pir kee saar na jaan-ee doojai bhaa-ay pi-aar.
She does not know the value of her Husband Lord; she is attached to the love of duality.

sw kusuD sw kulKxI nwnk nwrI ivic kunwir ]2] (652-1)
saa kusuDh saa kulkhanee naanak naaree vich kunaar. ||2||
She is impure, and ill-mannered, O Nanak; among women, she is the most evil woman. ||2||

Pauree:

hir hir ApxI dieAw kir hir bolI bYxI ] (652-2)
har har apnee da-i-aa kar har bolee bainee.
Be kind to me, Lord, that I might chant the Word of Your Bani.

har naam Dhi-aa-ee har uchraa har laahaa lainee.
May I meditate on the Lord's Name, chant the Lord's Name, and obtain the profit of the Lord's Name.

jo japday har har dinas raat tin ha-o kurbainee.
I am a sacrifice to those who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, day and night.

ijnw siqguru myrw ipAwrw ArwiDAw iqn jn dyKw nYxI ] (652-3)
jinaa satgur mayraa pi-aaraa araaDhi-aa tin jan daykhaa nainee.
May I behold with my eyes those who worship and adore my Beloved True Guru.

hau vwirAw Apxy gurU kau ijin myrw hir sjxu myilAw sYxI ]24] (652-4)
ha-o vaari-aa apnay guroo ka-o jin mayraa har sajan mayli-aa sainee. ||24||
I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has united me with my Lord, my friend, my very best friend. ||24||

Shalok, Fourth Mehl:

hir dwsn isau pRIiq hY hir dwsn ko imqu ] (652-5)
har daasan si-o pareet hai har daasan ko mit.
The Lord loves His slaves; the Lord is the friend of His slaves.

hir dwsn kY vis hY ijau jMqI kY vis jMqu ] (652-5)
har daasan kai vas hai ji-o jantee kai vas jant.
The Lord is under the control of His slaves, like the musical instrument under the control of the musician.

hir ky dws hir iDAwiedy kir pRIqm isau nyhu ] (652-6)
har kay daas har Dhi-aa-iday kar pareetam si-o nayhu.
The Lord's slaves meditate on the Lord; they love their Beloved.

ikrpw kir kY sunhu pRB sB jg mih vrsY myhu ] (652-6)
kirpaa kar kai sunhu parabh sabh jag meh varsai mayhu.
Please, hear me, O God - let Your Grace rain over the whole world.

jo hir dwsn kI ausqiq hY sw hir kI vifAweI ] (652-7)
jo har daasan kee ustat hai saa har kee vadi-aa-ee.
The praise of the Lord's slaves is the Glory of the Lord.

hir AwpxI vifAweI BwvdI jn kw jYkwru krweI ] (652-7)
har aapnee vadi-aa-ee bhaavdee jan kaa jaikaar karaa-ee.
The Lord loves His Own Glory, and so His humble servant is celebrated and hailed.

so hir jnu nwmu iDAwiedw hir hir jnu iek smwin ] (652-8)
so har jan naam Dhi-aa-idaa har har jan ik samaan.
That humble servant of the Lord meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the Lord, and the Lord's humble servant, are one and the same.

jan naanak har kaa daas hai har paij rakhahu bhagvaan. ||1||
Servant Nanak is the slave of the Lord; O Lord, O God, please, preserve his honor. ||1||

naanak pareet laa-ee tin saachai tis bin rahan na jaa-ee.
Nanak loves the True Lord; without Him, he cannot even survive.

siqguru imlY q pUrw pweIAY hir ris rsn rsweI ]2] (652-10)
satgur milai ta pooraa paa-ee-ai har ras rasan rasaa-ee. ||2||
Meeting the True Guru, one finds the Perfect Lord, and the tongue enjoys the sublime essence of the Lord. ||2||

rain dinas parbhaat toohai hee gaavnaa.
Night and day, morning and night, I sing to You, Lord.

jee-a jant sarbat naa-o tayraa Dhi-aavanaa.
All beings and creatures meditate on Your Name.

too daataa daataar tayraa ditaa khaavnaa.
You are the Giver, the Great Giver; we eat whatever You give us.

Bgq jnw kY sMig pwp gvwvxw ] (652-11)
bhagat janaa kai sang paap gavaavnaa.
In the congregation of the devotees, sins are eradicated.

jn nwnk sd bilhwrY bil bil jwvxw ]25] (652-12)
jan naanak sad balihaarai bal bal jaavnaa. ||25||
Servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice, a sacrifice, a sacrifice, O Lord. ||25||

AMqir AigAwnu BeI miq miDm siqgur kI prqIiq nwhI ] (652-12)
antar agi-aan bha-ee mat maDhim satgur kee parteet naahee.
He has spiritual ignorance within, and his intellect is dull and dim; he does not place his faith in the True Guru.

AMdir kptu sBu kpto kir jwxY kpty Kpih KpwhI ] (652-13)
andar kapat sabh kapto kar jaanai kaptay khapeh khapaahee.
He has deceit within himself, and so he sees deception in all others; through his deceptions, he is totally ruined.

siqgur kw Bwxw iciq n AwvY AwpxY suAwie iPrwhI ] (652-14)
satgur kaa bhaanaa chit na aavai aapnai su-aa-ay firaa-ee.
The True Guru's Will does not enter into his consciousness, and so he wanders around, pursuing his own interests.

ikrpw kry jy AwpxI qw nwnk sbid smwhI ]1] (652-14)
kirpaa karay jay aapnee taa naanak sabad samaahee. ||1||
If He grants His Grace, then Nanak is absorbed into the Word of the Shabad. ||1||

mnmuK mwieAw moih ivAwpy dUjY Bwie mnUAw iQru nwih ] (652-15)
manmukh maa-i-aa mohi vi-aapay doojai bhaa-ay manoo-aa thir naahi.
The self-willed manmukhs are engrossed in emotional attachment to Maya; in the love of duality, their minds are unsteady.

Anidnu jlq rhih idnu rwqI haumY Kpih Kpwih ] (652-16)
an-din jalat raheh din raatee ha-umai khapeh khapaahi.
Night and day, they are burning; day and night, they are totally ruined by their egotism.

AMqir loBu mhw gubwrw iqn kY inkit n koeI jwih ] (652-16)
antar lobh mahaa gubaaraa tin kai nikat na ko-ee jaahi.
Within them, is the total pitch darkness of greed, and no one even approaches them.

Eie Awip duKI suKu kbhU n pwvih jnim mrih mir jwih ] (652-17)
o-ay aap dukhee sukh kabhoo na paavahi janam mareh mar jaahi.
They themselves are miserable, and they never find peace; they are born, only to die, and die again.

nwnk bKis ley pRBu swcw ij gur crnI icqu lwih ]2] (652-17)
naanak bakhas la-ay parabh saachaa je gur charnee chit laahi. ||2||
O Nanak, the True Lord God forgives those, who focus their consciousness on the Guru's feet. ||2||

Pauree:

sMq Bgq prvwxu jo pRiB BwieAw ] (652-18)
sant bhagat parvaan jo parabh bhaa-i-aa.
That Saint, that devotee, is acceptable, who is loved by God.

syeI ibcKx jMq ijnI hir iDAwieAw ] (652-18)
say-ee bichkhan jant jinee har Dhi-aa-i-aa.
Those beings are wise, who meditate on the Lord.

AMimRqu nwmu inDwnu Bojnu KwieAw ] (652-19)
amrit naam niDhaan bhojan khaa-i-aa.
They eat the food, the treasure of the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord.

sMq jnw kI DUir msqik lwieAw ] (652-19)
sant janaa kee Dhoor mastak laa-i-aa.
They apply the dust of the feet of the Saints to their foreheads.
