ayhaa bhagat jan jeevat marai.
True Devotion is to remain dead while yet alive.

gur prswdI Bvjlu qrY ] (365-1)
gur parsaadee bhavjal tarai.
By Guru's Grace, one crosses over the terrible world-ocean.

gur kY bcin Bgiq Qwie pwie ] (365-1)
gur kai bachan bhagat thaa-ay paa-ay.
Through the Guru's Teachings, one's devotion is accepted,

hir jIau Awip vsY min Awie ]4] (365-2)
har jee-o aap vasai man aa-ay. ||4||
and then, the Dear Lord Himself comes to dwell in the mind. ||4||

hir ik®pw kry siqgurU imlwey ] (365-2)
har kirpaa karay satguroo milaa-ay.
When the Lord bestows His Mercy, He leads us to meet the True Guru.

inhcl Bgiq hir isau icqu lwey ] (365-2)
nihchal bhagat har si-o chit laa-ay.
Then, one's devotion becomes steady, and the consciousness is centered upon the Lord.

Bgiq rqy iqn@ scI soie ] (365-3)
bhagat ratay tinH sachee so-ay.
Those who are imbued with Devotion have truthful reputations.

nwnk nwim rqy suKu hoie ]5]12]51] (365-3)
naanak naam ratay sukh ho-ay. ||5||12||51||
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, peace is obtained. ||5||12||51||

har kai bhaanai satgur milai sach sojhee ho-ee.
By the Pleasure of the Lord's Will, one meets the True Guru, and true understanding is obtained.

gur prswdI min vsY hir bUJY soeI ]1] (365-5)
gur parsaadee man vasai har boojhai so-ee. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, the Lord abides in the mind, and one comes to understand the Lord. ||1||

mY shu dwqw eyku hY Avru nwhI koeI ] (365-5)
mai saho daataa ayk hai avar naahee ko-ee.
My Husband Lord, the Great Giver, is One. There is no other at all.

gur ikrpw qy min vsY qw sdw suKu hoeI ]1] rhwau ] (365-6)
gur kirpaa tay man vasai taa sadaa sukh ho-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
By Guru's merciful favor, He abides in the mind, and then, a lasting peace ensues. ||1||Pause||

iesu jug mih inrBau hir nwmu hY pweIAY gur vIcwir ] (365-6)
is jug meh nirbha-o har naam hai paa-ee-ai gur veechaar.
In this age, the Lord's Name is fearless; it is obtained by meditative reflection upon the Guru.

ibnu nwvY jm kY vis hY mnmuiK AMD gvwir ]2] (365-7)
bin naavai jam kai vas hai manmukh anDh gavaar. ||2||
Without the Name, the blind, foolish, self-willed manmukh is under Death's power. ||2||

hir kY BwxY jnu syvw krY bUJY scu soeI ] (365-8)
har kai bhaanai jan sayvaa karai boojhai sach so-ee.
By the Pleasure of the Lord's Will, the humble being performs His service, and understands the True Lord.

hir kY BwxY swlwhIAY BwxY mMinAY suKu hoeI ]3] (365-8)
har kai bhaanai salaahee-ai bhaanai mani-ai sukh ho-ee. ||3||
By the Pleasure of the Lord's Will, He is to be praised; surrendering to His Will, peace ensues. ||3||

hir kY BwxY jnmu pdwrQu pwieAw miq aUqm hoeI ] (365-9)
har kai bhaanai janam padaarath paa-i-aa mat ootam ho-ee.
By the Pleasure of the Lord's Will, the prize of this human birth is obtained, and the intellect is exalted.

naanak naam salaahi tooN gurmukh gat ho-ee. ||4||39||13||52||
O Nanak, praise the Naam, the Name of the Lord; as Gurmukh, you shall be emancipated. ||4||39||13||52||

jo ta-o bhaavai so-ee theesee jo tooN deh so-ee ha-o paa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
That which is pleasing to Your Will, comes to pass. Whatever You give, that is what I receive. ||1||Pause||

sabh tayree tooN sabhnee Dhi-aa-i-aa.
All are Yours; all meditate on You.

ijs no ik®pw krih iqin nwm rqnu pwieAw ] (365-13)
jis no kirpaa karahi tin naam ratan paa-i-aa.
He alone, whom You bless with Your Mercy, obtains the jewel of the Naam.

gurmuiK lwDw mnmuiK gvwieAw ] (365-13)
gurmukh laaDhaa manmukh gavaa-i-aa.
The Gurmukhs obtain it, and the self-willed manmukhs lose it.

quDu Awip ivCoiVAw Awip imlwieAw ]1] (365-14)
tuDh aap vichhorhi-aa aap milaa-i-aa. ||1||
You Yourself separate the mortals, and You Yourself unite them. ||1||

qUM drIAwau sB quJ hI mwih ] (365-14)
tooN daree-aa-o sabh tujh hee maahi.
You are the River - all are within You.

quJ ibnu dUjw koeI nwih ] (365-14)
tujh bin doojaa ko-ee naahi.
Other than You, there is no one at all.

jIA jMq siB qyrw Kylu ] (365-15)
jee-a jant sabh tayraa khayl.
All beings and creatures are your play-things.

ivjoig imil ivCuiVAw sMjogI mylu ]2] (365-15)
vijog mil vichhurhi-aa sanjogee mayl. ||2||
The united ones are separated, and the separated ones are re-united. ||2||

ijs no qU jwxwieih soeI jnu jwxY ] (365-15)
jis no too jaanaa-ihi so-ee jan jaanai.
That humble being, whom You inspire to understand, understands;

hir gux sd hI AwiK vKwxY ] (365-16)
har gun sad hee aakh vakhaanai.
he continually speaks and chants the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

ijin hir syivAw iqin suKu pwieAw ] (365-16)
jin har sayvi-aa tin sukh paa-i-aa.
One who serves the Lord, obtains peace.

shjy hI hir nwim smwieAw ]3] (365-17)
sehjay hee har naam samaa-i-aa. ||3||
He is easily absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||3||

qU Awpy krqw qyrw kIAw sBu hoie ] (365-17)
too aapay kartaa tayraa kee-aa sabh ho-ay.
You Yourself are the Creator; by Your doing, all things come to be.

quDu ibnu dUjw Avru n koie ] (365-17)
tuDh bin doojaa avar na ko-ay.
Without You, there is no other at all.

qU kir kir vyKih jwxih soie ] (365-18)
too kar kar vaykheh jaaneh so-ay.
You watch over the creation, and understand it.

jn nwnk gurmuiK prgtu hoie ]4]1]53] (365-18)
jan naanak gurmukh pargat ho-ay. ||4||1||53||
O servant Nanak, the Lord is revealed to the Gurmukh. ||4||1||53||
