BeI prwpiq mwnuK dyhurIAw ] (378-1)
bha-ee paraapat maanukh dayhuree-aa.
You have been blessed with this human body.

goibMd imlx kI ieh qyrI brIAw ] (378-1)
gobind milan kee ih tayree baree-aa.
This is your chance to meet the Lord of the Universe.

Avir kwj qyrY ikqY n kwm ] (378-2)
avar kaaj tayrai kitai na kaam.
Other efforts are of no use to you.

imlu swDsMgiq Bju kyvl nwm ]1] (378-2)
mil saaDhsangat bhaj kayval naam. ||1||
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, vibrate and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||

sara^Njaam laag bhavjal taran kai.
Make the effort, and cross over the terrifying world ocean.

janam baritha jaat rang maa-i-aa kai. ||1|| rahaa-o.
This human life is passing away in vain, in the love of Maya. ||1||Pause||

jap tap sanjam Dharam na kamaa-i-aa.
I have not practiced meditation, penance, self-restraint or righteous living;

syvw swD n jwinAw hir rwieAw ] (378-4)
sayvaa saaDh na jaani-aa har raa-i-aa.
I have not served the Holy Saints, and I do not know the Lord, my King.

khu nwnk hm nIc krMmw ] (378-4)
kaho naanak ham neech karammaa.
Says Nanak, my actions are vile and despicable;

srix pry kI rwKhu srmw ]2]29] (378-4)
saran paray kee raakho sarmaa. ||2||29||
O Lord, I seek Your Sanctuary - please, preserve my honor. ||2||29||

tujh bin avar naahee mai doojaa too^N mayray man maahee.
Without You, there is no other for me; You alone are in my mind.

qUM swjnu sMgI pRBu myrw kwhy jIA frwhI ]1] (378-5)
too^N saajan sangee parabh mayraa kaahay jee-a daraahee. ||1||
You are my Friend and Companion, God; why should my soul be afraid? ||1||

tumree ot tumaaree aasaa.
You are my support, You are my hope.

baithat oothat sovat jaagat visar naahee too^N saas giraasaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
While sitting down or standing up, while sleeping or waking, with every breath and morsel of food, I never forget You. ||1||Pause||

raakh raakh saran parabh apnee agan saagar vikraalaa.
Protect me, please protect me, O God; I have come to Your Sanctuary; the ocean of fire is so horrible.

naanak kay sukh-daatay satgur ham tumray baal gupaalaa. ||2||30||
The True Guru is the Giver of peace to Nanak; I am Your child, O Lord of the World. ||2||30||

har jan leenay parabhoo chhadaa-ay.
The Lord God has saved me, His slave.

pRIqm isau myro mnu mwinAw qwpu muAw ibKu Kwie ]1] rhwau ] (378-9)
pareetam si-o mayro man maani-aa taap mu-aa bikh khaa-ay. ||1|| rahaa-o.
My mind has surrendered to my Beloved; my fever has taken poison and died. ||1||Pause||

pwlw qwaU kCU n ibAwpY rwm nwm gun gwie ] (378-9)
paalaa taa-oo kachhoo na bi-aapai raam naam gun gaa-ay.
Cold and heat do not touch me at all, when I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord.

daakee ko chit kachhoo na laagai charan kamal sarnaa-ay. ||1||
My consciousness is not affected by the witch, Maya; I take to the Sanctuary of the Lord's Lotus Feet. ||1||

sant parsaad bha-ay kirpaalaa ho-ay aap sahaa-ay.
By the Grace of the Saints, the Lord has shown His Mercy to me; He Himself is my Help and Support.

gun inDwn iniq gwvY nwnku shsw duKu imtwie ]2]31] (378-11)
gun niDhaan nit gaavai naanak sahsaa dukh mitaa-ay. ||2||31||
Nanak ever sings the Praises of the Lord, the treasure of excellence; his doubts and pains are eliminated. ||2||31||

AauKDu KwieE hir ko nwau ] (378-12)
a-ukhaDh khaa-i-o har ko naa-o.
I have taken the medicine of the Name of the Lord.

sukh paa-ay dukh binsi-aa thaa-o. ||1||
I have found peace, and the seat of pain has been removed. ||1||

qwpu gieAw bcin gur pUry ] (378-12)
taap ga-i-aa bachan gur pooray.
The fever has been broken, by the Teachings of the Perfect Guru.

Andu BieAw siB imty ivsUry ]1] rhwau ] (378-13)
anad bha-i-aa sabh mitay visooray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
I am in ecstasy, and all of my sorrows have been dispelled. ||1||Pause||

jIA jMq sgl suKu pwieAw ] (378-13)
jee-a jant sagal sukh paa-i-aa.
All beings and creatures obtain peace,

pwrbRhmu nwnk min iDAwieAw ]2]32] (378-14)
paarbarahm naanak man Dhi-aa-i-aa. ||2||32||
O Nanak, meditating on the Supreme Lord God. ||2||32||

baa^Nchhat naahee so baylaa aa-ee.
That time, which the mortal does not wish for, eventually comes.

bin hukmai ki-o bujhai bujhaa-ee. ||1||
Without the Lord's Command, how can understanding be understood? ||1||

TMFI qwqI imtI KweI ] (378-15)
thadhee taatee mitee khaa-ee.
The body is consumed by water, fire and earth.

Ehu n bwlw bUFw BweI ]1] rhwau ] (378-15)
oh na baalaa boodhaa bhaa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
But the soul is neither young nor old, O Siblings of Destiny. ||1||Pause||

nwnk dws swD srxweI ] (378-16)
naanak daas saaDh sarnaa-ee.
Servant Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of the Holy.

gur pRswid Bau pwir prweI ]2]33] (378-16)
gur parsaad bha-o paar paraa-ee. ||2||33||
By Guru's Grace, he has shaken off the fear of death. ||2||33||

sadaa sadaa aatam pargaas.
Forever and ever, the soul is illumined;

saaDhsangat har charan nivaas. ||1||
in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, it dwells at the Feet of the Lord. ||1||

rwm nwm iniq jip mn myry ] (378-17)
raam naam nit jap man mayray.
Chant the Lord's Name each and every day, O my mind.

sIql sWiq sdw suK pwvih iklivK jwih sBy mn qyry ]1] rhwau ] (378-17)
seetal saa^Nt sadaa sukh paavahi kilvikh jaahi sabhay man tayray. ||1|| rahaa-o.
You shall find lasting peace, contentment and tranquility, and all your sins shall depart. ||1||Pause||

khu nwnk jw ky pUrn krm ] (378-18)
kaho naanak jaa kay pooran karam.
Says Nanak, one who is blessed with perfect good karma,

siqgur Byty pUrn pwrbRhm ]2]34] (378-18)
satgur bhaytay pooran paarbarahm. ||2||34||
meets the True Guru, and obtains the Perfect Supreme Lord God. ||2||34||
