sehjay dubiDhaa tan kee naasee.
In peace, their bodies' duality is eliminated.

jw kY shij min BieAw Anµdu ] (237-1)
jaa kai sahj man bha-i-aa anand.
Bliss comes naturally to their minds.

qw kau ByitAw prmwnµdu ]5] (237-1)
taa ka-o bhayti-aa parmaanand. ||5||
They meet the Lord, the Embodiment of Supreme Bliss. ||5||

shjy AMimRqu pIE nwmu ] (237-2)
sehjay amrit pee-o naam.
In peaceful poise, they drink in the Ambrosial Nectar of the Naam, the Name of the Lord.

shjy kIno jIA ko dwnu ] (237-2)
sehjay keeno jee-a ko daan.
In peace and poise, they give to the poor.

shj kQw mih Awqmu risAw ] (237-2)
sahj kathaa meh aatam rasi-aa.
Their souls naturally delight in the Lord's Sermon.

qw kY sMig AibnwsI visAw ]6] (237-3)
taa kai sang abhinaasee vasi-aa. ||6||
The Imperishable Lord abides with them. ||6||

shjy Awsxu AsiQru BwieAw ] (237-3)
sehjay aasan asthir bhaa-i-aa.
In peace and poise, they assume the unchanging position.

shjy Anhq sbdu vjwieAw ] (237-3)
sehjay anhat sabad vajaa-i-aa.
In peace and poise, the unstruck vibration of the Shabad resounds.

shjy rux Juxkwru suhwieAw ] (237-4)
sehjay run jhunkaar suhaa-i-aa.
In peace and poise, the celestial bells resound.

qw kY Gir pwrbRhmu smwieAw ]7] (237-4)
taa kai ghar paarbarahm samaa-i-aa. ||7||
Within their homes, the Supreme Lord God is pervading. ||7||

shjy jw kau pirE krmw ] (237-4)
sehjay jaa ka-o pari-o karmaa.
With intuitive ease, they meet the Lord, according to their karma.

sehjay gur bhayti-o sach Dharmaa.
With intuitive ease, they meet with the Guru, in the true Dharma.

jaa kai sahj bha-i-aa so jaanai.
Those who know, attain the poise of intuitive peace.

naanak daas taa kai kurbaanai. ||8||3||
Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to them. ||8||3||

First, they come forth from the womb.

putar kaltar kutamb sang juri-aa.
They become attached to their children, spouses and families.

Bojnu Aink pRkwr bhu kpry ] srpr gvnu krihgy bpury ]1] (237-6)
bhojan anik parkaar baho kapray. sarpar gavan karhigay bapuray. ||1||
The foods of various sorts and appearances will surely pass away, O wretched mortal! ||1||

kvnu AsQwnu jo kbhu n trY ] (237-7)
kavan asthaan jo kabahu na tarai.
What is that place which never perishes?

kvnu sbdu ijqu durmiq hrY ]1] rhwau ] (237-7)
kavan sabad jit durmat harai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
What is that Word by which the dirt of the mind is removed? ||1||Pause||

ieMdR purI mih srpr mrxw ] (237-8)
indar puree meh sarpar marnaa.
In the Realm of Indra, death is sure and certain.

bRhm purI inhclu nhI rhxw ] (237-8)
barahm puree nihchal nahee rahnaa.
The Realm of Brahma shall not remain permanent.

isv purI kw hoiegw kwlw ] (237-9)
siv puree kaa ho-igaa kaalaa.
The Realm of Shiva shall also perish.

qRY gux mwieAw ibnis ibqwlw ]2] (237-9)
tarai gun maa-i-aa binas bitaalaa. ||2||
The three dispositions, Maya and the demons shall vanish. ||2||

gir tar Dharan gagan ar taaray.
The mountains, the trees, the earth, the sky and the stars;

riv sis pvxu pwvku nIrwry ] (237-10)
rav sas pavan paavak neeraaray.
the sun, the moon, the wind, water and fire;

idnsu rYix brq Aru Bydw ] (237-10)
dinas rain barat ar bhaydaa.
day and night, fasting days and their determination;

swsq isMimRiq ibnsihgy bydw ]3] (237-10)
saasat simrit binashigay baydaa. ||3||
the Shaastras, the Simritees and the Vedas shall pass away. ||3||

qIrQ dyv dyhurw poQI ] (237-11)
tirath dayv dayhuraa pothee.
The sacred shrines of pilgrimage, gods, temples and holy books;

mwlw iqlku soc pwk hoqI ] (237-11)
maalaa tilak soch paak hotee.
rosaries, ceremonial tilak marks on the forehead, meditative people, the pure, and the performers of burnt offerings;

Dhotee dand-ut parsaadan bhogaa.
wearing loin cloths, bowing in reverence and the enjoyment of sacred foods

gvnu krYgo sglo logw ]4] (237-12)
gavan karaigo saglo logaa. ||4||
- all these, and all people, shall pass away. ||4||

jaat varan turak ar hindoo.
Social classes, races, Muslims and Hindus;

psu pMKI Aink join ijMdU ] (237-12)
pas pankhee anik jon jindoo.
beasts, birds and the many varieties of beings and creatures;

sgl pwswru dIsY pwswrw ] (237-12)
sagal paasaar deesai paasaaraa.
the entire world and the visible universe

ibnis jwiego sgl Awkwrw ]5] (237-13)
binas jaa-igo sagal aakaaraa. ||5||
- all forms of existence shall pass away. ||5||

shj isPiq Bgiq qqu igAwnw ] (237-13)
sahj sifat bhagat tat gi-aanaa.
Through the Praises of the Lord, devotional worship, spiritual wisdom and the essence of reality,

sdw Anµdu inhclu scu Qwnw ] (237-14)
sadaa anand nihchal sach thaanaa.
eternal bliss and the imperishable true place are obtained.

tahaa sangat saaDh gun rasai.
There, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the Lord's Glorious Praises are sung with love.

AnBau ngru qhw sd vsY ]6] (237-14)
anbha-o nagar tahaa sad vasai. ||6||
There, in the city of fearlessness, He dwells forever. ||6||

qh Bau Brmw sogu n icMqw ] (237-15)
tah bha-o bharmaa sog na chintaa.
There is no fear, doubt, suffering or anxiety there;

Awvxu jwvxu imrqu n hoqw ] (237-15)
aavan jaavan mirat na hotaa.
there is no coming or going, and no death there.

qh sdw Anµd Anhq AwKwry ] (237-15)
tah sadaa anand anhat aakhaaray.
There is eternal bliss, and the unstruck celestial music there.

Bgq vsih kIrqn AwDwry ]7] (237-16)
bhagat vaseh keertan aaDhaaray. ||7||
The devotees dwell there, with the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises as their support. ||7||

pwrbRhm kw AMqu n pwru ] (237-16)
paarbarahm kaa ant na paar.
There is no end or limitation to the Supreme Lord God.

kauxu krY qw kw bIcwru ] (237-16)
ka-un karai taa kaa beechaar.
Who can embrace His contemplation?

khu nwnk ijsu ikrpw krY ] (237-16)
kaho naanak jis kirpaa karai.
Says Nanak, when the Lord showers His Mercy,

inhcl Qwnu swDsMig qrY ]8]4] (237-17)
nihchal thaan saaDhsang tarai. ||8||4||
the imperishable home is obtained; in the Saadh Sangat, you shall be saved. ||8||4||

jo is maaray so-ee sooraa.
One who kills this is a spiritual hero.

jo iesu mwry soeI pUrw ] (237-18)
jo is maaray so-ee pooraa.
One who kills this is perfect.

jo iesu mwry iqsih vifAweI ] (237-18)
jo is maaray tiseh vadi-aa-ee.
One who kills this obtains glorious greatness.

jo iesu mwry iqs kw duKu jweI ]1] (237-18)
jo is maaray tis kaa dukh jaa-ee. ||1||
One who kills this is freed of suffering. ||1||

AYsw koie ij duibDw mwir gvwvY ] (237-19)
aisaa ko-ay je dubiDhaa maar gavaavai.
How rare is such a person, who kills and casts off duality.

iesih mwir rwj jogu kmwvY ]1] rhwau ] (237-19)
iseh maar raaj jog kamaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Killing it, he attains Raja Yoga, the Yoga of meditation and success. ||1||Pause||
