tooN satgur ha-o na-utan chaylaa.
You are the True Guru, and I am Your new disciple.

kih kbIr imlu AMq kI bylw ]4]2] (324-1)
kahi kabeer mil ant kee baylaa. ||4||2||
Says Kabeer, O Lord, please meet me - this is my very last chance! ||4||2||

ga-orhee kabeer jee.
Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

jb hm eyko eyku kir jwinAw ] (324-1)
jab ham ayko ayk kar jaani-aa.
When I realize that there is One, and only One Lord,

qb logh kwhy duKu mwinAw ]1] (324-2)
tab logah kaahay dukh maani-aa. ||1||
why then should the people be upset? ||1||

hm Apqh ApunI piq KoeI ] (324-2)
ham aptah apunee pat kho-ee.
I am dishonored; I have lost my honor.

hmrY Koij prhu miq koeI ]1] rhwau ] (324-2)
hamrai khoj parahu mat ko-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
No one should follow in my footsteps. ||1||Pause||

hm mMdy mMdy mn mwhI ] (324-3)
ham manday manday man maahee.
I am bad, and bad in my mind as well.

swJ pwiq kwhU isau nwhI ]2] (324-3)
saajh paat kaahoo si-o naahee. ||2||
I have no partnership with anyone. ||2||

piq Apiq qw kI nhI lwj ] (324-3)
pat apat taa kee nahee laaj.
I have no shame about honor or dishonor.

qb jwnhugy jb auGrYgo pwj ]3] (324-4)
tab jaanhugay jab ughraigo paaj. ||3||
But you shall know, when your own false covering is laid bare. ||3||

khu kbIr piq hir prvwnu ] (324-4)
kaho kabeer pat har parvaan.
Says Kabeer, honor is that which is accepted by the Lord.

srb iqAwig Bju kyvl rwmu ]4]3] (324-4)
sarab ti-aag bhaj kayval raam. ||4||3||
Give up everything - meditate, vibrate upon the Lord alone. ||4||3||

ga-orhee kabeer jee.
Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ngn iPrq jO pweIAY jogu ] (324-5)
nagan firat jou paa-ee-ai jog.
If Yoga could be obtained by wandering around naked,

bn kw imrgu mukiq sBu hogu ]1] (324-5)
ban kaa mirag mukat sabh hog. ||1||
then all the deer of the forest would be liberated. ||1||

ikAw nwgy ikAw bwDy cwm ] (324-6)
ki-aa naagay ki-aa baaDhay chaam.
What does it matter whether someone goes naked, or wears a deer skin,

jb nhI cInis Awqm rwm ]1] rhwau ] (324-6)
jab nahee cheenas aatam raam. ||1|| rahaa-o.
if he does not remember the Lord within his soul? ||1||Pause||

mUf muMfwey jO isiD pweI ] (324-6)
mood mundaa-ay jou siDh paa-ee.
If the spiritual perfection of the Siddhas could be obtained by shaving the head,

mukqI Byf n geIAw kweI ]2] (324-7)
muktee bhayd na ga-ee-aa kaa-ee. ||2||
then why haven't sheep found liberation? ||2||

ibMdu rwiK jO qrIAY BweI ] (324-7)
bind raakh jou taree-ai bhaa-ee.
If someone could save himself by celibacy, O Siblings of Destiny,

KusrY ikau n prm giq pweI ]3] (324-7)
khusrai ki-o na param gat paa-ee. ||3||
why then haven't eunuchs obtained the state of supreme dignity? ||3||

khu kbIr sunhu nr BweI ] (324-8)
kaho kabeer sunhu nar bhaa-ee.
Says Kabeer, listen, O men, O Siblings of Destiny:

rwm nwm ibnu ikin giq pweI ]4]4] (324-8)
raam naam bin kin gat paa-ee. ||4||4||
without the Lord's Name, who has ever found salvation? ||4||4||

ga-orhee kabeer jee.
Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

sMiDAw pRwq ies˜wnu krwhI ] (324-9)
sanDhi-aa paraat isnaan karaahee.
Those who take their ritual baths in the evening and the morning

ijau Bey dwdur pwnI mwhI ]1] (324-9)
ji-o bha-ay daadur paanee maahee. ||1||
are like the frogs in the water. ||1||

jau pY rwm rwm riq nwhI ] (324-9)
ja-o pai raam raam rat naahee.
When people do not love the Lord's Name,

qy siB Drm rwie kY jwhI ]1] rhwau ] (324-9)
tay sabh Dharam raa-ay kai jaahee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
they must all go to the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1||Pause||

kwieAw riq bhu rUp rcwhI ] (324-10)
kaa-i-aa rat baho roop rachaahee.
Those who love their bodies and try different looks,

iqn kau dieAw supnY BI nwhI ]2] (324-10)
tin ka-o da-i-aa supnai bhee naahee. ||2||
do not feel compassion, even in dreams. ||2||

cwir crn khih bhu Awgr ] (324-11)
chaar charan kaheh baho aagar.
The wise men call them four-footed creatures;

swDU suKu pwvih kil swgr ]3] (324-11)
saaDhoo sukh paavahi kal saagar. ||3||
the Holy find peace in this ocean of pain. ||3||

khu kbIr bhu kwie krIjY ] (324-11)
kaho kabeer baho kaa-ay kareejai.
Says Kabeer, why do you perform so many rituals?

srbsu Coif mhw rsu pIjY ]4]5] (324-12)
sarbas chhod mahaa ras peejai. ||4||5||
Renounce everything, and drink in the supreme essence of the Lord. ||4||5||

kabeer jee ga-orhee.
Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

ikAw jpu ikAw qpu ikAw bRq pUjw ] (324-12)
ki-aa jap ki-aa tap ki-aa barat poojaa.
What use is chanting, and what use is penance, fasting or devotional worship,

jw kY irdY Bwau hY dUjw ]1] (324-13)
jaa kai ridai bhaa-o hai doojaa. ||1||
to one whose heart is filled with the love of duality? ||1||

ry jn mnu mwDau isau lweIAY ] (324-13)
ray jan man maaDha-o si-o laa-ee-ai.
O humble people, link your mind to the Lord.

cqurweI n cqurBuju pweIAY ] rhwau ] (324-13)
chaturaa-ee na chaturbhuj paa-ee-ai. rahaa-o.
Through cleverness, the four-armed Lord is not obtained. ||Pause||

prhru loBu Aru lokwcwru ] (324-14)
parhar lobh ar lokaachaar.
Set aside your greed and worldly ways.

prhru kwmu k®oDu AhMkwru ]2] (324-14)
parhar kaam kroDh ahaNkaar. ||2||
Set aside sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||2||

krm krq bDy AhMmyv ] (324-14)
karam karat baDhay ahaNmayv.
Ritual practices bind people in egotism;

imil pwQr kI krhI syv ]3] (324-15)
mil paathar kee karhee sayv. ||3||
meeting together, they worship stones. ||3||

khu kbIr Bgiq kir pwieAw ] (324-15)
kaho kabeer bhagat kar paa-i-aa.
Says Kabeer, He is obtained only by devotional worship.

Boly Bwie imly rGurwieAw ]4]6] (324-15)
bholay bhaa-ay milay raghuraa-i-aa. ||4||6||
Through innocent love, the Lord is met. ||4||6||

gauVI kbIr jI ] (324-16)
ga-orhee kabeer jee.
Gauree, Kabeer Jee:

grB vws mih kulu nhI jwqI ] (324-16)
garabh vaas meh kul nahee jaatee.
In the dwelling of the womb, there is no ancestry or social status.

bRhm ibMdu qy sB auqpwqI ]1] (324-16)
barahm bind tay sabh utpaatee. ||1||
All have originated from the Seed of God. ||1||

khu ry pMifq bwmn kb ky hoey ] (324-17)
kaho ray pandit baaman kab kay ho-ay.
Tell me, O Pandit, O religious scholar: since when have you been a Brahmin?

bwmn kih kih jnmu mq Koey ]1] rhwau ] (324-17)
baaman kahi kahi janam mat kho-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Don't waste your life by continually claiming to be a Brahmin. ||1||Pause||

jO qUM bRwhmxu bRhmxI jwieAw ] (324-18)
jou tooN baraahman barahmanee jaa-i-aa.
If you are indeed a Brahmin, born of a Brahmin mother,

qau Awn bwt kwhy nhI AwieAw ]2] (324-18)
ta-o aan baat kaahay nahee aa-i-aa. ||2||
then why didn't you come by some other way? ||2||

qum kq bRwhmx hm kq sUd ] (324-18)
tum kat baraahman ham kat sood.
How is it that you are a Brahmin, and I am of a low social status?

hm kq lohU qum kq dUD ]3] (324-19)
ham kat lohoo tum kat dooDh. ||3||
How is it that I am formed of blood, and you are made of milk? ||3||

khu kbIr jo bRhmu bIcwrY ] (324-19)
kaho kabeer jo barahm beechaarai.
Says Kabeer, one who contemplates God,

so bRwhmxu khIAqu hY hmwrY ]4]7] (324-19)
so baraahman kahee-at hai hamaarai. ||4||7||
is said to be a Brahmin among us. ||4||7||
