ਨਾਨਕ ਆਪੇ ਵੇਖੈ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक आपे वेखै आपे सचि लाए ॥४॥७॥
Naanak aapé vékʰæ aapé sach laa▫é. ||4||7||
O Nanak! The Lord Himself sees all; He Himself links us to the Truth. ||4||7||

ਨਾਵੈ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
नावै की कीमति मिति कही न जाइ ॥
Naavæ kee keemaṫ miṫ kahee na jaa▫é.
The value and worth of the Lord’s Name cannot be described.

ਸੇ ਜਨ ਧੰਨੁ ਜਿਨ ਇਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
से जन धंनु जिन इक नामि लिव लाइ ॥
Sé jan ḋʰan jin ik naam liv laa▫é.
Blessed are those humble beings, who lovingly focus their minds on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥
गुरमति साची साचा वीचारु ॥
Gurmaṫ saachee saachaa veechaar.
True are the Guru’s Teachings, and True is contemplative meditation.

ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਦੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
आपे बखसे दे वीचारु ॥१॥
Aapé bakʰsé ḋé veechaar. ||1||
God Himself forgives, and bestows contemplative meditation. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਚਰਜੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਿ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥
हरि नामु अचरजु प्रभु आपि सुणाए ॥
Har naam achraj parabʰ aap suṇaa▫é.
The Lord’s Name is wonderful! God Himself imparts it.

ਕਲੀ ਕਾਲ ਵਿਚਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कली काल विचि गुरमुखि पाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kalee kaal vich gurmukʰ paa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
In the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Gurmukhs obtain it. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਮ ਮੂਰਖ ਮੂਰਖ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥
हम मूरख मूरख मन माहि ॥
Ham moorakʰ moorakʰ man maahi.
We are ignorant; ignorance fills our minds.
|
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਹਿ ॥
हउमै विचि सभ कार कमाहि ॥
Ha▫umæ vich sabʰ kaar kamaahi.
We do all our deeds in ego.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹੰਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
गुर परसादी हंउमै जाइ ॥
Gur parsaadee haⁿ▫umæ jaa▫é.
By Guru’s Grace, egotism is eradicated.
|
ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
आपे बखसे लए मिलाइ ॥२॥
Aapé bakʰsé la▫é milaa▫é. ||2||
Forgiving us, the Lord blends us with Himself. ||2||
|
ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾ ਧਨੁ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
बिखिआ का धनु बहुतु अभिमानु ॥
Bikʰi▫aa kaa ḋʰan bahuṫ abʰimaan.
Poisonous wealth gives rise to great arrogance.
|
ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ਡੂਬੈ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
अहंकारि डूबै न पावै मानु ॥
Ahaⁿkaar doobæ na paavæ maan.
Drowning in egotism, no one is honored.
|
ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
आपु छोडि सदा सुखु होई ॥
Aap chʰod saḋaa sukʰ ho▫ee.
Forsaking self-conceit, one finds lasting peace.
|
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ॥੩॥
गुरमति सालाही सचु सोई ॥३॥
Gurmaṫ saalaahee sach so▫ee. ||3||
Under Guru’s Instruction, he praises the True Lord. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੋਇ ॥
आपे साजे करता सोइ ॥
Aapé saajé karṫaa so▫é.
The Creator Lord Himself fashions all.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
तिसु बिनु दूजा अवरु न कोइ ॥
Ṫis bin ḋoojaa avar na ko▫é.
Without Him, there is no other at all.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਚਿ ਲਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
जिसु सचि लाए सोई लागै ॥
Jis sach laa▫é so▫ee laagæ.
He alone is attached to Truth, whom the Lord Himself so attaches.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ॥੪॥੮॥
नानक नामि सदा सुखु आगै ॥४॥८॥
Naanak naam saḋaa sukʰ aagæ. ||4||8||
O Nanak! Through the Naam, lasting peace is attained in the hereafter. ||4||8||

ਹਮ ਭੀਖਕ ਭੇਖਾਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਨਿਜ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾ ॥
हम भीखक भेखारी तेरे तू निज पति है दाता ॥
Ham bʰeekʰak bʰékʰaaree ṫéré ṫoo nij paṫ hæ ḋaaṫaa.
I am just a poor beggar of Yours; You are Your Own Lord Master, You are the Great Giver.

ਹੋਹੁ ਦੈਆਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਮੰਗਤ ਜਨ ਕੰਉ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਉ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
होहु दैआल नामु देहु मंगत जन कंउ सदा रहउ रंगि राता ॥१॥
Hohu ḋæ▫aal naam ḋéh mangaṫ jan kaⁿ▫u saḋaa raha▫o rang raaṫaa. ||1||
Be Merciful, and bless me, a humble beggar, with Your Name, so that I may forever remain imbued with Your Love. ||1||

ਹੰਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਚੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿਟਹੁ ॥
हंउ बलिहारै जाउ साचे तेरे नाम विटहु ॥
Haⁿ▫u balihaaræ jaa▫o saaché ṫéré naam vitahu.
I am a sacrifice to Your Name, O True Lord.

ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
करण कारण सभना का एको अवरु न दूजा कोई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Karaṇ kaaraṇ sabʰnaa kaa éko avar na ḋoojaa ko▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The One Lord is the Cause of all causes; there is no other at all. ||1||Pause||

ਬਹੁਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਪਏ ਕਿਰਪਨ ਕਉ ਅਬ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
बहुते फेर पए किरपन कउ अब किछु किरपा कीजै ॥
Bahuṫé fér pa▫é kirpan ka▫o ab kichʰ kirpaa keejæ.
I was wretched; I wandered through so many cycles of reincarnation. Now, Lord, please bless me with Your Grace.

ਹੋਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਐਸੀ ਬਖਸ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥੨॥
होहु दइआल दरसनु देहु अपुना ऐसी बखस करीजै ॥२॥
Hohu ḋa▫i▫aal ḋarsan ḋéh apunaa æsee bakʰas kareejæ. ||2||
Be merciful, and grant me the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan; please grant me such a gift. ||2||

ਭਨਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮ ਪਟ ਖੂਲੑੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
भनति नानक भरम पट खूल्हे गुर परसादी जानिआ ॥
Bʰanaṫ Naanak bʰaram pat kʰoolĥé gur parsaadee jaani▫aa.
Prays Nanak, the shutters of doubt have been opened wide; by Guru’s Grace, I have come to know the Lord.

ਸਾਚੀ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਹੈ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੩॥੧॥੯॥
साची लिव लागी है भीतरि सतिगुर सिउ मनु मानिआ ॥३॥१॥९॥
Saachee liv laagee hæ bʰeeṫar saṫgur si▫o man maani▫aa. ||3||1||9||
I am filled to overflowing with true love; my mind is pleased and appeased by the True Guru. ||3||1||9||

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੰਤ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਭਿ ਪਾਪ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ॥
जो हरि सेवहि संत भगत तिन के सभि पाप निवारी ॥
Jo har sévėh sanṫ bʰagaṫ ṫin ké sabʰ paap nivaaree.
Those Saints and devotees who serve the Lord have all their sins washed away.

ਹਮ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਰਖੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਤੁਮ ਜੁ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੧॥
हम ऊपरि किरपा करि सुआमी रखु संगति तुम जु पिआरी ॥१॥
Ham oopar kirpaa kar su▫aamee rakʰ sangaṫ ṫum jo pi▫aaree. ||1||
Have Mercy on me, O Lord and Master, and keep me in the Sangat, the Congregation that You love. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਕਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥
हरि गुण कहि न सकउ बनवारी ॥
Har guṇ kahi na saka▫o banvaaree.
I cannot even speak the Praises of the Lord, the Gardener of the world.

ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਥਰ ਨੀਰਿ ਡੁਬਤ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਖਣ ਹਮ ਤਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हम पापी पाथर नीरि डुबत करि किरपा पाखण हम तारी ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ham paapee paaṫʰar neer dubaṫ kar kirpaa paakʰaṇ ham ṫaaree. Rahaa▫o.
We are sinners, sinking like stones in water; grant Your Grace, and carry us stones across. ||Pause||

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਲਾਗੇ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਲਗਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਸਵਾਰੀ ॥
जनम जनम के लागे बिखु मोरचा लगि संगति साध सवारी ॥
Janam janam ké laagé bikʰ morchaa lag sangaṫ saaḋʰ savaaree.
The rust of poison and corruption from countless incarnations sticks to us; joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it is cleaned away.

ਜਿਉ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਤਾਇਓ ਮਲੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਟਿਤ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
जिउ कंचनु बैसंतरि ताइओ मलु काटी कटित उतारी ॥२॥
Ji▫o kanchan bæsanṫar ṫaa▫i▫o mal kaatee katiṫ uṫaaree. ||2||
It is just like gold, which is heated in the fire, to remove the impurities from it. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨੁ ਜਪਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
हरि हरि जपनु जपउ दिनु राती जपि हरि हरि हरि उरि धारी ॥
Har har japan japa▫o ḋin raaṫee jap har har har ur ḋʰaaree.
I chant the chant of the Name of the Lord, day and night; I chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, and enshrine it within my heart.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਉਖਧੁ ਜਗਿ ਪੂਰਾ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
हरि हरि हरि अउखधु जगि पूरा जपि हरि हरि हउमै मारी ॥३॥
Har har har a▫ukʰaḋʰ jag pooraa jap har har ha▫umæ maaree. ||3||
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, is the most perfect medicine in this world; chanting the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have conquered my ego. ||3||
