icqvin icqvau ipRA pRIiq bYrwgI kid pwvau hir drsweI ] (1207-1)
chitvan chitva-o pari-a pareet bairaagee kad paava-o har darsaa-ee.
I think thoughts of Him; I miss the Love of my Beloved. When will I obtain the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan?

jqn krau iehu mnu nhI DIrY koaU hY ry sMqu imlweI ]1] (1207-1)
jatan kara-o ih man nahee Dheerai ko-oo hai ray sant milaa-ee. ||1||
I try, but this mind is not encouraged. Is there any Saint who can lead me to God? ||1||

jp qp sMjm puMn siB homau iqsu Arpau siB suK jWeI ] (1207-2)
jap tap sanjam punn sabh homa-o tis arpa-o sabh sukh jaaN-ee.
Chanting, penance, self-control, good deeds and charity - I sacrifice all these in fire; I dedicate all peace and places to Him.

eyk inmK ipRA drsu idKwvY iqsu sMqn kY bil jWeI ]2] (1207-3)
ayk nimakh pari-a daras dikhaavai tis santan kai bal jaaN-ee. ||2||
One who helps me to behold the Blessed Vision of my Beloved, for even an instant - I am a sacrifice to that Saint. ||2||

krau inhorw bhuqu bynqI syvau idnu rYnweI ] (1207-3)
kara-o nihoraa bahut bayntee sayva-o din rainaa-ee.
I offer all my prayers and entreaties to him; I serve him, day and night.

mwnu AiBmwnu hau sgl iqAwgau jo ipRA bwq sunweI ]3] (1207-4)
maan abhimaan ha-o sagal ti-aaga-o jo pari-a baat sunaa-ee. ||3||
I have renounced all pride and egotism; he tells me the stories of my Beloved. ||3||

dyiK cirqR BeI hau ibsmin guir siqguir puriK imlweI ] (1207-4)
daykh charitar bha-ee ha-o bisman gur satgur purakh milaa-ee.
I am wonder-struck, gazing upon the wondrous play of God. The Guru, the True Guru, has led me to meet the Primal Lord.

parabh rang da-i-aal mohi garih meh paa-i-aa jan naanak tapat bujhaa-ee. ||4||1||15||
I have found God, my Merciful Loving Lord, within the home of my own heart. O Nanak, the fire within me has been quenched. ||4||1||15||

ray moorhHay too ki-o simrat ab naahee.
You fool, why are you not meditating on the Lord now?

narak ghor meh uraDh tap kartaa nimakh nimakh gun gaaNhee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
In the awful hell of the fire of the womb, you did penance, upside-down; each and every instant, you sang His Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||

Aink jnm BRmqO hI AwieE mwns jnmu dulBwhI ] (1207-7)
anik janam bharmatou hee aa-i-o maanas janam dulbhaahee.
You wandered through countless incarnations, until finally you attained this priceless human birth.

grB join Coif jau inkisE qau lwgo An TWhI ]1] (1207-8)
garabh jon chhod ja-o niksi-o ta-o laago an thaaNhee. ||1||
Leaving the womb, you were born, and when you came out, you became attached to other places. ||1||

krih burweI TgweI idnu rYin inhPl krm kmwhI ] (1207-8)
karahi buraa-ee thagaa-ee din rain nihfal karam kamaahee.
You practiced evil and fraud day and night, and did useless deeds.

kxu nwhI quh gwhx lwgy Dwie Dwie duK pWhI ]2] (1207-9)
kan naahee tuh gaahan laagay Dhaa-ay Dhaa-ay dukh paaNhee. ||2||
You thrash the straw, but it has no wheat; running around and hurrying, you obtain only pain. ||2||

imiQAw sMig kUiV lptwieE auriJ pirE kusmWhI ] (1207-10)
mithi-aa sang koorh laptaa-i-o urajh pari-o kusmaaNhee.
The false person is attached to falsehood; he is entangled with transitory things.

Drm rwie jb pkris bvry qau kwl muKw auiT jwhI ]3] (1207-10)
Dharam raa-ay jab pakras bavray ta-o kaal mukhaa uth jaahee. ||3||
And when the Righteous Judge of Dharma seizes you, O madman, you shall arise and depart with your face blackened. ||3||

so imilAw jo pRBU imlwieAw ijsu msqik lyKu ilKWhI ] (1207-11)
so mili-aa jo parabhoo milaa-i-aa jis mastak laykh likhaaNhee.
He alone meets with God, whom God Himself meets, by such pre-ordained destiny written on his forehead.

khu nwnk iqn@ jn bilhwrI jo Ailp rhy mn mWhI ]4]2]16] (1207-11)
kaho naanak tinH jan balihaaree jo alip rahay man maaNhee. ||4||2||16||
Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to that humble being, who remains unattached within his mind. ||4||2||16||

ikau jIvnu pRIqm ibnu mweI ] (1207-12)
ki-o jeevan pareetam bin maa-ee.
How can I live without my Beloved, O my mother?

jw ky ibCurq hoq imrqkw igRh mih rhnu n pweI ]1] rhwau ] (1207-13)
jaa kay bichhurat hot mirtakaa garih meh rahan na paa-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Separated from Him, the mortal becomes a corpse, and is not allowed to remain within the house. ||1||Pause||

jIA hˆØIA pRwn ko dwqw jw kY sMig suhweI ] (1207-13)
jee-a heeN-a paraan ko daataa jaa kai sang suhaa-ee.
He is the Giver of the soul, the heart, the breath of life. Being with Him, we are embellished with joy.

karahu kirpaa santahu mohi apunee parabh mangal gun gaa-ee. ||1||
Please bless me with Your Gace, O Saint, that I may sing the songs of joyful praise to my God. ||1||

charan santan kay maathay mayray oopar nainhu Dhoor baaNchhaa-eeN.
I touch my forehead to the feet of the Saints. My eyes long for their dust.

jih parsaad milee-ai parabh naanak bal bal taa kai ha-o jaa-ee. ||2||3||17||
By His Grace, we meet God; O Nanak, I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to Him. ||2||3||17||

auAw Aausr kY hau bil jweI ] (1207-16)
u-aa a-osar kai ha-o bal jaa-ee.
I am a sacrifice to that occasion.

AwT phr Apnw pRBu ismrnu vfBwgI hir pWeI ]1] rhwau ] (1207-16)
aath pahar apnaa parabh simran vadbhaagee har paaN-ee. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate in remembrance on my God; by great good fortune, I have found the Lord. ||1||Pause||

Blo kbIru dwsu dwsn ko aUqmu sYnu jnu nweI ] (1207-17)
bhalo kabeer daas daasan ko ootam sain jan naa-ee.
Kabeer is good, the slave of the Lord's slaves; the humble barber Sain is sublime.

aUc qy aUc nwmdyau smdrsI rivdws Twkur bix AweI ]1] (1207-17)
ooch tay ooch naamday-o samadrasee ravidaas thaakur ban aa-ee. ||1||
Highest of the high is Naam Dayv, who looked upon all alike; Ravi Daas was in tune with the Lord. ||1||

jIau ipMfu qnu Dnu swDn kw iehu mnu sMq rynweI ] (1207-18)
jee-o pind tan Dhan saaDhan kaa ih man sant raynaa-ee.
My soul, body and wealth belong to the Saints; my mind longs for the dust of the Saints.

sMq pRqwip Brm siB nwsy nwnk imly gusweI ]2]4]18] (1207-19)
sant partaap bharam sabh naasay naanak milay gusaa-ee. ||2||4||18||
And by the radiant Grace of the Saints, all my doubts have been erased. O Nanak, I have met the Lord. ||2||4||18||
