ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੪॥੧॥
नानक नामु मिलै मनु मानिआ ॥४॥१॥
Naanak naam milæ man maani▫aa. ||4||1||
O Nanak! Obtains the Naam; his mind is pleased and appeased. ||4||1||

Ḋʰanaasree mėhlaa 3.
Dhanaasaree, Third Mehl:

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
हरि नामु धनु निरमलु अति अपारा ॥
Har naam ḋʰan nirmal aṫ apaaraa.
The wealth of the Lord’s Name is immaculate, and absolutely infinite.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰਾ ॥
गुर कै सबदि भरे भंडारा ॥
Gur kæ sabaḋ bʰaré bʰandaaraa.
The Word of the Guru’s Shabad is overflowing with treasure.
|
ਨਾਮ ਧਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਹੋਰ ਸਭ ਬਿਖੁ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
नाम धन बिनु होर सभ बिखु जाणु ॥
Naam ḋʰan bin hor sabʰ bikʰ jaaṇ.
Know that, except for the wealth of the Name, all other wealth is poison.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਜਲੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥੧॥
माइआ मोहि जलै अभिमानु ॥१॥
Maa▫i▫aa mohi jalæ abʰimaan. ||1||
The egotistical people are burning in their attachment to Maya. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
गुरमुखि हरि रसु चाखै कोइ ॥
Gurmukʰ har ras chaakʰæ ko▫é.
How rare is that Gurmukh who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तिसु सदा अनंदु होवै दिनु राती पूरै भागि परापति होइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫis saḋaa anand hovæ ḋin raaṫee pooræ bʰaag paraapaṫ ho▫é. Rahaa▫o.
He is always in bliss, day and night; through perfect good destiny, he obtains the Name. ||Pause||
|
ਸਬਦੁ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਤਿਹੁ ਲੋਇ ॥
सबदु दीपकु वरतै तिहु लोइ ॥
Sabaḋ ḋeepak varṫæ ṫihu lo▫é.
The Word of the Shabad is a lamp, illuminating the three worlds.

ਜੋ ਚਾਖੈ ਸੋ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
जो चाखै सो निरमलु होइ ॥
Jo chaakʰæ so nirmal ho▫é.
One who tastes it, becomes immaculate.
|
ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਧੋਇ ॥
निरमल नामि हउमै मलु धोइ ॥
Nirmal naam ha▫umæ mal ḋʰo▫é.
The immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord, washes off the filth of ego.
|
ਸਾਚੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
साची भगति सदा सुखु होइ ॥२॥
Saachee bʰagaṫ saḋaa sukʰ ho▫é. ||2||
True devotional worship brings lasting peace. ||2||
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਨੁ ਲੋਗੁ ॥
जिनि हरि रसु चाखिआ सो हरि जनु लोगु ॥
Jin har ras chaakʰi▫aa so har jan log.
One who tastes the sublime essence of the Lord is the Lord’s humble servant.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਦੇ ਸੋਗੁ ॥
तिसु सदा हरखु नाही कदे सोगु ॥
Ṫis saḋaa harakʰ naahee kaḋé sog.
He is forever happy; he is never sad.
|
ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਅਵਰਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਕਰਾਵੈ ॥
आपि मुकतु अवरा मुकतु करावै ॥
Aap mukaṫ avraa mukaṫ karaavæ.
He himself is liberated, and he liberates others as well.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥
हरि नामु जपै हरि ते सुखु पावै ॥३॥
Har naam japæ har ṫé sukʰ paavæ. ||3||
He chants the Lord’s Name, and through the Lord, he finds peace. ||3||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਭ ਮੁਈ ਬਿਲਲਾਇ ॥
बिनु सतिगुर सभ मुई बिललाइ ॥
Bin saṫgur sabʰ mu▫ee billaa▫é.
Without the True Guru, everyone dies, crying out in pain.
|
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਦਾਝਹਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
अनदिनु दाझहि साति न पाइ ॥
An▫ḋin ḋaajʰėh saaṫ na paa▫é.
Night and day, they burn, and find no peace.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝਾਏ ॥
सतिगुरु मिलै सभु त्रिसन बुझाए ॥
Saṫgur milæ sabʰ ṫarisan bujʰaa▫é.
But meeting the True Guru, all thirst is quenched.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੪॥੨॥
नानक नामि सांति सुखु पाए ॥४॥२॥
Naanak naam saaⁿṫ sukʰ paa▫é. ||4||2||
O Nanak! Through the Naam, one finds peace and tranquility. ||4||2||

ਸਦਾ ਧਨੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲੇ ॥
सदा धनु अंतरि नामु समाले ॥
Saḋaa ḋʰan anṫar naam samaalé.
Gather in and cherish forever the wealth of the Lord’s Name, deep within;
|
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ॥
जीअ जंत जिनहि प्रतिपाले ॥
Jee▫a janṫ jinėh parṫipaalé.
He cherishes and nurtures all beings and creatures.
|
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
मुकति पदारथु तिन कउ पाए ॥
Mukaṫ paḋaaraṫʰ ṫin ka▫o paa▫é.
They alone obtain the treasure of Liberation,
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
हरि कै नामि रते लिव लाए ॥१॥
Har kæ naam raṫé liv laa▫é. ||1||
who are lovingly imbued with, and focused on the Lord’s Name. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
गुर सेवा ते हरि नामु धनु पावै ॥
Gur sévaa ṫé har naam ḋʰan paavæ.
Serving the Guru, one obtains the wealth of the Lord’s Name.
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अंतरि परगासु हरि नामु धिआवै ॥ रहाउ ॥
Anṫar pargaas har naam ḋʰi▫aavæ. Rahaa▫o.
He is illuminated and enlightened within, and he meditates on the Lord’s Name. ||Pause||
|
ਇਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਗੂੜਾ ਧਨ ਪਿਰ ਹੋਇ ॥
इहु हरि रंगु गूड़ा धन पिर होइ ॥
Ih har rang gooṛaa ḋʰan pir ho▫é.
This love for the Lord is like the love of the bride for her husband.
|
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸੀਗਾਰੁ ਰਾਵੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
सांति सीगारु रावे प्रभु सोइ ॥
Saaⁿṫ seegaar raavé parabʰ so▫é.
God ravishes and enjoys the soul-bride who is adorned with peace and tranquility.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥
हउमै विचि प्रभु कोइ न पाए ॥
Ha▫umæ vich parabʰ ko▫é na paa▫é.
No one finds God through egotism.
|
ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਏ ॥੨॥
मूलहु भुला जनमु गवाए ॥२॥
Moolhu bʰulaa janam gavaa▫é. ||2||
Wandering away from the Primal Lord, the root of all, one wastes his life in vain. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਤਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
गुर ते साति सहज सुखु बाणी ॥
Gur ṫé saaṫ sahj sukʰ baṇee.
Tranquility, celestial peace, pleasure and the Word of His Bani come from the Guru.
|
ਸੇਵਾ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
सेवा साची नामि समाणी ॥
Sévaa saachee naam samaaṇee.
True is that service, which leads one to merge in the Naam.
|
ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
सबदि मिलै प्रीतमु सदा धिआए ॥
Sabaḋ milæ pareeṫam saḋaa ḋʰi▫aa▫é.
Blessed with the Word of the Shabad, he meditates forever on the Lord, the Beloved.
|
ਸਾਚ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਏ ॥੩॥
साच नामि वडिआई पाए ॥३॥
Saach naam vadi▫aa▫ee paa▫é. ||3||
Through the True Name, glorious greatness is obtained. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਜੁਗਿ ਜੁਗਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
आपे करता जुगि जुगि सोइ ॥
Aapé karṫaa jug jug so▫é.
The Creator Himself abides throughout the ages.
|
ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
नदरि करे मेलावा होइ ॥
Naḋar karé mélaavaa ho▫é.
If He casts His Glance of Grace, then we meet Him.
|
ਗੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥
गुरबाणी ते हरि मंनि वसाए ॥
Gurbaaṇee ṫé har man vasaa▫é.
Through the Word of Gurbani, the Lord comes to dwell in the mind.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੩॥
नानक साचि रते प्रभि आपि मिलाए ॥४॥३॥
Naanak saach raṫé parabʰ aap milaa▫é. ||4||3||
O Nanak! God unites with Himself those who are imbued with Truth. ||4||3||
|
ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਤੀਜਾ ॥
धनासरी महला ३ तीजा ॥
Ḋʰanaasree mėhlaa 3 ṫeejaa.
Dhanaasaree, Third Mehl:

ਜਗੁ ਮੈਲਾ ਮੈਲੋ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਇ ॥
जगु मैला मैलो होइ जाइ ॥
Jag mælaa mælo ho▫é jaa▫é.
The world is polluted, and those in the world become polluted as well.
|
ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਲੋਭਾਇ ॥
आवै जाइ दूजै लोभाइ ॥
Aavæ jaa▫é ḋoojæ lobʰaa▫é.
In attachment to duality, it comes and goes.
|
ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਸਭ ਪਰਜ ਵਿਗੋਈ ॥
दूजै भाइ सभ परज विगोई ॥
Ḋoojæ bʰaa▫é sabʰ paraj vigo▫ee.
This love of duality has ruined the entire world.
|
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਚੋਟਾ ਖਾਇ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥੧॥
मनमुखि चोटा खाइ अपुनी पति खोई ॥१॥
Manmukʰ chotaa kʰaa▫é apunee paṫ kʰo▫ee. ||1||
The self-willed Manmukh suffers punishment, and forfeits his honor. ||1||
|
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
गुर सेवा ते जनु निरमलु होइ ॥
Gur sévaa ṫé jan nirmal ho▫é.
Serving the Guru, one becomes immaculate.
|
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਪਤਿ ਊਤਮ ਹੋਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
अंतरि नामु वसै पति ऊतम होइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Anṫar naam vasæ paṫ ooṫam ho▫é. Rahaa▫o.
He enshrines the Naam, the Name of the Lord, within, and his state becomes exalted. ||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਉਬਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥
गुरमुखि उबरे हरि सरणाई ॥
Gurmukʰ ubré har sarṇaa▫ee.
The Gurmukhs are saved by taking the Lord’s Sanctuary.
|
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਈ ॥
राम नामि राते भगति द्रिड़ाई ॥
Raam naam raaṫé bʰagaṫ ḋariṛaa▫ee.
Attuned to the Lord’s Name, they commit themselves to devotional worship.
|
ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਜਨੁ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਏ ॥
भगति करे जनु वडिआई पाए ॥
Bʰagaṫ karé jan vadi▫aa▫ee paa▫é.
The Lord’s humble servant performs devotional worship, and is blessed with greatness.
|
ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੨॥
साचि रते सुख सहजि समाए ॥२॥
Saach raṫé sukʰ sahj samaa▫é. ||2||
Attuned to Truth, he is absorbed in celestial peace. ||2||
|
ਸਾਚੇ ਕਾ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਕੋ ਜਾਣੁ ॥
साचे का गाहकु विरला को जाणु ॥
Saaché kaa gaahak virlaa ko jaaṇ.
Know that one who purchases the True Name is very rare.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਆਪੁ ਪਛਾਣੁ ॥
गुर कै सबदि आपु पछाणु ॥
Gur kæ sabaḋ aap pachʰaaṇ.
Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, he comes to understand himself.
|
ਸਾਚੀ ਰਾਸਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥
साची रासि साचा वापारु ॥
Saachee raas saachaa vaapaar.
True is his capital, and true is his trade.
|
ਸੋ ਧੰਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥੩॥
सो धंनु पुरखु जिसु नामि पिआरु ॥३॥
So ḋʰan purakʰ jis naam pi▫aar. ||3||
Blessed is that person, who loves the Naam. ||3||
|
ਤਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਇਕਿ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ॥
तिनि प्रभि साचै इकि सचि लाए ॥
Ṫin parabʰ saachæ ik sach laa▫é.
God, the True Lord, has attached some to His True Name.

ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
ऊतम बाणी सबदु सुणाए ॥
Ooṫam baṇee sabaḋ suṇaa▫é.
They listen to the most sublime Word of His Bani, and the Word of His Shabad.
