ਦੇਵ ਸੰਸੈ ਗਾਂਠਿ ਨ ਛੂਟੈ ॥
देव संसै गांठि न छूटै ॥
Ḋév sansæ gaaⁿtʰ na chʰootæ.
O Divine Lord, the knot of skepticism cannot be untied.

ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਦ ਮਤਸਰ ਇਨ ਪੰਚਹੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਲੂਟੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
काम क्रोध माइआ मद मतसर इन पंचहु मिलि लूटे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kaam kroḋʰ maa▫i▫aa maḋ maṫsar in panchahu mil looté. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Sexual desire, anger, Maya, intoxication and jealousy - these five have combined to plunder the world. ||1||Pause||

ਹਮ ਬਡ ਕਬਿ ਕੁਲੀਨ ਹਮ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਹਮ ਜੋਗੀ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ॥
हम बड कबि कुलीन हम पंडित हम जोगी संनिआसी ॥
Ham bad kab kuleen ham pandiṫ ham jogee sani▫aasee.
I am a great poet, of noble heritage; I am a Pandit, a religious scholar, a Yogi and a Sannyasi;

ਗਿਆਨੀ ਗੁਨੀ ਸੂਰ ਹਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਇਹ ਬੁਧਿ ਕਬਹਿ ਨ ਨਾਸੀ ॥੨॥
गिआनी गुनी सूर हम दाते इह बुधि कबहि न नासी ॥२॥
Gi▫aanee gunee soor ham ḋaaṫé ih buḋʰ kabėh na naasee. ||2||
I am a spiritual teacher, a warrior and a giver - such thinking never ends. ||2||

ਕਹੁ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਸਭੈ ਨਹੀ ਸਮਝਸਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਉਰੇ ॥
कहु रविदास सभै नही समझसि भूलि परे जैसे बउरे ॥
Kaho Raviḋaas sabʰæ nahee samjʰas bʰool paré jæsé ba▫uré.

मोहि अधारु नामु नाराइन जीवन प्रान धन मोरे ॥३॥१॥
Mohi aḋʰaar naam naaraa▫in jeevan paraan ḋʰan moré. ||3||1||
The Lord’s Name is my only Support; He is my life, my breath of life, my wealth. ||3||1||

बेणी संगमु तह पिरागु मनु मजनु करे तिथाई ॥१॥
Béṇee sangam ṫah piraag man majan karé ṫiṫʰaa▫ee. ||1||
This is the true place of confluence of the three sacred rivers: this is where my mind takes its cleansing bath. ||1||

ਸੰਤਹੁ ਤਹਾ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਰਾਮੁ ਹੈ ॥
संतहु तहा निरंजन रामु है ॥
Sanṫahu ṫahaa niranjan raam hæ.
O Saints, the Immaculate Lord dwells there;

ਗੁਰ ਗਮਿ ਚੀਨੈ ਬਿਰਲਾ ਕੋਇ ॥
गुर गमि चीनै बिरला कोइ ॥
Gur gam cheenæ birlaa ko▫é.
how rare are those who go to the Guru, and understand this.

ਤਹਾਂ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਰਮਈਆ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
तहां निरंजनु रमईआ होइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫahaaⁿ niranjan rama▫ee▫aa ho▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The all-pervading immaculate Lord is there. ||1||Pause||

ਦੇਵ ਸਥਾਨੈ ਕਿਆ ਨੀਸਾਣੀ ॥
देव सथानै किआ नीसाणी ॥
Ḋév saṫʰaanæ ki▫aa neesaaṇee.
What is the insignia of the Divine Lord’s dwelling?

ਤਹ ਬਾਜੇ ਸਬਦ ਅਨਾਹਦ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
तह बाजे सबद अनाहद बाणी ॥
Ṫah baajé sabaḋ anaahaḋ baṇee.
The unstruck sound current of the Shabad vibrates there.

ਤਹ ਚੰਦੁ ਨ ਸੂਰਜੁ ਪਉਣੁ ਨ ਪਾਣੀ ॥
तह चंदु न सूरजु पउणु न पाणी ॥
Ṫah chanḋ na sooraj pa▫uṇ na paaṇee.
There is no moon or sun, no air or water there.

ਸਾਖੀ ਜਾਗੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਣੀ ॥੨॥
साखी जागी गुरमुखि जाणी ॥२॥
Saakʰee jaagee gurmukʰ jaaṇee. ||2||
The Gurmukh becomes aware, and knows the Teachings. ||2||
|
ਉਪਜੈ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਛੀਜੈ ॥
उपजै गिआनु दुरमति छीजै ॥
Upjæ gi▫aan ḋurmaṫ chʰeejæ.
Spiritual wisdom wells up, and evil-mindedness departs;

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸਿ ਗਗਨੰਤਰਿ ਭੀਜੈ ॥
अमृत रसि गगनंतरि भीजै ॥
Amriṫ ras gagnanṫar bʰeejæ.
the nucleus of the mind sky is drenched with Ambrosial Nectar.

ਏਸੁ ਕਲਾ ਜੋ ਜਾਣੈ ਭੇਉ ॥
एसु कला जो जाणै भेउ ॥
És kalaa jo jaaṇæ bʰé▫o.
One who knows the secret of this device,

ਭੇਟੈ ਤਾਸੁ ਪਰਮ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ॥੩॥
भेटै तासु परम गुरदेउ ॥३॥
Bʰétæ ṫaas param gurḋé▫o. ||3||
meets the Supreme Divine Guru. ||3||

ਦਸਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਪਰਮ ਪੁਰਖ ਕੀ ਘਾਟੀ ॥
दसम दुआरा अगम अपारा परम पुरख की घाटी ॥
Ḋasam ḋu▫aaraa agam apaaraa param purakʰ kee gʰaatee.
The Tenth Gate is the home of the inaccessible, infinite Supreme Lord.

ਊਪਰਿ ਹਾਟੁ ਹਾਟ ਪਰਿ ਆਲਾ ਆਲੇ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਥਾਤੀ ॥੪॥
ऊपरि हाटु हाट परि आला आले भीतरि थाती ॥४॥
Oopar haat haat par aalaa aalé bʰeeṫar ṫʰaaṫee. ||4||
Above the store is a niche, and within this niche is the commodity. ||4||
|
ਜਾਗਤੁ ਰਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਬਹੁ ਨ ਸੋਵੈ ॥
जागतु रहै सु कबहु न सोवै ॥
Jaagaṫ rahæ so kabahu na sovæ.
One who remains awake, never sleeps.
|
ਤੀਨਿ ਤਿਲੋਕ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਪਲੋਵੈ ॥
तीनि तिलोक समाधि पलोवै ॥
Ṫeen ṫilok samaaḋʰ palovæ.
The three qualities and the three worlds vanish, in the state of Samadhi.

ਬੀਜ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਲੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਹੈ ॥
बीज मंत्रु लै हिरदै रहै ॥
Beej manṫar læ hirḋæ rahæ.
He takes the Beej Mantra, the Seed Mantra, and keeps it in his heart.

ਮਨੂਆ ਉਲਟਿ ਸੁੰਨ ਮਹਿ ਗਹੈ ॥੫॥
मनूआ उलटि सुंन महि गहै ॥५॥
Manoo▫aa ulat sunn mėh gahæ. ||5||
Turning his mind away from the world, he focuses on the cosmic void of the absolute Lord. ||5||
|
ਜਾਗਤੁ ਰਹੈ ਨ ਅਲੀਆ ਭਾਖੈ ॥
जागतु रहै न अलीआ भाखै ॥
Jaagaṫ rahæ na alee▫aa bʰaakʰæ.
He remains awake, and he does not lie.
|
ਪਾਚਉ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਬਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੈ ॥
पाचउ इंद्री बसि करि राखै ॥
Paacha▫o inḋree bas kar raakʰæ.
He keeps the five sensory organs under his control.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਖੀ ਰਾਖੈ ਚੀਤਿ ॥
गुर की साखी राखै चीति ॥
Gur kee saakʰee raakʰæ cheeṫ.
He cherishes in his consciousness the Guru’s Teachings.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਅਰਪੈ ਕ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੬॥
मनु तनु अरपै क्रिसन परीति ॥६॥
Man ṫan arpæ krisan pareeṫ. ||6||
He dedicates his mind and body to the Lord’s Love. ||6||
|
ਕਰ ਪਲਵ ਸਾਖਾ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
कर पलव साखा बीचारे ॥
Kar palav saakʰaa beechaaré.
He considers his hands to be the leaves and branches of the tree.
|
ਅਪਨਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਜੂਐ ਹਾਰੇ ॥
अपना जनमु न जूऐ हारे ॥
Apnaa janam na joo▫æ haaré.
He does not lose his life in the gamble.
|
ਅਸੁਰ ਨਦੀ ਕਾ ਬੰਧੈ ਮੂਲੁ ॥
असुर नदी का बंधै मूलु ॥
Asur naḋee kaa banḋʰæ mool.
He plugs up the source of the river of evil tendencies.
|
ਪਛਿਮ ਫੇਰਿ ਚੜਾਵੈ ਸੂਰੁ ॥
पछिम फेरि चड़ावै सूरु ॥
Pachʰim fér chaṛaavæ soor.
Turning away from the west, he makes the sun rise in the east.
|
ਅਜਰੁ ਜਰੈ ਸੁ ਨਿਝਰੁ ਝਰੈ ॥
अजरु जरै सु निझरु झरै ॥
Ajar jaræ so nijʰar jʰaræ.
He bears the unbearable, and the drops trickle down within;
|
ਜਗੰਨਾਥ ਸਿਉ ਗੋਸਟਿ ਕਰੈ ॥੭॥
जगंनाथ सिउ गोसटि करै ॥७॥
Jagannaaṫʰ si▫o gosat karæ. ||7||
then, he speaks with the Lord of the world. ||7||
|
ਚਉਮੁਖ ਦੀਵਾ ਜੋਤਿ ਦੁਆਰ ॥
चउमुख दीवा जोति दुआर ॥
Cha▫umukʰ ḋeevaa joṫ ḋu▫aar.
The four-sided lamp illuminates the Tenth Gate.
|
ਪਲੂ ਅਨਤ ਮੂਲੁ ਬਿਚਕਾਰਿ ॥
पलू अनत मूलु बिचकारि ॥
Paloo anaṫ mool bichkaar.
The Primal Lord is at the center of the countless leaves.
|
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਲੇ ਆਪੇ ਰਹੈ ॥
सरब कला ले आपे रहै ॥
Sarab kalaa lé aapé rahæ.
He Himself abides there with all His powers.
|
ਮਨੁ ਮਾਣਕੁ ਰਤਨਾ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਹੈ ॥੮॥
मनु माणकु रतना महि गुहै ॥८॥
Man maaṇak raṫnaa mėh guhæ. ||8||
He weaves the jewels into the pearl of the mind. ||8||
|
ਮਸਤਕਿ ਪਦਮੁ ਦੁਆਲੈ ਮਣੀ ॥
मसतकि पदमु दुआलै मणी ॥
Masṫak paḋam ḋu▫aalæ maṇee.
The lotus is at the forehead, and the jewels surround it.
|
ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਧਣੀ ॥
माहि निरंजनु त्रिभवण धणी ॥
Maahi niranjan ṫaribʰavaṇ ḋʰaṇee.
Within it is the Immaculate Lord, the Master of the three worlds.

ਪੰਚ ਸਬਦ ਨਿਰਮਾਇਲ ਬਾਜੇ ॥
पंच सबद निरमाइल बाजे ॥
Panch sabaḋ nirmaa▫il baajé.
The Panch Shabad, the five primal sounds, resound and vibrate their in their purity.

ਢੁਲਕੇ ਚਵਰ ਸੰਖ ਘਨ ਗਾਜੇ ॥
ढुलके चवर संख घन गाजे ॥
Dʰulké chavar sankʰ gʰan gaajé.
The chauris - the fly brushes wave, and the conch shells blare like thunder.

ਦਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਦੈਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥
दलि मलि दैतहु गुरमुखि गिआनु ॥
Ḋal mal ḋaaṫahu gurmukʰ gi▫aan.
The Gurmukh tramples the demons underfoot with his spiritual wisdom.

ਬੇਣੀ ਜਾਚੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੯॥੧॥
बेणी जाचै तेरा नामु ॥९॥१॥
Béṇee jaachæ ṫéraa naam. ||9||1||
