरपा धारी ॥
Méré tʰaakur rakʰ lévhu kirpaa ḋʰaaree.
O my Lord and Master, please, grant Your Grace and preserve me.

ਕੋਟਿ ਮਧੇ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਹੋਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कोटि मधे को विरला सेवकु होरि सगले बिउहारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kot maḋʰé ko virlaa sévak hor saglé bi▫uhaaree. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Out of millions, hardly anyone is a servant of the Lord. All the others are mere traders. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਭਿ ਸੋਧੇ ਸਭ ਏਕਾ ਬਾਤ ਪੁਕਾਰੀ ॥
सासत बेद सिम्रिति सभि सोधे सभ एका बात पुकारी ॥
Saasaṫ béḋ simriṫ sabʰ soḋʰé sabʰ ékaa baaṫ pukaaree.
I have searched all the Shastras, the Vedas and the Smritis, and they all affirm one thing:

ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਕੋਊ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਕਰਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
बिनु गुर मुकति न कोऊ पावै मनि वेखहु करि बीचारी ॥२॥
Bin gur mukaṫ na ko▫oo paavæ man vékʰhu kar beechaaree. ||2||
without the Guru, no one obtains liberation; see, and reflect upon this in your mind. ||2||
|
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨਾ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਏ ਧਰ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
अठसठि मजनु करि इसनाना भ्रमि आए धर सारी ॥
Atʰsatʰ majan kar isnaanaa bʰaram aa▫é ḋʰar saaree.
Even if one takes cleansing baths at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, and wanders over the whole planet,
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਸੋਚ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੀ ॥੩॥
अनिक सोच करहि दिन राती बिनु सतिगुर अंधिआरी ॥३॥
Anik soch karahi ḋin raaṫee bin saṫgur anḋʰi▫aaree. ||3||
and performs all the rituals of purification day and night, still, without the True Guru, there is only darkness. ||3||
|
ਧਾਵਤ ਧਾਵਤ ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਧਾਇਓ ਅਬ ਆਏ ਹਰਿ ਦੁਆਰੀ ॥
धावत धावत सभु जगु धाइओ अब आए हरि दुआरी ॥
Ḋʰaavaṫ ḋʰaavaṫ sabʰ jag ḋʰaa▫i▫o ab aa▫é har ḋu▫aaree.
Roaming and wandering around, I have traveled over the whole world, and now, I have arrived at the Lord’s Door.

ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੇਟਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੨॥
दुरमति मेटि बुधि परगासी जन नानक गुरमुखि तारी ॥४॥१॥२॥
Ḋurmaṫ mét buḋʰ pargaasee jan Naanak gurmukʰ ṫaaree. ||4||1||2||
The Lord has eliminated my evil-mindedness, and enlightened my intellect; O servant Nanak! The Gurmukhs are saved. ||4||1||2||

ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤਾਪ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਭਾਇਆ ॥
हरि धनु जाप हरि धनु ताप हरि धनु भोजनु भाइआ ॥
Har ḋʰan jaap har ḋʰan ṫaap har ḋʰan bʰojan bʰaa▫i▫aa.
The wealth of the Lord is my chanting, the wealth of the Lord is my deep meditation; the wealth of the Lord is the food I enjoy.

ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਬਿਸਰਉ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
निमख न बिसरउ मन ते हरि हरि साधसंगति महि पाइआ ॥१॥
Nimakʰ na bisara▫o man ṫé har har saaḋʰsangaṫ mėh paa▫i▫aa. ||1||
I do not forget the Lord, Har, Har, from my mind, even for an instant; I have found Him in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||1||
|
ਮਾਈ ਖਾਟਿ ਆਇਓ ਘਰਿ ਪੂਤਾ ॥
माई खाटि आइओ घरि पूता ॥
Maa▫ee kʰaat aa▫i▫o gʰar pooṫaa.
O mother, your son has returned home with a profit:
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਚਲਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੈਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਜਾਗਤ ਸੂਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हरि धनु चलते हरि धनु बैसे हरि धनु जागत सूता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Har ḋʰan chalṫé har ḋʰan bæsé har ḋʰan jaagaṫ sooṫaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
the wealth of the Lord while walking, the wealth of the Lord while sitting, and the wealth of the Lord while waking and sleeping. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥
हरि धनु इसनानु हरि धनु गिआनु हरि संगि लाइ धिआना ॥
Har ḋʰan isnaan har ḋʰan gi▫aan har sang laa▫é ḋʰi▫aanaa.
The wealth of the Lord is my cleansing bath, the wealth of the Lord is my wisdom; I center my meditation on the Lord.
|
ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਤੁਲਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਬੇੜੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰਿ ਪਰਾਨਾ ॥੨॥
हरि धनु तुलहा हरि धनु बेड़ी हरि हरि तारि पराना ॥२॥
Har ḋʰan ṫulhaa har ḋʰan béṛee har har ṫaar paraanaa. ||2||
The wealth of the Lord is my raft, the wealth of the Lord is my boat; the Lord, Har, Har, is the ship to carry me across. ||2||
