jau mY rUp kIey bhuqyry Ab Puin rUpu n hoeI ] (483-1)
ja-o mai roop kee-ay bahutayray ab fun roop na ho-ee.
In the past, I have taken many forms, but I shall not take form again.

qwgw qMqu swju sBu Qwkw rwm nwm bis hoeI ]1] (483-1)
taagaa tant saaj sabh thaakaa raam naam bas ho-ee. ||1||
The strings and wires of the musical instrument are worn out, and I am in the power of the Lord's Name. ||1||

Ab moih nwcno n AwvY ] (483-2)
ab mohi naachno na aavai.
Now, I no longer dance to the tune.

myrw mnu mMdrIAw n bjwvY ]1] rhwau ] (483-2)
mayraa man mandaree-aa na bajaavai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My mind no longer beats the drum. ||1||Pause||

kwmu k®oDu mwieAw lY jwrI iqRsnw gwgir PUtI ] (483-2)
kaam kroDh maa-i-aa lai jaaree tarisnaa gaagar footee.
I have burnt away sexual desire, anger and attachment to Maya, and the pitcher of my desires has burst.

kwm colnw BieAw hY purwnw gieAw Brmu sBu CUtI ]2] (483-3)
kaam cholnaa bha-i-aa hai puraanaa ga-i-aa bharam sabh chhootee. ||2||
The gown of sensuous pleasures is worn out, and all my doubts have been dispelled. ||2||

srb BUq eykY kir jwinAw cUky bwd ibbwdw ] (483-3)
sarab bhoot aykai kar jaani-aa chookay baad bibaadaa.
I look upon all beings alike, and my conflict and strife are ended.

kih kbIr mY pUrw pwieAw Bey rwm prswdw ]3]6]28] (483-4)
kahi kabeer mai pooraa paa-i-aa bha-ay raam parsaadaa. ||3||6||28||
Says Kabeer, when the Lord showed His Favor, I obtained Him, the Perfect One. ||3||6||28||

Aasaa:

rojw DrY mnwvY Alhu suAwdiq jIA sMGwrY ] (483-5)
rojaa Dharai manaavai alhu su-aadat jee-a sanghaarai.
You keep your fasts to please Allah, while you murder other beings for pleasure.

Awpw dyiK Avr nhI dyKY kwhy kau JK mwrY ]1] (483-5)
aapaa daykh avar nahee daykhai kaahay ka-o jhakh maarai. ||1||
You look after your own interests, and so not see the interests of others. What good is your word? ||1||

kwjI swihbu eyku qohI mih qyrw soic ibcwir n dyKY ] (483-6)
kaajee saahib ayk tohee meh tayraa soch bichaar na daykhai.
O Qazi, the One Lord is within you, but you do not behold Him by thought or contemplation.

Kbir n krih dIn ky baury qw qy jnmu AlyKY ]1] rhwau ] (483-6)
khabar na karahi deen kay ba-uray taa tay janam alaykhai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You do not care for others, you are a religious fanatic, and your life is of no account at all. ||1||Pause||

swcu kqyb bKwnY Alhu nwir purKu nhI koeI ] (483-7)
saach katayb bakhaanai alhu naar purakh nahee ko-ee.
Your holy scriptures say that Allah is True, and that he is neither male nor female.

pFy guny nwhI kCu baury jau idl mih Kbir n hoeI ]2] (483-7)
padhay gunay naahee kachh ba-uray ja-o dil meh khabar na ho-ee. ||2||
But you gain nothing by reading and studying, O mad-man, if you do not gain the understanding in your heart. ||2||

Alhu gYbu sgl Gt BIqir ihrdY lyhu ibcwrI ] (483-8)
alhu gaib sagal ghat bheetar hirdai layho bichaaree.
Allah is hidden in every heart; reflect upon this in your mind.

ihMdU qurk duhUM mih eykY khY kbIr pukwrI ]3]7]29] (483-8)
hindoo turak duhoo-a^N meh aykai kahai kabeer pukaaree. ||3||7||29||
The One Lord is within both Hindu and Muslim; Kabeer proclaims this out loud. ||3||7||29||

aasaa. tipdaa. iktukaa.
Aasaa, Ti-Pada, Ik-Tuka:

kIE isMgwru imln ky qweI ] (483-9)
kee-o singaar milan kay taa-ee.
I have decorated myself to meet my Husband Lord.

hir n imly jgjIvn gusweI ]1] (483-10)
har na milay jagjeevan gusaa-ee. ||1||
But the Lord, the Life of the Word, the Sustainer of the Universe, has not come to meet me. ||1||

hir myro ipru hau hir kI bhurIAw ] (483-10)
har mayro pir ha-o har kee bahuree-aa.
The Lord is my Husband, and I am the Lord's bride.

rwm bfy mY qnk lhurIAw ]1] rhwau ] (483-10)
raam baday mai tanak lahuree-aa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Lord is so great, and I am infinitesimally small. ||1||Pause||

Dn ipr eykY sMig bsyrw ] (483-11)
Dhan pir aykai sang basayraa.
The bride and the Groom dwell together.

syj eyk pY imlnu duhyrw ]2] (483-11)
sayj ayk pai milan duhayraa. ||2||
They lie upon the one bed, but their union is difficult. ||2||

DMin suhwgin jo pIA BwvY ] (483-11)
Dhan suhaagan jo pee-a bhaavai.
Blessed is the soul-bride, who is pleasing to her Husband Lord.

kih kbIr iPir jnim n AwvY ]3]8]30] (483-12)
kahi kabeer fir janam na aavai. ||3||8||30||
Says Kabeer, she shall not have to be reincarnated again. ||3||8||30||

heerai heeraa bayDh pavan man sehjay rahi-aa samaa-ee.
When the Diamond of the Lord pierces the diamond of my mind, the fickle mind waving in the wind is easily absorbed into Him.

sgl joiq iein hIrY byDI siqgur bcnI mY pweI ]1] (483-14)
sagal jot in heerai bayDhee satgur bachnee mai paa-ee. ||1||
This Diamond fills all with Divine Light; through the True Guru's Teachings, I have found Him. ||1||

hir kI kQw Anwhd bwnI ] (483-15)
har kee kathaa anaahad baanee.
The sermon of the Lord is the unstruck, endless song.

hMsu huie hIrw lyie pCwnI ]1] rhwau ] (483-15)
hans hu-ay heeraa lay-ay pachhaanee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Becoming a swan, one recognizes the Diamond of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

kih kbIr hIrw As dyiKE jg mh rhw smweI ] (483-15)
kahi kabeer heeraa as daykhi-o jag mah rahaa samaa-ee.
Says Kabeer, I have seen such a Diamond, permeating and pervading the world.

gupqw hIrw pRgt BieE jb gur gm dIAw idKweI ]2]1]31] (483-16)
guptaa heeraa pargat bha-i-o jab gur gam dee-aa dikhaa-ee. ||2||1||31||
The hidden diamond became visible, when the Guru revealed it to me. ||2||1||31||

aasaa.
Aasaa:

pihlI krUip kujwiq kulKnI swhurY pyeIAY burI ] (483-17)
pahilee karoop kujaat kulakhnee saahurai pay-ee-ai buree.
My first wife, ignorance, was ugly, of low social status and bad character; she was evil in my home, and in her parents' home.

Ab kI srUip sujwin sulKnI shjy audir DrI ]1] (483-17)
ab kee saroop sujaan sulakhnee sehjay udar Dharee. ||1||
My present bride, divine understanding, is beautiful, wise and well-behaved; I have taken her to my heart. ||1||

BlI srI mueI myrI pihlI brI ] (483-18)
bhalee saree mu-ee mayree pahilee baree.
It has turned out so well, that my first wife has died.

jugu jugu jIvau myrI Ab kI DrI ]1] rhwau ] (483-18)
jug jug jeeva-o mayree ab kee Dharee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
May she, whom I have now married, live throughout the ages. ||1||Pause||

khu kbIr jb lhurI AweI bfI kw suhwgu tirE ] (483-19)
kaho kabeer jab lahuree aa-ee badee kaa suhaag tari-o.
Says Kabeer, when the younger bride came, the elder one lost her husband.

lahuree sang bha-ee ab mayrai jaythee a-or Dhari-o. ||2||2||32||
The younger bride is with me now, and the elder one has taken another husband. ||2||2||32||
